J.R. Ewing is about to be laid to rest at Southfork, but not before getting one last visit from two of the sexy, big-haired bimbos he romanced back in the day.

Deborah Shelton, who from 1984-1987 played J.R.'s No. 1 mistress Mandy Winger (or as Sue Ellen preferred to call her, "that Winger tramp"), has accepted an invitation from TNT's Dallas to say a few words at the memorial service Bobby and Sue Ellen will throw for the departed Ewing patriarch. Shelton, 64, has been appearing in lower-budget films, with her last high-profile TV appearance a 2008 episode of Nip/Tuck.

Sue Ellen will perhaps be a bit more accepting of another funeral attendee: J.R.'s young, country-hick wife Cally Harper Ewing, played by Cathy Podewell from 1988-1991. Podewell, 47, last appeared in a 1995 episode of Walker, Texas Ranger.

Other members of the extended Ewing family who will be paying their respects include J.R.'s brother Gary Ewing (Knots Landing's Ted Shackelford), half brother Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly), and niece Lucy Ewing (Charlene Tilton). And don't be surprised if J.R.'s nemesis Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) makes an unwelcome appearance before the coffin closes.

Dallas' second season kicks off with a two-hour premiere on Monday, January 28. J.R.'s memorial is slated to air March 11.

Not that I'm necessarily looking forward to seeing either one, but I think it's great that the thought went in to having them appear. But what about Sly?

According to Ultimate Dallas, as of last week, Deborah Rennard (Sly) was in discussions to appear. I don't know if it's official yet. (http://www.ultimatedallas.com/dallasnews/2013/01/08/sly-to-make-a-return-in-a-farewell-to-jr-ewing/)

I agree about Mandy and Cally, but I do think they need to be there and I'm very very pleasantly surprised they will be. I hope Sue Ellen and "that Winger tramp" get at least one scene together.

I'm kinda getting huge expectations for this funeral. I really hope I'm not disappointed. I want everyone to say something and have some flashbacks. I'd be happy with that. Even just a minute or two where everyone connected to JR speaks. I don't know that I just want to see Ray and Lucy in the back of the crowd with a throwaway line like they were giving them in Season 1. At least they started to do something with Lucy in that one episode where John Ross had lunch with her to get her support.

EDIT:
Was browsing Ultimate Dallas and read that Sly is no longer in the script. Hopefully they change their mind and include her. I think it's still up in the air so hopefully this can change. I do think she should be there. It has to be money lol.

That was posted a month ago. I don't think the funeral is the right time but could you imagine if they were to cut away to Cliff and then Pam? Holy shiiiit. That could be really good. But I doubt it will happen. Victoria continues to insist she's moved on. I think she just needs to get over it and appear.
