I don't know even know why they even put other women in the Lead Actress category. That award is going to be Flannery's. No matter what. As for who I'd like to see nominated along with Flannery, I pick Tom, Hall, Hughes, Monaco and Case. Tom just because she's Heather Tom. I don't think Hall has the material to win, but she just deserves to be nominated. Hughes was awesome with the material Carlivati gave her. As was Monaco. And like the writing or not, Case carried Y&R in 2012 and brought it every time. That alone, makes her deserving of a nomination for Lead Actress. Not sure why McCay was pre-nominated for DAYS. She has never every been a leading actress on DAYS. Gering is definitely a Lead Actor, so he's in the right category. Mascolo should be replaced with Christian. There's no reason Christian should be considered supporting in 2012. Scott should've been pre-nominated as well. Berris is the only DAYS star I'd like to see get nominated for Supporting Actor. Hate the character, but he's playing the shit out of this brand new Nick Fallon. And proving why he never should've been let go in the first place. Dumbass Tomlin! I don't want to see any of the ladies pre-nominated for Supporting Actress actually get the nomination. Zucker has the best material out of the actresses, but she wasn't a supporting actress last year. She should be in the Lead Actress category, replacing McCay. I hate when they place Zucker in Supporting Actress. They've been doing it since she started getting nominated, and she's been Lead, pretty much, since she came back. |

These are not pre-nominations. They don't get announced until the end of February. These are the actors that submitted themselves to get pre-nominated. So any name you see doesn't mean they earned their nomination. It just means they submitted a reel. |

Susan Flannery for the win! She was awesome. This was Stafford's episode. Yuck.... That's was her second worst scene ever (number one is the miscarriage scene). Watch her hand gestures. Ridiculous. Edited by LPS, Feb 12 2013, 08:43 PM.

Michelle Stafford and Christian LeBlanc can submit themselves taking a shit and they will at least get a nomination. So this is a real test of the new system because that reel does suck. |

Category absurdities aside, I would say that the Days actors with the best chances at being nominated, based on material, would be Ariane Zucker, Lauren Koslow, and James Reynolds. Zucker was great during the miscarriage. Koslow had some amazing throwdown scenes with Ian Buchanan. And Reynolds, while not on much the last few months, had a handful of fantastic episodes when Lexie died. It doesn't take much to put together an Emmy reel, and his work the episode after Lexie passed was heartwrenching. Blake Berris is great, but he didn't have any 'big scenes'. His work has been more quiet and subtle, and while that's impressive, it's usually the big emotional scenes that attract Emmy attention. Bryan Datillo might have some good material with Will's coming out, but I doubt he can crack the nomination code. I don't see Shawn Christian getting through. And Greg Vaughn hasn't been on long enough, IMO. As for the other Supporting Actress contenders, I don't see Judi Evans or Suzanne Rogers having the material this past year. Suzanne should have been nominated, and won, two years ago. And I see little hope for Peggy McCay, Joseph Mascolo, or Galen Gering. Peggy and Joe are in the wrong categories (so was Deidre for that matter). Not that their work wasn't good, but I just don't see it happening. |

I did like Michelle's hair color in that clip. Very beautiful. Clearly, not one of her best scenes |

You haven't seen nothin' yet. I'm really surprised Stafford didn't go with this. I know this is digressing, but this scene is way too precious not to share! :D Start at 2:00 to see Stafford's magic and skip to 3:15 if you really want the abridged version. Needless to say, Stafford's acting has regressed sharply since the 1990s. I want to know how she gets nominated. Here is Sharon Case's scenes. Edited by LPS, Feb 13 2013, 10:23 PM.

Eileen didn't submit so that's on her. I would think she had a decent shot at getting nominated in either category. Chandler is under 25 so he's forced to submit in the Younger Actor category. They are no longer doing pre-nominations for the younger categories so he's automatically pre-nominated as long as he submitted a reel. |

You know, she actually does have material. The only problem is that she's in the wrong category. She was supporting in 1986 and she's supporting today. |

I agree about Lead Actor. (I've never watched B&B, so I have no opinion on SF). I'm curious to see what scenes Jason Thompson submitted. I personally think his grief scenes before Robin's funeral were the best in daytime last year. The only issue is that the Emmys don't usually award more subtle acting. |

That is just hilarious. I know it's a serious scene that she's miscarring, but MS just plays it WAY OTT. I couldn't feel sorry her. Her hand gestures are just ridiculous |
