So I guess the rest of the cast as well as Lexie's memorial fundraiser and Bradison's wedding really got the shaft here because a cliffhanger event like this should have easily been a two day event. A cliffhanger that they spent all this time and money on is being hurredly shoved into one episode on Friday and that episode will focued on salem blowing sky high. I wanted to see full cast interaction at a big gala event with beautiful gowns and tuxes like in the old days, but I guess they had no time for that because we have to watch all these out of character conversations and interactions instead.

I see a lot of small clues and glimmers of good writing being foreshadowed. It's like pices of gold shimmering through a steaming pile of crap, but they're there and hopefully that's the seeds that TomSell have planted for the big storylines they have in store for us!
I've been reading, not watching this week and I must say if I didn't know a cliff hanger was coming I certainly couldn't tell. The build up has been zero. No anticipation about who it may affect (Jack and Jen) and certainly no suspense. Shoving it all into 1 episode is supposed to make people anticipate the conclusion in 2 weeks? This should have been built into a week long event instead of small glimpses of danger involving characters not many people even care about. As I said, if I didn't know it was coming, this week's show would make me feel like - so what?

I agree - we should have had at least 2 days of people all dressed up - dancing around, with shots of the impeding explosion interspersed so tension would build. Instead we have Mel and Gabi (blah) trapped, Roman arguing with Sami and Will over EJ (which is still a ridiculous SL - she can believe John is capable of stealing billions despite his character being the opposite but stands up for a man she once shot and who has been involved with rape and kidnapping? OK for Ejami fans he standing up for EJ but really, the sanctimonious speech to Roman about standing up for what is right when she was scathing about John and Marlena's situation is just disgusting - if I didn't already hate Sami, this would have made me start) and Victor giving Daniel and Nicole a hard time? No suspense at all. So disappointed.
I can live with the pacing because I believe they salvaged what they could given their budget.I would rather they spend money on ED,JM,and GV but I totally agree with everthing else you posted. Two (2) thumbs up concerning Sami/Ej and Sami/John.The writer continue to make Sami look stupid. She has four chilren but is risking going to jail. What caring mother would do this?
It's a soap. They are never going to have romance where one partner sits back and says, the man I love is in trouble, but I can't risk doing anything to help him because I have to stay here for the kids that are rarely seen, or I can't run off to Timbuktoo on a dime because the kids have to be in school on Monday. I honestly don't want my soap to be so constrained by real life.

Regardless, if the person I loved was being railroaded to jail for a crime he didn't commit, I think I'd take up for him against any and all comers, including my parents. I think that should be even more important in a 'soapy' romance.

I've pretty much always hated Sami (well, there was a brief time before the affair that I liked her). I loved to hate her till they tried to make her a hero, then I pretty much just disliked her off and on, mostly for the insane John-hate, because of anyone, after he came on as RoJohn, John was always there for Sami. He took care of her and Eric and Carrie (and I loved the snippets we got of him raising them). He always seemed to care about her even when she abused and pushed him away. The few times I started liking her were when she was actually getting along better with John and we saw some brief caring scenes between them. I had also liked her scenes with Ej from the getgo.

Otherwise, I genuinely disliked Sami, both from the way she was played by AS as a 'hero' and because I never really cared about Lumi or Safe. Lucas has often been judgemental, and I'm very disappointed to see the writers taking him down this road again. Just seeing Lucas stare at Sami with that look makes me wanna FF... I hated it before and I hate it now. When he's not OTT judgemental I like him okay, but the writers have never found a good pairing for him. They have to make him a drunk jobless loser or clueless and stupid. I know it's not BD because he has had brief 'good' times, like when he stepped away from Sami and moved to Chloe. He was a solid parent, and more conciliatory in nature trying to get Sami to see reason for the children's sake. Rafe, I've never gotten from the day he started the show.

I never thought I'd actually be watching the show FOR Sami. I still think AS is nowhere near the actress AZ is, but I just enjoy the chemistry between AS and JS more, and for the first time in years, I've actually looked forward to the show. I LOVE Will thinking about Ej from a 'what it must have been like growing up under Stefano' mindset - and I like the sweet crushy feel of it, and I love Sami actually stepping up and caring and doing something about it.

I know the new writers will probably destroy that feeling again soon, but for now, I'm actually enjoying parts of the show. I just wish there was more balance. I agree it is very Ejami and Will oriented non-stop lately, but that's the only story that's really been interesting to me for the most part. I hope the new writers will make all stories more enjoyable vs removing the one that has me hooked, but I do know I'm probably heading for a fall. I'm just enjoying it while I have it.

Hadn't thought about his angle, but quite like it. Sami double crossing EJ, working for Steffy with Will, only to fall in love with him as she is doing it. That is way too good for TomSell, OTT and damn right soapy. Sami got her money from somewhere to bail EJ out, everything thinks it is CW, I'd love for it to have been Steffy.
She did tell him not to "underestimate" her
As long as Tptb give us a well-written story where Ejami acknowledge their love for each other and have some hot, graphic sex, I don't care how they get there!
But many people care how they get there. And wish TPTB cared. Cause character destruction and rewriting characters to be pimping tools don't work for everyone.

Sami/EJ/Will working together is so much fun to watch. As someone posted a while back, what separates Sami and Will from the good guys like Rafe and Roman is that they're willing to do pretty much anything to help someone out (in this case, EJ), even if they're committing crimes or felonies. It's also the very reason I liked Sami to begin with.
But Sami never did shit like that to help anyone but herself. At least not Sami that was actually being written in character.

Why does Will grin in every scene? Its weird and generally inappropriate.

I was bored silly yesterday. I like seeing some of Victor's snark, but Nicole didn't face off with him as I'd hoped.

I wanted to throttle Maggie. And Daniel. And Sami. And EJ. And Will.

Creamed Spinach's jazz hands were in full effect.

I'm gonna miss Andrew...everyone else in that tunnel, I couldn't give a shit about.

Pretty sad when the highlight of the episode (or the last few weeks really) is someone whose not even a regular on the show.

one that is madly in love. :tounge:
Its always refreshing to see a woman put her sexual needs ahead of the needs of her children.Sami is a shining example of the perfect mother.

I don't think any soap women are model mothers. Truly. Even the supposedly selfless ones. Look at Kayla--have we seen Joey once since she's been back? Where is he? And let's not forget Hope's ridiculousness of moving out with Sierra after her kidnapping. And Marlena is one of the worst moms ever. They're all bad. I think Sami's better than most, actually. We actually see her making arrangements for people to watch her kids while she pursues her own interests.

Take away Sami/EJ/Will/lucas/Roman, and the rest of the show wasn't that bad in retrospect. You know the show is in a bad place when Gabbi and Melanie don't even feature in your top 10 of complaints.

just speculation but could it be possible that sami and will are working for stefano? will smiling alot? sami because she works for him already as ceo at cw and thats was part of the deal? i don't know it seems like there is something we are not seeing on screen going on.
Will and Sami seem gung ho to get EJ in even more trouble with the law.

Would LOVE that. They aren't that creative....

The show should try to keep the Andrew character. He was the best thing on the show today.
Yeah, I think he's excellent. Can't he have a sane twin?
I'd be happy if we just kept Andrew. Can anyone in town really blame him for MelaGab from their orbits?
