I can't help but roll my eyes to all the people who think Michael and Lauren should stay together, those two haven't had good chemistry for years now and something needs to be done to shake them up. Most boring couple on Y&R right now! Besides maybe Lane ofcourse
As for michael and Lauren, I'm surprised they are still together.. think that might change soon. who knows.
IMO it's a good thing at least one marriage has lasted a very long time in the show, and Lauren's upcoming affair with Carmine is random and unrealistic.
Suddenly Lauren is frustrated and bored, decides to have an affair with a new hottie? No way.

They baked cookies as a family and told Faith a little about her sister she will never meet. Sheesh. It's realistic. Most parents don't forget the day their child was born, even if they are gone.
Let's face it... it's because Cassie was Nick and Sharon's daughter. That is most likely why it gets such hate.

IMO it's because Cassie was Sharon's daughter, not Nick's. If Cassie was a Newman, not a child Sharon had with another man, it would not
be such hatred. SMH. People transferring their hate for Sharon onto her daughter. :fp2:

Let's hope she stays there

The Cassie mentions never bother me. I love them. They are realistic and I agree that Cassie was an important part of the show.

I would love to see someone shake up the Michael and Lauren marriage, I never thought they had a lick of chemistry anyways.

I'm never bothered by the Cassie mentions. She was such an important part of the show, even as a little girl. Her no longer being in Genoa City has definitely left a void in town, especially in the Newman family.

Lauren and Carmine intrigue me. If Michael can't appreciate the hot wife he has, I'm glad it seems Carmine can.
Cassie was a important part of the show when she first came on the show. After that she was just Nick and Sharon's daughter. I am sick of the memorial every damn year. They give no memorial to John Abbott who was a important part of the show for many many years. I don't want to see him anymore then we see him but damn he was a much more appreciated and beloved member of the cast then Cassie ever thought about being > To bake her favorite cookie on her birthday was a joke. I myself wish they would just drop the Cassie memorial shit and get on with life like I did when I lost my son 25 years ago. You cannot dwell on a persons death over and over. Sure you mourn them forever but you don't do the crap that Sharon and Nick do to honor them. cassie telling NIck he would have another daughter is another joke of a s/l. I am sure she meant for her dad to go knock up her unmarried mother and have the Miracle baby Faith. THey are making a mockery of Cassie's death and that is all it comes down to. A lot of people on the other boards are saying they are as sick of the Cassie crap as I am and some said they weren't even going to bother watching todays show because they were sick of Cassie crap year after year after year.
I'm going to disagee with you on that one, John gets mentioned many times. He was just on a few times, there is nothing wrong with them remembering Cassie. Killing off cassie is what got characters to where they are now.. I see nothing wrong with it. From what I have seen many people were very impressed with today's episode. Can't please them all I guess.
John gets mentioned but he doesn't get a memorial every year, in fact, I don't ever remember a family outing to the cemetary at all.
Sharon & Nick both acted like Noah was commiting a sacrilege by not wanting to go with them to the cemetary.

again with the "hate", baloney, just sick of it, every damn year. I would feel the same about any character who was dead for years and was still getting birthday celebrations.
Nobody is "transferring" anything.

There's also a lot of people who complain when birthdays don't get mentioned, so I guess you can't please everyone.

We had Summer's birthday in December too

My mother dwells on the dead, she remembers more when they died than when they were born, or how they lived their life. One time a relative asked about another relative's age and mom started by saying "well let's see she DIED" but the problem was the relative is still LIVING and I told her that she wasn't dead yet. That's how mom remembers people when they died, and I'm afraid to mention the date because she'll find somebody that died that day, I will mention its so and so's birthday and she'll say oh somebody else died today so many years ago. It gets tiresome, but back to the story I wish they had let Cassie live but they did get a lot of story from her dying on the show, really all Sharon and Nick need to do is remember to each other that she died that day and let it go. Daniel doesn't remember, Phyllis doesn't remember, and like it was said Faith will never know her sister, I had an aunt who passed away at 10 years old and I never knew her but I know every thing about the day she died not so much her birth but yes the day she died.

I guess the only beef I'd have with it is that it seems to be the only major death that is celebrated on the show regularly. We don't see the Abbotts celebrating John's birthday for example well, they don't need to b/c he appears so often! What about Dru? or Colleen? I wouldn't mind other deceased characters get some attn as well. Spread the love. Doesnt have to be every year but a mention every so often wouldn't hurt. I wouldn't mind if Billy, in this current feud, brought up that Victor wouldn't be alive if not for Colleen's heart...somethng like that.

I can understand why they do keep Cassie at the forefront tho. Her death resulted in the downfall of one of the biggest supercouples on the show.

I'm going to agree with people that have said if this were any other couple on the show that lost a child, nobody would have a problem with it. Nobody complained when Chelsea and Adam did the gifts the other day to remember their kid, nobody would be saying anything if Tracy came back every so often often to remember colleen, but because it is whom it is it's got to be a big deal that they just wipe it under the rug and forget it. Like it or not Cassie's death effected a lot of characters and has put characters where they are today..

The Cassie mentions never bother me. I love them. They are realistic and I agree that Cassie was an important part of the show.

Cassidy Newman was a beloved child who character brought about a tide of story arcs for many yrs to come outside of just Nick and Sharon... Matt Clarke and Frank, Alice & Millie Johnson s/l then added the CHESTER Al was added it gave character's Grace,Tony and Michael major story SO having Once or twice a yr celebratory never bothers me and many others either but it sure does nudge underneath some folk feelings I also like what MG said about her story in his recent MSN Entertainment Interview.

Quote:

During his run in Genoa City, Graziadei's character got wrapped up in an art forgery scam, got in over his head when he, Amber and Kevin stole money from a corpse, and like his father Danny before him, was drugged by a woman hoping to impregnate herself. As fans know, Daisy managed to succeed with Daniel where Phyllis had failed with Danny Sr..
There was also Daniel's online porn addiction, which Graziadei joked was his favorite storyline, but his biggest story was the death of Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes). Daniel almost took the wrap for the car accident that killed Nick and Sharon's daughter and for a time, believed he was guilty. The painful tale fueled the Daniel/Lily loves story and sent the teens on the run, while also serving as a public service storyline about drinking and driving and under-aged driving.
"It's probably the most serious one that I've had," Graziadei said of that story. "It dealt with something that everyone can relate to and take away from - As opposed to being raped by some woman and being drugged or stolen money - or whatever the flavor of the week was! That was my first real storyline, too. The first one that kind of belonged to me."

I don't mind dead characters being remembered. Although, I wish we could see Victoria visit her daughter's grave too (or was she cremated...or?) I'd never watched YR before 2010, so I don't know much. I only know Victoria gave birth to a baby girl who died. Weird they never mention her. Especially after Victoria lost Lucy. Oh well....

If I remember correctly, Cole and Victoria named her Eve ...and I think it was his mother's name. I dont kno if she has a grave or not. I think she might. It was so long ago.
