O'Brien is gone, let the party begin.
I knew the nanny was off when she started telling the servant do things for her.
I am glad that Lady Mary walked in to the nursery. She should have called the police and escorted her off the property.
Lady Mary finally got out of her pitiful state and returned back to the land of the living and rejoiced when Matthew inheritance left her 50% of DA.
Robert still living in the dark ages about women and business.

It was Lady Grantham that walked into the nursery, not Lady Mary. And she wouldn't call the police for something such as that. Such an action would have brought light to something the family would want kept 'in house'. She didn't even tell Mrs. Hughes what had happened and Mrs. Hughes works for the family and is trustworthy enough not to spread gossip about.

As for someone to escort Nanny West off the property, Carson could have done that with ease if asked to do so, but again...that draws attention to it. The gossip amongst the staff as they try to figure out what happened will be enough without something like the woman being escorted off the property being added to it.

Thanks for clearing up the names of the women.

Unfortunately, everything seems to be on tonight for me...Downton Abbey, Girls, True Detective, Revenge, Bob's Burgers....and then there's the Golden Globes. I'll be catching up on one night of television all week!

The show is better than last week. I like the comedy between Lord Brantham (sp) and Mr. Carson.

I am glad that LG mother is trying to get Matthew's mother out of her depressed state.
Mary is finally becoming tolerable to me because i always thought Matthew was to good for her.

Oh no, I can't believe they did that to Anna. She must wish she had listened to her husband when he tried to warn her about that awful man.

Rape is a serious crime and its not Anna fault, period. The man approached her and she said No.
If he cared for his wife, he should have escorted home.

I didn't mean I was blaming her, but I think she is feeling bad that her husband didn't trust him.

I am sure a lot of that happened to servants back then. Anna doesn't I can't remember his name, is her husband name John, want him to know because he would kill the man and end up back in prison.

I actually wondered if we are going to see a Lindbergh-esque kidnapping story. This seems like the kind of thing that comes back later to bite them.

lysie: I agree, up until the time they killed Mathew, the show for me was fun to watch.

Having that happen to Anna, I don't know if I can stand watching a season of misery.

I did like the comedy around Lord Grantham and Mr. Carson, and what Emma paramour did about the poker game.

God, what happened to Anna was so sad. Reminded me of when Sybil and Matthew died. Although I did get a bad feeling when I saw the advisory at the beginning of the episode.

I'd hate to be Tom the next morning. You just know that new girl is up to no good.

Oh, I'm not having trouble watching. I might be having a little trouble separating myself from the characters though.

The issue with the gambling -- I can't decide if that was a plot device to endure Edith's beau to Grantham or if it's something that will come back later. It also makes me wonder what's going to happen when we get to 1929-1930..
