For those unfamiliar, we are an uncensored community for fans and lovers of the daytime genre. We have a no-holds-barred atmosphere in regards to the shows, writers, actors etc. but we do not allow member bashing in any form.

Posts: 905 Group: Members Member #11,914 Joined: May 9, 2012	I understand that Dannifer do have their fans, but do they actually get excited about them or is it more like "I like them"? Do they inspire passion in anyone? The most irksome thing is how the writing transparently expects us all to love them so much, when they are gag-worthy to many because of Jack and sort-of-okay to those that had no attachment to Jack and don't mind them for some reason. We know that the show must know that people find them annoying, else Anne wouldn't exist. But seriously, all this investment and desperation just alienates me.

I'm just on Dannifer overkill. They've been on almost nonstop and I'm sick of it. I don't care for every story going on, but I'd still welcome almost anyone else in one of these previews.

You would think Tomlin would want to write more for the Will storyline, a la Ryan Murphy with Glee, and focus on this pretty strongly (which I am all for. It's got great potential). Yet...........Does anyone else see the paradox? Or am I thinking too hard? I am willing to be corrected (nicely, of course, LOL)

And I hate the breathy way both Melissa Reeves and Shawn Christian speak individually. Putting them together is like torture to me. I don't know why I even bother to wonder anymore who it will involve. i used to say basically the exact same reaction statement when the previews seemed to always revolve around Sami/Ej/Rafe. i think it's safe to conclude that the previews NBC puts out are no longer highlighting the shock moment of the week, but rather what TPTB think that we should all be watching for.

Posts: 1,805 Group: Elite Member Member #10,901 Joined: October 29, 2011	It has occurred to me that Dannifer is part of the price we pay for having TPTB go along with the Wilson storyline. In their executive board rooms, they probably analyzed the pushback from the public for allowing a gay storyline on their soap, so they probably made some sort of deal that if they went there, they would have to also really push an (in their minds) old-fashioned romance story in parallel to give those viewers who might be anti-gay something. Maybe they're trying to demonstrate they know how to include a classic romantic storyline in their mix. Meanwhile, the only story that has any old-fashioned romantic appeal for me among the current line-up IS Wilson. Ironic, no?
