It's hard for me to get excited about Will and Sonny, singly or together. Mainly because neither of them is doing anything all that interesting. I just can't work up any enthusiasm about Will knocking up Salem's most insipid ingenue in such an obviously plot-driven development. i'm even less invested in the forthcoming nuptials of said ingenue to her increasingly controlling, religious hypocrite of a boyfriend.

Sonny's activities are pretty boring too. He may be more mature than Will, but like him, he's stranded in 20something land, with little interaction with anyone older or more compelling, and this young set is among the dullest DAYS has ever had.

Gone, But Not Forgotten!

Ejami scenes were cutsy and fun that's all I got. This was clearly TPTB parallel attempt to show Ejami in a scene similar to SAFE the other week. TPTB are trying to show that Sami is not all about sex. She can talk and walk and laugh and play. In the Horton House, another lazy attempt by writers, it made zero sense. Abigail is upstais with all the kids....how big is the horton house anyway?
I loved Johnny, the best acting he's done in a long time.

Dannifer, all I got is bitching... so I think I will refrain today, they are just not worth my time.

Yes, but we are all still watching it, reading about it and posting about it all the time, so who's right really, us or them?
This has been my point for a while now. They have no reason to change things up, and I think they'll continue doing a rotation like they've been doing with bones here and there either until we shut up or the show is cancelled. We like to whine and complain and we happily accept any and all bones, so there's really no reason to do a good story, lol.
I'm not a big shipper but for a long time I did like the idea if EJ and Sami together but unless there is more profound discussion between the two about their sordid history I really don't care. I don't like the on/off schmoopy stupidness of their relationship(or any relationship for that matter).

I liked the idea of a sordid affair between the two because as a secret relationship they could have been smokin' and only semi-addressed their history. If they want a romantic relationship for these two anti-heroes it needs to loose the saccharin coating.

Actually I think that's what ruins most if these couples, the instantaneous nature of true love and happiness over the process of working through the challenges. It removes all drama and payoff.
I agree with much of this. I'm still sucked in fairly easily by decent EJami scenes and although I've yet to see the scenes for today's show they sound good. However, this is far from my preferred story for EJami. My concern is TPTB feel that in order to go with EJami they have to change EJ into a dull as dishwater Brady wanna-be instead of having Sami embrace her legendary vixen side. A big part of the allure of EJami for me in the beginning was both characters were fun villains. Sami hasn't been a villain in ages, and EJ's villain skills have been seriously muted. I'd have no problem watching EJami wreak havoc on the people around them while still having one another's back. (and front ;) ) Unfortunately, I've given up hope we'll ever see them go there.
Agreed. Can't EJ being, well, powerful and sexy and charming be enough? Can't he have a relationship(s) with another woman (or women) that makes Sami wonder what's she's missing? I like to think that if EJ finally "found himself" and acted more like Sami's boss, she'd be intrigued enough to forget about, um, that other sap.

That being said, I saw bits of the show today and all I could think of was how HORRID Sami looked. She wears the most awful clothes that have so sense of class or "young executive". The skirt looked way too tight and the the yellow made her look like a big bee.

Now, about a secret EJ/Sami relationship. It could be delicious - if it were behind St. Rafe and Marlena's backs.

I think James and Ali stopped having chemistry years ago and I don't find either character rootable in any pairing, but all you have to do is look at this thread compared to other recent daily threads to see why they keep going there and even though it's a lot of negative, it's still more discussion than an episode has gotten in weeks. At least this time the back and forth isn't all about them. Maybe with the addition of Eric there will finally be something new to talk about.
I think this is bang on. I haven't really watched or posted for a while - until I caught the EJ/Sami scenes today. Interesting.

#SorryNotSorry

Saw most of this -- weird show with EJ/Sami hanging out in the Horton house and Abigail not around. Nicole and Eric were good to see (especially shirtless disturbed-in-his-sleep Eric), and I like that the build is slow for now. Brady and Kristen had better chemistry today but the setup is still awkward. It's not doing much for me, but if it helps give him a character I guess I'm game, but he's going to need better motivations. Will/Nick/Gabi were the highlight again for me. So freaking soapy and real story to mine there. I'm loving that.

