Yes, I know, but it was the result of a misunderstanding engineered by Vivian, and she never stopped loving him.

Not only that, but I felt like he was a hypocrite because when she was involved with Lucas, he wanted her to cheat on Lucas with HIM. So it was okay for them to hurt Lucas, but once she did it TO him, that couldn't be forgiven, even if it was the result of a manipulation by Vivian? Really?

Double standard.

I will believe it when I see it! There better be a damn good reason for Jennifer to go back to Daniel. Daniel has got to know that he is second fiddle to the 'revered Jack'. All the best to Dannifer, I honestly can't understand why TPTB would even want to go back there. As a JnJ fan, it feels like another slap in the face. I think Jennifer with someone new is okay, just not Daniel, he is definitely not her type, well maybe the new shallow and fickle bitches' type, but not my old favorite, Jennifer Horton type. I hope MR's pics are just teasers.

As for SC and MA, Jack is definitely more the kind of man I'd choose to be with. Jack has never been written as a "hunk" type, his character has relied on his intellectual wit, humor and intense romantic sex appeal.
SC's Daniel is just sex, one dimensional appeal, no history or substance, just blah, all while MA has a way to get Jack under your skin. It is something the actor does, not the character, even if MA doesn't see it for himself, it is undisputedly there.
Agreed. I don't see why they'd go back to Dannifer either. If they have to put her with someone else, I'd rather they try her with Brady (as weird as that would be), since it would at least be something different.
Themore I read about possible storylines coming up the more I see Tomlin and co. putting the characters right back where they were before they were fired last time. So I think Dannifer will be back pretty well straight away. No doubt Dr Creepy comforting Jenn when Jack dies and then no more mention of Jack. Also going by the photos MR "leaked" the other day, Dannifer will still be going strong at the end of the year so I think they're planning to have them paired for the long haul. Why? God knows. I don't think I've ever read one post, on this board at least, that favour them but I guess what Tomlin wants Tomlin gets, at this point anyway. If the ratings don't improve that could all change. As for MR's tweets, I don't hate her for them but ITA that for someone who is reportedly so sensitive, to post them when Jack fans are at their lowest is pretty insensitive. She could have waited until he was dead and some of us would have stopped monitoring the Days forums anyway.

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

^ITA with this. IMO, it is the writers fault, not the actors. SC's use of sex and personal satisfaction to attract the lonely ladies of Salem is pervy and gross. Usually pervs & creeps don't this last long on soaps, so what gives?

As for SC's underdeveloped character, same goes for GG, his character could have used a far more creative approach, that included an intensely complicated history. To this day, we still don't have the skinny on this dude, do we? ISA, FBI... it still doesn't tell me much, he kinda reminds me of Kevin Costner in the Bodyguard.

Daniel throwing away love for ego and pride is not my kind of man. Chloe made a transgression and I believe she was sincerely sorry for it. Look at all the other couples on DAYS who've done far worse things, and they forgive their "lover, partner, soulmate" and get back together. Daniel does not play fair, I hate how TPTB write for him as a victim.

For me, it's hard to like Daniel. I could have. I have no real objection to the actor.

It's just that he came in, got involved with Chelsea who was twenty years his junior...then ended up involved with her grandma Kate. Then it was Chloe, whom he would love forever, but Chloe made a mistake and he dropped her like a hot potato, then it was Jennifer, now it's Nicole...and heck, I'm probably leaving someone out, too.

It isn't appealing, the way he's involved with so many women in so short a time. He has no depth, and any demons he has don't interest me.

I was prepared to like him with Chloe...that was his last chance with me. And he blew her off for a mistake she made...she always loved him. When things went south, he cut her off entirely, refusing to forgive her.

He's worthless, IMO.

I love this post. You summed it up perfectly. I have no beef with SC (except for the fact that he thinks the stinky beach bum look is cool) in fact, I loved him as Mike on ATWT many moons ago. Daniel Jonas is a pervy sexual deviant and TIIC need to stop trying to make him a serious romantic lead, because it is not working. Make him the sleazy cad that he's supposed to be and let him continue to sleep around with anything in a hospital gown and non-skid socks. That version of Daniel works, the Mr. Perfect, he's such a great guy, second coming of Jesus BS that the writers insist on trying to sell is not and will not ever work with this scuzzy character. Jennifer running back to him after Jack "dies" for the umpteenth millionth time will only make both of these characters look worse, if that's even possible anymore. Right now it looks like Jennifer is jumping back into Daniel's bed barely 3 months after Jack is out of the picture. :shame: Tacky tacky!!

