Please post all interesting/spoilerish tweets in this thread. If a news article or new video is also tweeted (for example by SOD or NBC), it should probably go in its own thread, following our normal rules. This thread is for tweets, usually from someone on the list below, which give us information in some way about anything related to the show or upcoming storylines. Please link each tweet and then set it off in italics, quotes or a quote box. To link a tweet, click "expand" and then click "details". That will give you the link to the tweet on its own page. If this is difficult (ie posting from a phone), please at least set off the tweet in quotation marks. If anyone has names to add to this thread, please PM them to me rather than putting them in the thread. There are unfortunately a lot of fake accounts out there, and we want to verify each account is legit before putting it in this list. I have entered the below list as a "Twitter List" under the DaytimeRoyalty twitter account. To access it, go to http://twitter.com/DaytimeRoyalty/days-of-our-lives Then click "Follow this list". It will then appear in your lists. Does that mean that if all they see is us going back & forth about Will/Gabi/etc and Safe vs EJami, then they'll assume that we want more of them front & center? I think that the Days PR people need to understand that characters that aren't often the center of conversation aren't necessarily not being discussed because no one cares about them, but rather because they don't have a big enough story, or aren't featured enough in the episode to warrant endless discussion. For example, the Kayla/Abe/Hope/Ciara/Theo scenes from today's episode were adorable and a joy to watch, but there's no real story there, and there's not much to discuss - there's nothing controversial. (I do think that Kristian, Mary Beth, and James are all worthy of more than they're being given.) There's a whole group of characters that I think that most of us would agree that we would like to see more of & feel like the actors are being underutilized (such as the ones i just mentioned). Mini-rant over. |

I do believe all of the back and forth between fans of Sami, EJ, Nicole and Rafe, in whatever order you want to have them in, is what makes those in charge of the show, creatively, believe that's what the majority of the audience wants to see. Whether the majority of discussion is negative or not, those characters bring on discussion and that's what TPTB likes. |

Are you saying that DAYS PR department do the exact opposite of fans bitch about or want most? If DAYS's PR department read the board as oftern as they say, then why are we being sujected to some of the worst crap, pairings and SLs that ppl hate. It doesn't make sense to do Dannifer 2.0 or Sami and her harem of men...it is so repetitive...With all the good ideas and discussions that happen on this board. DAYS' should not be struggling for great material and fans should be 10ox happier than they are. I would love to come praise DAYS every day for making an awsome soap .... I am just waiting for it to happen. So much potential, still not the perfect mix. |

they shove those characters down our throats so much that if no one says anything about them, then one would assume that no one watched the show. if there were more balance on the show, then there would be other characters to talk about and discuss. also, i know a lot of people who stopped posting here because all they kept seeing was endless back & forth about EJami & Safe, and it was always the same song and dance. I often avoid the daily discussion threads for basically that reason. and if the endless discussion isn't Safe vs EJami, it's a debate surrounding Will/Sonny/Gabi, which almost always seems to turn nasty if just one person mentions a conservative view, or it's about Dannifer/Nicole, but even that doesn't last as long as the first. for me personally, if Sami & her boatload of men she's slept with all left Salem, i wouldn't miss them at all, and maybe, just maybe, it would give other characters a chance to have their own stories, or even simply get adequate amounts of air time in the episodes they appear in. The last few weeks before Bo left, he barely got more than 5-6 min per episode, while other characters were getting over 10 min. They weren't going anywhere. Why couldn't those stories take a back burner so that an iconic character that first appeared almost 30 years ago got a proper amount of airtime for his exit? |

:iagree: I feel the same way. That's pretty much what's wrong with the show. Sami has overshadowed everyone & everything on the show. She's overshadowed Bo, Hope, John, Marlena, Lucas, Nicole & just about everyone more deserving of good storylines and airtime. And I was a fan of Sami, but now I hate her & this show for letting her hog airtime & men and just the entire show. I'm tired of Sami & her vortex of suck. I'm tired of this show and their out of whack priorities. |

YOU may not like Daniel/Jennifer or Sami and whichever man she's paired with, but some people do. I, for one, don't mind Daniel and Jennifer. I liked them together before Jack arrived, and I'm not particularly minding them now. It's the pacing of the story that doesn't do them much justice. I think after Jack died, Tomlin/Whitesell should've had Jennifer lay low for a few months. Just supporting other storylines. Then, if they wanted to revisit Daniel and Jennifer, I would be behind it 100%. Right now, I'm behind them about 75% due to the timing. |

I was watching "Sofia the First" on Disney with my 5-year-old daughter, and in every commercial break there was Alison Sweeney with her daughter talking about the movie and about how you could watch it "with" them this Saturday (I think at 8:00 a.m. EST). I think she already hosted a telecast for it and they're just rerunning it this weekend. Fans might enjoy it - but I wanted to punch the Sween in the face for putting her baby on television (I have an issue with this. See also: the Gosselin family). |

I'm beginning to think we should just use reverse psychology on TPTB, considering they seem to do the opposite of what most seem to want. I think I'm going to start posting lovey dovy posts about certain overexposed and overrated characters and maybe just maybe they'll go away. :poof: Yeah wishful thinking, I know. |

Let's try it. I really really want to watch EJ act like an obsessive pussy repeatedley over Samanther, as that has NEVER been done! I really really like how Nicole's past as a hooker and her other issues are constantly brought up but others whitewashed like we need reminding of Nicole's past. I also really really like that everyone especially Sami seems to have short term memory loss and is drinking the Salem stupid juice constantly. I really really like how Jennifer could careless about Jack as Dr orangeballs is the BEST!! Great job PTB! Edited by Helpless Romantic, Nov 19 2012, 11:01 PM.

I'm relieved to know that I am not just paranoid and tptb really have been fucking with me this whole time. I've been at a loss to explain how they always managed to do the opposite of what I want and then do it so crappily. |

I don't necessarily think it's true that tptb only go by which characters are being discussed. Shelle got a lot of good and bad discussion and they had no problem dumping them. Also, if you're wanting to do reverse psychology, then don't mention the characters you hate at all. Continuing to talk about them just in a different way isn't going to help and is pretty transparent. |

I've always thought it wasn't what people said but the amount of discussion that tptb paid more attention to. However, if tptb really doesn't want a character on screen, they are gone, regardless of what fans think. That seems to override everything, IMO.

While I think it's great TPTB are checking this site (and any others) for fan feedback at the end of the day it's just one of the aspects they consider when developing stories. And because of the super advanced shooting schedule it's difficult to see any sort of immediate reaction to stories. So while they probably get a good idea as to which characters generate discussion (good or bad) I don't know that what we say here (or elsewhere) really impacts the story direction because it's already three months ahead of what we're seeing. With that said, though - I have to think it's pretty easy to pick out biases and take those posts with a grain of salt (mine included). If they see posters sporting banners featuring pairings they love and ripping apart any 'interlopers' to their potential happiness then it's probably a good bet they sense an agenda. Or when they see a post that starts off with a statement like "this makes me glad I'm no longer watching this show" it's probably not all that likely they go on to read what the poster thinks about an episode or story they've already said they haven't watched. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall as the PR team is perusing the internet and reading some of our posts here and elsewhere, though. I'd love to know if they crack up at some of the same posts I do or just roll their eyes and move on. |
