What I don't get is why they can't seem to write her feelings for J&M on a more moderate, less simplified level; it's either one extreme or the other.

I felt like MarDar's reversal of Sami/ John & Marlena relationship was a regression based on what we saw from 2007 onward so I like the dynamic that Sami has with them. Sami had no problem with John/Marlena from 1999-2002 and from 2007-2011. Like Lysie said in another post, her hatred for them was primarily a JER/MarDar thing.
