I'm a geek about such things, but I never knew that Macdonald Carey's wife was Gladys Hopkins' 1/2 sister. Gladys was the 2nd wife (out of 4!) of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney of THE Vanderbilt/Whitney family. As in the UBER WEALTHY. As in Anderson Cooper's mother is Gloria Vanderbilt. THOSE Vanderbilt Whitneys. Granted, Gladys & CVW divorced in 1940, but still...