Oh, and Dannifer. This story is stupid. I don't have a problem with them, but they need better material than Dan's shaky hands and Jennifer, the harlot of false hope.

Pretty much all this. I'm all for Ejami, but I can't behind the sicky-sweet stuff. Not only is it inconsistent with the characters, but the actors are horrible at it. Ejami pre-CH was much more entertaining when EJ was just trying to seduce her. I feel like TPTB have just become so sucky at writing couples. It's all generic schmoop.

Well. I'm glad we spent 16 pages talking about this episode that I thought sucked all the way around.

Hardly anything in it made sense. The Daniel/tremor story made the least sense. Seriously. His tremors are permanent now but weren't before? Then what was the problem? It's like...the premise of Maggie blaming Jennifer and Jennifer feeling guilty sounds great on paper, but the story they came up with made absolutely zero sense. And the fact that they're all so serious about it when none of their dialogue makes sense is almost infuriating. Jennifer leaning against the door at the end was absolutely moronic.

The Bristen scene picked up where it left off on Friday. Which was a problem when the first scene has no dialogue other than "Brady". I couldn't remember where we left off, and it was just bad. I think I tuned out during the rest of their scenes. Until...the music started. Which BTW...if you've read tomorrow's recap, I wondered if there was a connection between the lyrics and the weird timing, lol.

I don't have much to say about Nick/Gabi/WIll today, but I thought Chandler Massey was especially bad.

The Ejami scenes were eh. I was happy to have something lighthearted, but much like the Daniel stuff, their stuff just didn't make much sense. Why were they laying on the floor? Why is EJ involved in any of this anyway? The stupidity of them staying alone at the Horton house was just glaring. The Johnny stuff wasn't so bad. James and whichever Kunitz were good. Ali was as stiff as a board as she always is with kids, so it's a good thing they keep putting more of them in her orbit. Didn't care for the folder fight. Might as well have been a tickle fight.

Whoever directed today did a shoddy job. The camera angles and blocking were bad pretty much all episode. The worst was when EJ and Sami were lying on the floor.

How does Daniel decide when to call Maggie mom and when to call her Maggie?

Absolutely agree. Today's show stunk up the TV screen. Sami reminded me of a junior high girl jumping around her locker after a boy took her book away from her, and Ej was no better. Johnny was by far the best actor of the day.

I thought them laying on the floor was to indicate how long they've been working on the new campaign. That didn't really bother me at all. In fact, the only thing that bothered me was them going to the Horton house. First of all, I thought it was weird they were having Abigail watching the kids. I guess Allie is her cousin, so there is a connection. Why couldn't we see Abigail though? Anything. Even just a scene or two. They don't seem to have a problem having people show up midway through an episode or disappearing midway through an episode. It's happened to several characters since Tomlin/Whitesell stated writing. And why can't it ever be Allie or Sydney that gets the attention? Maybe it's because the actors playing Johnny are more outgoing than those playing Allie and Sydney. Recast! The Johnny propping is so aggravating!

Maggie is such a bitch! I don't mind Daniel being her son, or that she's obviously going to care for him. That's all fine with me. What I don't like is how they're not even taking into consideration the relationship/bond Maggie and Jennifer have had for years. It would be okay for Maggie to be upset with Jennifer, but please at least give us some sort of indication that Maggie are and have always been closer than Maggie and Daniel. The way the scenes played out today, it seemed like Maggie raised Daniel since birth, and just met Jennifer a few years ago, so she was able to go off on her the way she did. That's been the biggest problem with Maggie being Daniel's mother. It's like any relationship she had prior to finding out Daniel was her son comes in as second best. Annoying!

Kristen and Brady were hot. The music playing over their scenes was not.

I hope at some point, it gets brought up that Will has a problem with Nick raising his child due to what happened in his own childhood with Austin and Lucas.

I agree. I'm fine with some cutesy moments, but it's been a bit much.
SAFE's picnic, date at the Pub, and at the coffee house where they discussed bad service & sandwiches
WilSon's pinky swears; silly string fight
NABI talking about astronomy (while gazing at the stars through the roof over the HTS?)

All the recent date/flirty scenes have been kind of childish or something... Or as you said, 'generic schmoop'
