To me Jack is EJ or more correctly EJ is Jack. Tall handsome men of words. Always able to bring a smile to my face with a line or even just a look. Struggling with Daddy issues and crimes of the past. Misplaced sense of loyalty to blondes who are holding them back. . |

I agree with you 100 percent. :hail: I think Jack is an awesome character, it's a shame he wasn't used to his fullest potential. But if anyone of them needs a rest its Jennifer, I really do not recognize her anymore, too much damage has been done to make me care. With Jack on the otherhand there's so many storylines left to tell. |

Totally disagree. EJ will never be Jack. Jack was my first crush on DAYS. He had a richly layer and complex history. A true redemption written beautifully. That's why I wanted to give him another chance. I wanted him to fall in love. MA made me feel his remorse and pain coupled with his insecure nature in ever winning someone like the innocent yet full of life, Miss Horton. EJ is a cardboard cutout (and that's putting it nicely as an admitted EJ fan...when he's not acting like the innocent hero that I despise!) |

Almost every minute of Jack screen time since he has been back has been boring. All of his storylines have been beneath him except, maybe, the PTSD, but they let him have that story for what, a second? MA has been turned into a prop. His death* creates a blank slate for other characters, that's all I'm saying. With his death, this sucky return gets forgotten and the new writers can start over with, hopefully, some good stories. *you know, when I wrote my original post, I hesitated to use jack as an example because I knew the examples I used would get over-analyzed. There are lots of examples that illustrate the point I was trying to make, it's just that Jack and Nicole's baby were the first two that popped into my head. They are not necessarily the best examples, nor does it mean I wish those things had happened, etc., etc., I was just trying to convey a parallel I saw and some insight into what *I* thought might be going on as to the whys of this episode and why it wasn't as exciting as we had hoped. |

FYI: Sami and EJ had about 6 minutes of total airtime in the CH. Hardly seems dominating. |

Bring back Jack!

What other stories? The only story he had was the PTSD and then he was backburned for months. I still disagree that he sucked. I for one will never find Jack boring. Yes he was used as a prop but again that doesn't mean he sucked..the writing (or lack of) did not the character. His return was a waste of a talented actor aside from the PTSD stuff but I didn't feel like Jack overall was damaged by the writing. |

This is where I'm at as well. I want more Jack stories. PTSD is just one of many they could explore further. MA is so damn good when given material. I lose interest in Jennifer without Jack, but that's because I tend to like the grey's or the baddies more than the white hats. Jack gave Jen an edge. She stood up to him and was fearless and wasn't afraid of him when everyone else in town treated him like a pariah. That's the Jen I enjoyed. |

Sami standing in front of the bullet for EJ is all kinds of :cheer: and  and :chee: Seriously. This is what I needed from Sami. Not much more you could do than this little act to make my EJami heart happy right about now. Rock on, Sami girl. As to the rest, I do agree that spreading it out more and having higher stakes would have made this all much more 'must see TV'. Thoughts and intentions were good. Execution missed the mark. I will watch though and will anxiously await to see where it all leads. |

If I were running things, the gala would have gone on longer than just a show. At the same time, I think we're in for a lot more when we return. Mad doesn't leave us until Wednesday of the next week, and Ian the following week. This show sounds good to me. It is a cliffhanger in every sense of the word. I've seen the last scene, and it's action-packed. I've got to give Days credit for what they've done with this. The production values are good, considering it's a soap. And my Ejami-loving heart is in full-tilt. Things couldn't be going better. Sami shielding EJ from her father's gun and Lucas being there to witness Sami's actions speaking louder than words is all kinds of awesome. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I know I'll be  and  during the show tomorrow. I think it's all kinds of good, and Ejami's rocking my world. :cheer:  :cheer: |

I loved that the stories are moving along and that they are entertaining. Each story was well thought out and acted very well. I am enjoying the interactions of various actors whom have not been in scenes together in a very long time. I can not wait to see what will be happening after the Olympics. Wonderful job new writing team please keep it up! Thank You! Edited by sivmac, Jul 26 2012, 07:12 PM.

ITA I think Jack (MA) shone in the few scenes he was in. Even Wednesday's trite Abby/Cameron scenes were worth watching, and the cabin and therapy scenes were absolutely fabulous. The storyline which was weak was the triangle and that was mainly because it was OOC for the real Jennifer and unnecessary because the PTSD was strong enough to be standalone without a third wheel (Daniel) thrown into the mix. Unfortunately it seems that TPTB envisioned the triangle as the main storyline for Jack and when viewers expressed their disappointment (and downright anger) they simply threw jack on the scrapheap rather than running with the story that viewers actually wanted. Why? Who knows - we could speculate and talk it over and over and still not make any sense of it. |

I think it would have been okay to keep EJ & Sami in the forefront, if Jack and Jen had had a SL. This can be said for so many others. Nothing is wrong with Ejami, just that so many other Salemnites and their stories were forgotten and not written. It is not AS or JS's faulty, it DAYS, NBC's, and TIIC. TIIC just didn't get what fans were complaining about, for the most part we love so many of the exisiting characters, we just wanted better writing and more interesting stories. I still would like to know who wanted to bloat the hell of the cast, because this idea is really where misfortune was caused, DAYS could never write good stories with so many great and historicial character, while building new ones like Mad and Ian. Easy come, easy go, except some of the wrong people were on the go. |

At least the new writers have two weeks to fix this whole mess, good luck, they'll need it :P |

You do know that no one at Days is working for the next fortnight, right. It's either tomorrow or Monday that will be there last day. So there will be no fixing of anything until they come back after the Olympics. |

I haven't watched the show in three weeks. Was curious about the cliffhanger. Now that I've read it, I'm glad I don't have to watch. Stupid. |

IMO, they can't fix a damn thing! TPTB & cast will be taping November when they return. As I think of what is going on at DAYS more and more, TPTB have made some ballsy decisions letting PR and MA go, while KA and MR are left to fly solo. Even the thought that Joe M. was on the boot list, it changes the outlook of Salemnites on so many fronts. DAYS either builds a foundation on the original family members of characters or go for broke and bring in a slew of strangers. Things seems so disjointed, I don't have any faith in TomSell to bring it altogether and fix this damn mess. I sure would like to know what they are thinking, beside ED and GV coming to DAYS, adding a Dimera and a Brady (?) into the mix, is interesting but not nearly enough. |

I see that Pat had N/A for the director and scriptwriter for this episode. Was there not one listed? |

So this is the "cliffhanger" then... only if it would end up like the opening of Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. Posted Image Won't happen of course. Edited by Aldo, Jul 26 2012, 07:34 PM.

Don't worry, it didn't look that far up from where Roman and Lucas were standing to where Sami was dangling. The use of the word CATWALK was used way out of context, just like the word BALL. EJami were not on a typical CATWALK, nothing as dangerous and high up as one would like to think. Unless the floor below her crumbles (this is where Lucas and Roman are standing), then Sami will be okay, hell, Lucas could just catch her into his arms if wants too. LOL!! This cliffhanger is starting to seem absurd and funny. Things are just not as extreme, atleast not in today's epi.

Hey I can understand your frustration cause they have misuse Jack a lot since he was back and Jennifer for the longest time was being a right :censored: until recently. Now they have gotten rid of some good characters for a whole bunch of useless people that have never worked out and would likely not work. If you are not apart of the Legacy Family( born as one ) than you shouldn't get so much air time, especially if you have nothing good to say and just make viewers turn off their screens. |
