Is Rafe supposed to stay in the character of unrealistically loving Sami while she treats him like a doormat, shoot people, berates his sister for a far lesser crime than any of hers? He get drunk and Kate is quite skilled so no wonder they go at it again to make sure it was a "mistake."

How do they intend on telling people along the way that find out cause you know you know some nosey ass will find out eventually. Things should go alot smoother between the two when needed something done. Im not sure if thats a good thing or not, lol But like I said before it could be worse. It's not like the writers intend for Rafe and Kate to be the next big Days supercouple, because they can never have Rafe out of Sami's orbit for too long. I don't think we're supposed to buy them as a 'serious' couple. And until the inevitable "Safe" reunion, I'm going to enjoy Rafe and Kate's love-fest pissing Sami off.

And that may be great for those who want a bunch of different characters with the same faces. But if you were a fan of Rafe (the dude has a lot of fans) or a fan of consistency I doubt they are cheering the changes. Everyone is asking for changes to Dan or at least an acknowledgment of the guy he really is but the show refuses. Yet we get these changes. Well we know it's in Rafe's nature to be revengeful......that was his main reason for helping Nicole.....to get back at EJ for the griefsex. So maybe now it's Sami's turn, when he's sticking it to Kate, he's sticking it to Sami too. :D

He's actually not a bad actor, when he's given some non-Safe material, so I think pairing him with Lauren Koslow could be kinda interesting. And the man looks pretty good half-naked too.

At the beginning of the week, Kate hears from Stefano. Kate isn�t happy with Stefano�s detached demeanor, and some harsh words are exchanged. This is the tipping point for Kate, and she goes out drinking. Rafe ends up joining her at the bar. He is angry over Sami�s treatment of Gabi. The two of them begin discussing the baby that�s coming. Kate considers Gabi family now that she is carrying her grandson�s baby, and she is understanding of what Gabi is going through. They continue to drink, and are soon saying things to one another they wouldn�t normally say. According to Lauren Koslow, �Kate also thinks that Rafe is obviously a very hot, sex guy. A chemical thing happens and it turns intimate.� Kate wakes up in Rafe�s bed the next day. They agree it was a drunken mistake, but then they have sex again. I don't think we know what is "out of character" for Rafe because he has been nothing more than a prop for Sami for the last two years. First he was FBI, and that was a huge part of his ego and then he quit because Sami Oakley was shootin' up her lovers in the head and a liability to his career. His character has been consistently supportive of his family as evinced by his defense of Gabi when the truly hypocritical Sami lashed out at her. So I would view Rafe as full of potential, he wants to renew his manhood and sense of self. Kate provides an interesting outlet for both his upper and lower extremity needs.
