Kiriakis mansion - Part 2: Jen - Nicole was going to make me pay for her losing her baby. Maggie - Even though you weren't to blame. Jen - I think it was just hard for her to face the truth that it was her fault.
What was Nicole's fault - that she lost her baby? That she fell down the stairs, and wasn't pushed as she'd earlier claimed.

That she fell down the stairs, and wasn't pushed as she'd earlier claimed. Though she didn't lose the baby because of that...not that everyone knows that though.

Jennifer really seems to think she had no invlovment with Nicole's baby's death. After the truth is revealed I wish EJ would ask if constantly arguing with the mother and threatening her could that have put too much stress on the baby and in return caused him to be stillborn? And Daniel finally saying, "Yes" And then cut to Jennifer with guilt written all over her face. That's what called a twist which sadly Days doesn't know how to do.

Psychologically, she always had the upper hand on Stefano because he was obsessed with her and objectified her. Kristen wanted her dead. I would agree if Marlena had cowered in a corner when all of Kristen's original misdeeds occurred. She didn't. Go back and watch...Marlena wasn't this rattled when Kristen pointed a gun at point blank range. So I repeat, the reaction we're seeing onscreen doesn't make sense or ring true to the Marlena we've seen since 1976.

At last, EJ admits he is obsessed with Sami! This episode sounds alright, except Kabe (which has been rare these days) is so skimpy, as someone said above, and Sami is still such a dumbass. Dannifer sounds sweet, but this whole saga is overdone...like..yesterday. Sweet? As in have some candy little girl (sorry just had to use a Jack quote there;)). I didn't find it the least bit sweet. They really need to stop trying to sell Dannifer as some self sacrificing tortured soulmates kept apart by evil schemes and fate. If they want to be together so badly just do it and put us out of the misery of having to watch and read about their "heartbreaking angst"

So I repeat, the reaction we're seeing onscreen doesn't make sense or ring true to the Marlena we've seen since 1976. This is very true. And honestly, Marlena doing something "underhanded" as long as it's not evil to get prepared is more in character than this has ever been. The only time Marlena ever freaked out when facing an enemy was when she saw Stefano in 1993, and that was because she was like two days away from labor and had just cheated on her husband.
She was calm and collected when Kellam, who had been a crazy SOB, showed up at her door and seemed crazier than usual. She only ceased to be when he started to attack her, and during and after the rape.
Before she knew just how evil Kritter was (and thought she'd just told a few lies)... she was still on guard and trying to be two steps ahead. I get that everyone has their weakness. Kristen is NOT Marlena's. And this is not the perfect time to show a Marlena breakdown (for that, go back to 2000-2001's Brady/Hope/JT mess Marlena-wise, perfect fucking time and they blew it).

Come on Jen and Dan, Jack's out of the way, just jump each other's bones - you know you want to. :moon: "Sweet" - not quite the word I'd use to describe these two.

What was Nicole's fault - that she lost her baby?
Because the right thing to do when a woman loses her baby is to blame her for the baby's death. Jennifer Horton disgusts me. OKay so they have me at the point where the only truly interesting thing is to read others posts because even the Day's ahead reading is pukeworthy.
Nicole yet again butchered for the sake of Dannifer - Now Jennifer is saying it's Nicole fault she lost her baby, what a bitch. Sorry but Bitchifer will never again be a watchable character for me. :x

If "common decency" had ever been an obstacle for Dannifer, the stupid dating scenario last fall would never have taken place. Once it was known what had really happened to Jack, Daniel would have backed off and/or Jennifer would have dropped everything to help her PTSD-stricken husband.
The only thing keeping these nitwits apart now is his ego-driven reluctance (so what else is new?) to compete with a dead man's memory and her ongoing concern with how she appears to the rest of the town. Because based on how fast Dr. Douche dumped Nicole once he knew Jennifer was widowed, and how quickly Jen-Jen began obsessing over Daniel's love life once Jack's ashes were spread, it's clear nothing else is standing in their way.
Fine. Whatever. Their "great love" will last about as long as it takes for Daniel to get an eyeful of Chloe's assets--and then he'll be "torn" between them. Let the games begin. The duo that triumphs will be the one GT has the bigger hard-on for.

I disagree. If Dannifer were a good couple and could stand alone they wouldn't have to keep destroying any obstacle they probably wouldn't overcome with fair writing. Jack was killed off to make them happen and they're still hated so that says that they aren't that good. Everything that happens between them is contrived to sell them as soulmates..well Jennifer already had a soulmate but they had to get rid of him because he was in the way of Dannifer. But to each their own..I will never like them or think they're anything close to a "good" couple.

Yeah, I can't buy Dannifer as a "good couple," either. I could maybe see friendship or even 'they look cute together" (maybe). But a good couple? No. Maybe it's because in order to try to make them work so many things have been contrived and manufactured. Even now, this whole leaning against each side of the door in longing as if they are star-crossed lovers kept apart by circumstances is just fake and contrived.
It's been like that since the beginning. To put them together, the writers had to dumb down Jennifer's character considerably to make her incurious about her husband's walkabout whereabouts and to make her blind to Daniel's many glaring faults. This formerly feisty and strong woman forgot all about her kids and her career so she could fret like a teenager over how she looked and what she was going to wear. Meanwhile, they had Daniel instantly forget all about his wife, who supposedly was his true love up until then. They rushed the two together with no build-up and only a few "cute" dates followed by some "cute" hand-holding, etc., etc. Other than the "cute" factor that some claim to see and like, there is nothing about Dannifer that speaks of great love and a lasting relationship.
Another reason I can't buy them as a good couple is that this all reminds me way too much of Colin. Back then, Jennifer once again was shown to see the guy as some kind of perfect doctor while the audience saw him sleeping with various women around town and conspiring with the DiMeras. This time, while Daniel might not be a full-on, mustache-twirling villain, we are still shown aspects of him that are unseemly and imo sleazy. He has all the characteristics of an interloper and yet the show is pushing him as "endgame." As others have mentioned, that disconnect is jarring.
No matter how many Salemites say it and no matter how much the show tries to convince us, Daniel is not a good guy. He's a user, he's shallow and selfish. His track record is mostly about dropping one woman to move onto the next as soon as things get a little complicated or the woman needs him in some real, committed way. Sorry, but Jennifer, even as unrecognizable and unpleasant as she is now being written, deserves a lot better than this guy.
On that last point, it's sad that what's tying the two together most at the moment is their mutual tendency to be blind to their own faults while blaming others. MR called it their "brokenness together." Others might call it hypocrisy. Either way, that's all that's giving them anything close to any kind of forward momentum, and it ain't pretty (nor is it entertaining) to watch.

I think Jennifer thinks she didn't have involvement in the baby's death because that's the truth. NICOLE is the one that decided to move into Jen's home to cause issues between Jen/Daniel. NICOLE is the one that decided to keep EJ from his baby. NICOLE is the one that drove an elaborate cover-up of the paternity switch. Now, I doubt that stress really was the cause of the baby's death, but if it was, then it was NICOLE that kept creating/driving stressful situations. And I say this as somebody who likes Nicole most of the time and is currently pissed at Jen because of her lack of grieving over Jack.
