I think JJ's going to be another disappointment. Realistically what can they do with him except a couple of episodes of him complaining at Jen about her lack of loyalty to Jack, then they'll make him just another Dan worshipper and then banish him upstairs because there's no-one else his age in Salem. Hmm. Different ending. No reference to her "hot date." The last lines are now: "You always forgave him because you loved him. If you want to forget about that, fine. That's on you. 'Cause you're not getting my blessing on this joke of a relationship." Interesting. Yeah, Dannifer are so going to break up because Daniel will "sacrifice himself" by taking off on a surfing trip so Jennifer can be free to tend to her troubled son. |

I guess with the script used in the JJ casting. Daniel is still alive and well. and here I was, hoping EJ was being to be my hero and take him out in an accident he has planned for this november sweeps |

He looks a bit like a grown up version of Chucky. First off, the hair must be cut. Secondly, I actually like his audition. He's hostile and rude and calls the Dannifer relationship a joke. :hail: So far, I like his and the crazy eyes kid versions of JJ the best. |

He's okay. More low-key than some of them, and the dialogue seems to have been softened, which I'm not too keen on. I kind of preferred JJ blasting his fickle mom to kingdom come. Crazy Eyes still does that awfully well. Also, can't say I ever pictured J&J's son as a ginger. He'd need some kind of makeover to tame or color that hair if he gets the part. |

I'm tired of seeing the Horton families ripped a part. This show is so fucked up. They are contantly presenting the Dimeras as some united front while wrecking and separating the good families. But what do I expect from a show where lately evil always comes out on top. They need a story that brings together the people we care about. Not continue to degrade and tear them apart. And we don't need another whiny ass kid hating his parent on this show. Edited by Aliaron, Nov 1 2012, 01:30 PM.

For reals. Jack's son needs to be classy. He's Jack's son for crying out loud, don't try to make him into a mini-TanMan! |

Kate Mansi is naturally a dark brunette and obviously she dyes it blonde for the show. So, I don't really view hair color as a big issue. On the other hand, I do believe that Days tries to cast actors with a certain "look" to them and I'm not sure he has that "look." He's a better actor than many of the other submissions I've seen, and a Google search shows that he does have some acting credits in known shows. But when's the last time Days casted on acting ability more than looks? |

This is true. DAYS really needs to go back to basics. The DiMeras should be plotting and scheming together... but it should be necessary BECAUSE John & Marlena, the Bradys and the Hortons are so strong and united. General Hospital is really going back to a time when the show was popular and really working. Jason's gone, some beloved vets/old characters are returning. DAYS sort of did the same in 2011, except they didn't use them at all. They didn't even try. GH are using their vets, B&B are giving Flannery a long, somewhat-respectful exit from what I hear, Y&R seems to be trying to fix their mess... Time for DAYS execs to be brutually honest with themselves and realize that the writer's/exec's favorites aren't necessarily the fans' and DO something. The ratings are up, but they are still sucky. Do I believe that a John & Marlena/Kristen story can do some good for the ratings? Hell yeah, it did before. But they can't do it alone anymore, because they went from basically zilch to being on, and history isn't being respected. The show, seriously... needs someone like Sheri Anderson, who not only knows the show, but LOVES it. She knows the core of the show. Someone like her, along with someone else. The last time I actually enjoyed the show... was Sheffer's time. And I know people hated how that ended up, so did I, but I actually believe Casiello when he says Sheffer was stuck between a rock and a hard place when he was told he could use the vets 1 day a week, max. But I loved the John & Marlena we saw in October, November and December. Yes, the wedding wasn't tops, but that was the fountain's fault and audio's, not writing or acting. They can't bring back Kristen, throw her at Brady and John & Marlena, and not actually USE the history of it. I love seeing Brady so committed to his mom and dad, I do... but it won't last. Half-mentions and re-writing history is not utilizing the characters. This show has no real villain. NICOLE is not a real villain. She's a misguided woman, with a bad history, who has done some bad shit, but she is not evil. KRISTEN was evil, and they have her back, for crying out loud, USE IT. |

I keep reading that people think SC will leave at the end of this contract but I can't see why he would. He's over 40 so acting jobs are more limited, soaps are an endagered species and he is the writers'pet, continually being given front burner stories. Why would he want to leave? i think Dannibore are here to stay. Fine, but I wont stop wanting my Jack back. |

He was also in charge when Dena Higley was writing. And the ratings were in the toilet which was why he was fired in the first place. His writing was crap then and it's crappier the second time around. Edited by LanaluvsBroe, Nov 1 2012, 05:02 PM.

I will concede that there might have been a time when Tomlin was a good writer. Heck, he might be a good writer still. But he hasn't shown much evidence of that lately. As for saving the show, he's credited with being able to save money and write within a budget. He's also apparently one of the architects (as EP) of taping months in advance -- again to save money. So yes, he's a darling of the execs who care about saving money. But, ultimately, has he saved the show or only hastened its demise? Depends on how you look at it, I guess. The ratings are what they are. He might have been able to bring them up in the past (I don't know), but he hasn't done much since MarDar left to stop the freefall, and has even achieved new record lows in certain categories. And the trajectory for sweeps doesn't look that great. I agree with someone who posted earlier/elsewhere that we need not only a good writer, but someone who actually loves the show, its characters, and its legacy -- not just someone who will cynically manage it and exploit it into the ground. |

Whatever GT did to supposedly "save" the show in the past sure isn't working this go-round. Times change, people move on, and tastes alter. Something comparatively fresh and interesting four years ago is stale and boring now. Not nearly enough time has passed to make T&W's material feel like anything other than a tired retread of what they put on the last time they were in charge. Yesterday's savior is today's scapegoat. |

Wednesday November 7: Daniel asks Rafe for help with finding Nicole. Nicole unleashes all her paranoia on to Jenn about coming between her and Daniel. Nicole declares she's going to recant her statement to the police. Daniel informs both Nicole and Jenn of the truth! EJ plans an "accident" for Daniel... Marlena asks John to handle repairs at the Horton cabin on Smith Island and he's not alone! Although at this point why anyone even entertains the thought that EJ would be successful at anything amazes me. Edited by concerned, Nov 1 2012, 05:17 PM.
