I guess I still miss Mathew, and too many new characters at once.

I am having trouble getting back into the "I have to watch every second feeling."
Even though I watch every episode, this season isn't grabbing my attention like the past seasons have.

Feb. 16 episode: I watched but the fire seem to be gone from the show.

I really miss Matthew. Even Thomas seems to have trouble to be able to blackmail anyone to further his schemes.

I feel the same way, it seems like Mary has two suitors and she still can't move past Matthew. I am glad that she is spending time with her son, George.

I watched the final show of the season. It was pretty good and it looks like a good set up for next season of shows.

I still don't feel the joy that the previous seasons brought me and the need to watch all of it. So far, none of Mary's wannabe suitors seem worth watching her with or make me root for them.

Lady Edith as lost her mind, in giving up her child.
I enjoyed Lady Cora mother played by Shirley McLaine. I loved how she turned down the Lord because she was comfortable in her life and she could introduce him to some of her friends who wanted a titled British aristocrat as a husband.
I found Lady Cora brother creepy(nothing against the actor).
I just hope Season five is the last and final season because this season was dull and bland.

Both Maggie Smith and Elizabeth McGovern have hinted they might leave after season five. I don't think the show can survive losing both of them. So, if they do intend to leave, I think it would be better just to end the show there. They have already lost some major player's that made the show special.

Well as a whole, compared to the prior seasons, I have to say this one was quite boring IMO. It wasn't horrible just, boring.

I think it had to do with the writers, not the actors. I was hoping for some type of happiness with Lady Edith but all the attention went to Lady Mary.

Fellows was too busy writing for a new show he was asked to write for called The Vanderbilts to have time to pay attention to what the hell he was doing with DA. That's why things seemed so disjointed. And of course, there was his belief that Mary is the be all, end all of the show. Ugh.

I've seen it mentioned in several articles that Series/Season 5 may end up the last. I say, it needs to be, especially after how terrible this season was. There were a few good bits, but mostly it was just like...running around in circles really.

It's still a great show overall, but the honeymoon is definitely over for me. The only highlights of Season 4 for me were the drama resulting from Anna's assault and anything Violet/Isobel. There were things that could have been interesting (Rose and the singer, Edith's illegitimate baby) but were abruptly dropped. And then everything else just felt like the show spinning its wheels.

I would also be fine with Season 5 being the last (although I don't think it necessarily needs to be).

The highlight of this show, for me, has always been Violet/Isobel lol.
