2014 Winter Olympics: 9 Hour Time Difference in Sochi, Russia
MANY events live during morning/early afternoon hours in US
NO events live during primetime hours in US
COULD IMPACT "DAYS" UP TO 2 WEEKS...
Still no word yet on what NBC's daytime plans will be regarding the February 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. In 2010, when the Olympics were held in Canada, "Days" aired for 9 of the 10 days at 1PM and NBC aired Olympics from 2PM-6PM each day.
However, in 2014, since the primetime coverage in the US will be all tape-delayed this time around, the only chance NBC will have to air ANY live coverage on the main network would be during the morning/early afternoon hours, which could then preempt portions of "Today" and "Days" for up to 2 weeks.
NBC has already committed to airing every Team USA Ice Hockey game live during the Olympics, but has not confirmed yet whether they will air on NBC itself or one of its cable networks.
More news when it becomes available.

"It's like a rollercoaster ride."
thanks for the info, Jason.
if NBC does pre-empt Days for 2 weeks, the set better go dark for 2 extra weeks so as to not end up 4.5 months ahead at the end of this pre-emption!

I appreciate the info but this is a year away LOL.
Of course they'll be filming February in what, a few weeks? LMAO. I kid but seriously, the taping is ludicrous.
Thank you as always Jason. You are so great about DAYS info, you really are, it's very very appreciated :)

I usually hate when they take 2 weeks off. If all they have going on then is the same as now, it won't bother me a bit!
Please, PTB give us good stories soon so we can have a show to miss!
Thanks for the info Jason!
