Maggie Smith returning to DOWNTON ABBEY for Season 4
I was mad that the US audience has to wait another year for season 4 and 5 to broadcast on PBS>

Seasons 4 and 5 have already been made??? How old is this show that they are this far behind in the US?
British and United States programming have a different set of rules. The FCC regulates television programming.
United States television programs are sold under the concept of budget deficiting.
I think legal issues and programming structure have to be formatted before it broadcast on PBS in the US.

So we will have to wait a YEAR to see season 4 in the US right? Ugh I don't know if I can stand it lmao.
Your not the only one, :frustration:
I wonder how much editing was done to make it okay to be viewed on PBS in the states.
I hope they give Lady Edith a new love interest as well, i couldn't stand it when they kept giving her men twice her age, :soapbox:

The actor who plays O'Brien is not coming back for season four.
I hope Lady Edith finds a husband or least think about going to college.

O'Brien is gone, let the party begin.
I knew the nanny was off when she started telling the servant do things for her.
I am glad that Lady Mary walked in to the nursery. She should have called the police and escorted her off the property.
Lady Mary finally got out of her pitiful state and returned back to the land of the living and rejoiced when Matthew inheritance left her 50% of DA.
Robert still living in the dark ages about women and business.

It was Lady Grantham that walked into the nursery, not Lady Mary. And she wouldn't call the police for something such as that. Such an action would have brought light to something the family would want kept 'in house'. She didn't even tell Mrs. Hughes what had happened and Mrs. Hughes works for the family and is trustworthy enough not to spread gossip about.

As for someone to escort Nanny West off the property, Carson could have done that with ease if asked to do so, but again...that draws attention to it. The gossip amongst the staff as they try to figure out what happened will be enough without something like the woman being escorted off the property being added to it.

Thanks for clearing up the names of the women.

Oh no, I can't believe they did that to Anna. She must wish she had listened to her husband when he tried to warn her about that awful man.

Rape is a serious crime and its not Anna fault, period. The man approached her and she said No.
If he cared for his wife, he should have escorted home.

I would have married Lord Gilliam in a heartbeat, because it seems like Mary will mourn Matthew for the rest of her life.
I am also glad that Mary is standing up for herself in regards to DA.

So far other then the assault on Anna, for me anyways, this season has been a little bland so far.

LOL, i felt the same way. I like they are repeating the same conversation over and over again. I think the man Lady Edith was interested in is never coming back to England.

Isobel: You so hate to be wrong!

Violet: I wouldn't know, I'm not familiar with the sensation! :roflol:

I couldn't read it because it was gone so fast, did Edith's note say she was pregnant?

Oh previews for next week... Lady Violet is sick... :'(

That scene with Lady Edith note went to fast, for me. I guess the writers wanted the viewers to make the assumption that she is pregnant. I think that the man she slept with is never coming back. He said he went to Germany but the PI wired back and stated that they could not find him.

The man who raped Anna is just plain dumb. Bates has figured it out as well as the head maid.
Lady Edith needs the crap smacked out of her because she wants to give her child away is just plain dumb. It would have been better if she went to states had her baby and returned claiming the father had died from some tragic accident.

I guess I still miss Mathew, and too many new characters at once.

I am having trouble getting back into the "I have to watch every second feeling."
Even though I watch every episode, this season isn't grabbing my attention like the past seasons have.

I feel the same way, it seems like Mary has two suitors and she still can't move past Matthew. I am glad that she is spending time with her son, George.

Lady Edith as lost her mind, in giving up her child.
I enjoyed Lady Cora mother played by Shirley McLaine. I loved how she turned down the Lord because she was comfortable in her life and she could introduce him to some of her friends who wanted a titled British aristocrat as a husband.
I found Lady Cora brother creepy(nothing against the actor).
I just hope Season five is the last and final season because this season was dull and bland.

Well as a whole, compared to the prior seasons, I have to say this one was quite boring IMO. It wasn't horrible just, boring.

I think it had to do with the writers, not the actors. I was hoping for some type of happiness with Lady Edith but all the attention went to Lady Mary.
