i dont think js wants to be a superstar, from what i've read. i love the grey in his hair, i'd hardly call him over the hill
He is not over the hill. But it is difficult for actors of either sex to make it big after the age of 40. He needs to make his move soon. I have heard/read the same thing about him not wanting to be a superstar. Thats fine and I have no doubt he has said that. But, I also don't know many people who dedicate so much attention to detail to an entertainment career and not want to be known as being "great" at it. Most 14 yr.old boys playing football dram that someday they will end up in the NFL. Most 12 yr. olds taking dance class either dream of being a ballerina on a stage or a backup dancer to J. Lo or somebody. Comedians who play school auditoriums in Bug Tussle someday hope to be on Leno or on the big screen. I imagine that James does not want to have the popularity and hassles of a Clooney or a Pitt, but I think he would probably settle for being someone like Shemar Moore or Nathan Fillian Jesse Metcalf.
The problem is how do you measure "greatness" as an actor? I don't think that it can be defined by "making it" in Hollywood. There are too many popular actresses and actors that just can't act for me to believe that. I think, from his interviews, James sounds like he is very independent and loves his craft. I think, like most people, he should define his own success in the way that is most meaningful and fulfilling for him. I would love for him to continue on DAYS and I think he is a wonderful actor and a credit to the cast.

So Lexi's favorite song was Austin and Carrie's "couple song"?

I can't wait to see what will happen in August when the show returns. I am so excited to see what will unfold when the dust is settled. It was all so fast but exciting too. Now we will get to see people jump into action and save some of their loved ones. Some will not be so fortunate to make it. I have my ideas about who will not make it out alive.

Can't wail til August 13th.

Well that was....okay. Not amazing, not terrible, just....okay. Technically, the explosion was well done, but when did the show get so half-assed at mounting tension and suspense? Also, the fundraiser should have started at least a couple days ago.

I also found the cliffhanger underwhelming. The episode felt like filler until the last 45 seconds or so, at which point everything happened at such breakneck speed that it seemed more like an epileptic seizure than a cliffhanger. (Typical Days storytelling: Stall and rush.) There was no buildup of suspense. No sense of excitement. Just boredom and boom.

The stories that will be impacted by this (Melanie/Chad/Gabi, Brady and Madison, EJ/Sami) are stories that I pretty much care nothing about, so that takes away some of my anticipation to see what happens next. John, Marlena, Bo and Hope are basically window dressing so there's no excitement there. I don't care about Daniel and Nicole nor do I care to see Daniel acting as the hero of this disaster. I don't care to see Jack die for the thousandth time.

The whole thing is just... meh. These stories suck.

The funniest thing to me about the cliffhanger is that the catwalk only looks to be about 10 feet off the ground. If you add in the length of EJ's arms and Sami's body, she'd only have about a three foot fall. Ooooohhh drama!! LOL.

The ending was very cool. I liked it. It went fast and was intense and I had to rewatch a few times to figure out who was who and what was happening. That's good stuff.

On a lighter note, Marlena vs plate was hillarious and I need a slow mo Gif of EJ turning around to face Roman the the SPD. Sexy.As.Hell.

That's exactly how I feel. There should have been buildup the entire week, instead of everything happening the last few seconds of the show.

I was disappointed in the episode, but the end looked really good. I also don't care about most of the characters involved. Melanie, Brady, Andrew, Gabi, and Chad could all die and I would be fine with it so the entire tunnel crew meant nothing to me.

It felt like pandering to have Jack and Jenn saying "Aw we're so lucky..." kinda lame. I did think the Abigail cliffhanger was pretty good. She seemed like the only person in real danger being in the elevator. Sami wouldn't even break her leg if she fell that distance. I think they should have had Roman trip and send a shot in the air toward Sami and EJ's direction, at least. Could have had EJ get shot and Sami fall after the cliffhanger and have them both end up in the hospital.

This was also a perfect opportunity to kill of Daniel. Someone should have been crushed by that chandelier and Nicole's scream made it seem like Daniel would die. Too bad. Jack, Madison, and Andrew are the only casualties I see happening (maybe Ian) and Jack isn't even going to die from the explosion, most likely from saving Abigail. Its all pretty irrelevant in the long run. I wanted a cliffhanger with lasting consequences.

My reaction today was meh. It was fine but guess what. The stories they have been telling are crap and the same people will die as always. Jack and a new newbies. They don't have the courage to do anything unpredictable.

