All these brilliant comedies (Go On, New Normal, Happy Endings, Apt.23) and New Girl are going to kill each other by continuing to air against each other. So frustrating!

And  to the continued decline of the procedural genre!

I'm glad HE is up from its season finale, but that number worries me a lot. I wish it was on NBC where mediocre ratings were considered more than acceptable. I really can't believe that this show doesn't have a bigger audience.

Meanwhile, that really sucks for Apt. 23 -- although, between the two shows, this one's the one I could easily live without if I had to, so I'm glad HE did (marginally) better.

Me too. I much prefer Happy Endings. I love that show. I think as long as those ratings stay decent I think it will probably be renewed, or given the Cougar Town "run-around" treatment. I can see it getting a 4th season simply because they can sell it in syndication, even though I don't if it will be near 88 episodes.

And while I do like Apt. 23, I can see how "mainstream" America wouldn't love it. It can be a little grating and a bit much, though I think it's growing. We'll see.

I like the NBC sitcoms and ABC sitcoms. I like New Girl, I just haven't gotten "into" it yet. Though it's clear the ratings are down and likely due to the similar competition. It's a shame, though I really don't think it's going to hurt any of them. I think lower ratings are a bit more acceptable nowadays for sitcoms. Look at Fox, their sitcoms are average in the ratings at best. New Girl does have the young demo going for it though.

Ben and Kate may last 19 episodes but I don't see it coming back. I'm curious to see it's inevitable replacement Goodwin Games, or whatever it's called. I think it'll fit in better. I'm also sure Raising Hope will see another season for simple syndication reasons alone and like I said, sitcoms nowadays are given a pass because of critical success, IMO, at least. Ratings alone for most sitcoms would have warranted cancellation years ago. Guess we could call it the 'NBC Sitcom Syndrome". BUT, I'm NOT complaining lol. I'm probably trying to convince myself that's the reasoning, although ABC did just finally have enough of not caring about Cougar Town and dumped it. Sigh.

I hope it grows! It's hilarious!

I hope the same for Apt 23. It's funny.

Parenthood is definitely having a resurgence this year. You know it will also get another nice bounce from DVR ratings. It's beating Vegas and Private Practice in the ratings.

Yeah, I'd say Parenthood is safe.