Put it this way - where's the incentive for Jack/MA fans, and Jack/Jen fans, to keep watching DAYS after Jack's "death", assuming that's how MA is written out?
I bet where we're headed back to is Tomlin's vision for the show: Rafe, Rafe & more Rafe; Dannifer; shirtless hunks & bimbos.
Oh, and Marlena & John & Hope & Doug & Julie are kept around as the token vets, to prop the younger characters.
I guess i forgot the other ingredient: endless pimping of Alison Sweeney & James Scott.
Bringing back Blake Berris - can't be Tomlin's idea.

Daniel/Chloe was the first time I really liked either actor on the show, and then watching Daniel be an ass to Chloe when she was pregnant/suffering from PPD really turned me off Daniel (she cheated on him, he left her, I think that's okay, but ... you know, it did feel a little strange feeling sympathy for him when they got together in the first place because she cheated on Lucas with Daniel). Personally I think the best story for him would've been with Billie because the whole past with Kate & Chelsea means that there is a confrontation of his horndog side built right in to the relationship. Anyway, while it makes me vomit a little to see it all now, I keep thinking of what's going to happen in 9 month's time when Dannifer is absolutely boring and doing nothing for the ratings.

I'm not offended by Missy's tweets/pictures, it's not like she said something racist or something, but I do think it would've been nice if she held off for a while. Since I already knew Dannifer is coming this sort of thing has a limited impact on me. But then I think I'm like Lucky and don't read as much into Twitter. Nothing really matters to me in the long run except what's on screen. Anyway, I think it would be in Missy's best interests to court a relationship with the J&J fans again, but since I know where that whole reticence came from I'm not going to worry about it too much. Que sera sera, I'll probably be more distant from her from now on but I really don't feel much anger, she's just not selling what I'm buying.

I haven't listened to the interview (and now knowing that it's two hours, I am not sure I will), but I have to say this about Jack. I have always loved that character. And I was super pumped to hear that he was returning last fall. But the writers really let me down on this one. Whether he ended up with Jennifer or not, the fact that Jack was back in town was good enough for me. But then it was like they had absolutely no plan for him beyond the few episodes about PTSD. He should have gone back to running the newspaper which would have been a great idea with an investment scandal AND political race in the fall. Why did we have all that stunt casting of reporters when we had one in our midst? He could have trained Abigail to be the next great reporter in town. Chalk it up to a wasted opportunity, a specialty of Days. Sorry Jack won't be around. :(

Jack's return was a wasted opportunity all around. There was so much potential and so much territory that begged to be explored but never was. After the triangle from hell inevitably flopped, TIIC apparently lacked the talent or the inclination to take Jack anywhere else. Which is a damn shame because the truncated PTSD storyline had tons of potential, positive buzz in the soap media, some actually decent/sensitive writing, and an actor at the center with the chops to pull it off. Failing to capitalize on any of that was stupidity of the highest order.

I'm among the many who tuned in for the highly touted Reboot 1.0, mainly because MA's Jack was returning. I liked John/Marlena well enough and was neutral on Carrie/Austin, but . . . I came back for Jack. And not even necessarily J&J, though I had loved them back in the day. But Jack finally getting fed up with Jennifer's parade of other men and moving on to someone else was something I would have been open to seeing. Because I don't recognize Jennifer anymore--this third run has stripped her of all the qualities that made her likable and rootable: she has no profession, no ambition, and no goals beyond her next post-Jack "romance." She's become a middle-aged Barbie doll whose only purpose is to be paired up with multiple, interchangeable Kens. And since her soulmate has too many layers ever to be a Ken Doll (at least when MA plays him), he appears to have no future on this version of the show.

I won't be sticking around for Reboot 2.0. T&W 2's vision bores and irritates me. I couldn't care less about the continued air-hogging of Sami, Rafe, EJ, and Daniel. I see nothing positive about the loss of so many veteran characters at one swoop, and nothing all that earth-shattering (no pun intended) about randomly blowing stuff and people up. Any chimp can write about an explosion--it takes a real writer to tell a great story.

I'm curious to see how Nick/BB returns, because I love this actor, BUT I can easily avoid the rest - the endless pimping of Tomlin's golden boy Rafe/GG, endless EJ & Daniel, Jennifer headed back to Daniel etc.