Whatever JS seems to be doing is working for him. CLEARLY! ;) And it's NOT running his mouth on twitter. As an actor, I would take note of whatever AS and JS were doing and get my ass busy, because they are THE face of Days right now.
Actually, if I was an actor, I would take note of what MB did and leave when her contract expires, go audition for some other jobs. Soaps are dead. I bet CM is counting the days til he leaves for pilot season.
Exactly. I have been wanting James to leave DOOL even when I was an Ejami. He is getting beyond his prime and is languishing on a soap. What a waste. I would have much rather payed my 12 bucks to go see him on the big screen once a year than see him everyday on DOOL. He is worth paying for. Now, he is looking at middle age for actors, graying, and still unknown to the people who matter. And his superstar pal has never once (not that I have seen) included him in a photo shoot or Red Carpet outside of DOOL or the Daytime Emmy's (which are pretty much ignored). He is the real actor and the one with the most charisma, not the superstar. The superstar got lucky because she was someone who happened to have struggled with a weight problem in the past and the TBL host position was available. I don't blame her for taking advantage of that. I actually think she is the most widely known actor for all soaps and I am not mad at her for it. JMO.
Maybe James didn't want his superstar pal to include him in any of that? It's definitely not Ali's job anyways. James is a big boy who can figure it out on his own, if he wants. I didn't see the clip, but she did show a picture of James working out on that show 'Bethanny'(?) when she was on it, and talked about their triathalon competition. That was just a couple weeks ago.

The true DAYSaster is that today's episode was the worst episode of the week. It was quite literally 53 minutes of "Hold on.... hold on... waaaaaaait for it... wait... until..... NOW" and then 2 minutes of really good SFX (I truly was impressed by those 2 minutes). Everything else was just kinda... meh.

Poor Julie they forgot that she was in the earthquake in Alamania, but remembered she was shipwrecked (Cruise of Deception reference! *happy dance*).

"Roman, put down your gun! Your daughter's up there!" Well, so shit, Lucas. State the obvious much? I was personally screaming for Roman to SHOOT THE BITCH!

Kate rattles of the names of her children & that she cares about them. But not a single mention of Rex or Cassie. I'm actually fine with that.

EJ, DROP THE BITCH. Meanwhile, so much WTFery that the last image we have from this show for 2 weeks is Samantha Gene's stupid fucking ass in peril. smh

Madison and Brady were getting married at Lexie's fundraiser? That is weird and mooching.

Sami and Will hugged. That was more surprising than the explosion.

The explosion was rushed, the entire episode was should have been lots more build-up to suddenly a wedding slash fundraiser all in one. There was no water with electrical wires. Doesn't show what happened to Lucas or Roman.

It's not up to AS to pimp JS's career and parade him around. It's up to JS to make his own choices for his career. He goes to red carpet events outside of DOOL all on his own.

AS was on the Bethany show and showed a picture of him sent via text and talked about some Marathon they're doing together anyways.

I think the wedding was supposed to take place at the church following the fundraiser. But I agree that it was weird.

Come on now EJ. Tall lanky people such as yourself should not try to hide behind things you know that you were going to be seen if you moved one muscle. Now. DROP THE BITCH. Even though I know he will not I can still dream about it on the Olympic Break.

I too was screaming at my tv to Roman saying SHOOT THE BITCH even though I know it was just another dream.

But hey a girl can dream. ;)

Another dream of mine while I was watching I was hoping the blast came when Roman was pointing that gun on EJ and Sami was standing in the way if the gun would have went off and got Sami and she was left lying. Would have loved that but no such luck (sigh).

Btw if Ian survives the blast if I were Kate I would let his ass have it he is at this fundraiser with her but he is getting drunk I know and so did Kate it is because Madison was going to marry Brady then he lied to her face when she confronted him about it and got smart with her on top of that when she went to him and asked him about his drinking.

Also when Madison went off running and crying he went to follow her right in front of Kate. OH HELLS YEAH if I were Kate I would lay into that ass real good. He claims he loves Kate but he does not seem to want to let go of Madison either. I really wish I had the chance to feel him out before he leaves the show but I do not think I will because I am still confused by his creepy ass. When Ian leaves what is going to happen to the whole him settign up EJ or will that be resolved before he leaves?

I see that Kate is also still wearing the ring that Stefano gave her. I think that is what was on her finger I have noticed it in several of her scenes after Stefano's supposed death. If I am not mistaking I am almost sure that this is the ring that Stefano gave her when they got married. Maybe she is not ready to let him go yet and maybe she will not have to because he is coming back sometime in the future.

Ignore my Peter griffin picture on the bottom of page 2 lol..Overall I thought the episode was ok..But it could have been way better..For once I found Madison interesting..I really liked that little interaction with Ian and John. It was funny.

And Gabi is so gonna get caught lol.

I do kind of agree almost the whole episode is kind of filler. But there's no one to blame but Higley and MarDar. It would be hard IMO to base this all from something so boring in the last couple months. DAYS has even boring for 3 years now..

The only reason that I would watch after Olympics is to see EJ drop Sami. Then again what a shit way to end a cliffhanger...I haven't bought those two for a second, but to think that with so many people in peril, I'd give a shit about EJ and Sami and their fake insta-respect tension, it is so painfully obvious why these writers were fired.

I really can't blame fans for not watching this sad piece of shit! Sweeney so needs to go!
