I'm thoroughly disgusted by all those noms that Y&R got. Very disappointed and surprised that James Reynolds was left out. And why are there only nominees in the acting categories instead of the usual five.

After hearing how dreadful Y&R was for over a year, I'm surprised at all their nominations. But I guess you can have great acting with shit writing which leads me to......

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!!! GO Arianne Zucker... For the win!!!! I'm sorry but if Ari doesn't win this, it's as big a robbery than when that chick from GH beat out Eileen Davidson playing 5 roles back in the day!

Also, congrats to Chandler (who I sadly think got worse after winning his Emmy) and my favorite Freddie Smith who I'd love to see win but I'll be surprised if he does. Peggy McKay as lead? Ummm ok. Congrats to her although Im not expecting her to win. IF she does, my money is on her speech getting cut off. She's the rambling queen, bless her heart.

So all shows are nominated for best drama. Hmmm guess they are trying to attempt to be fair....sadly, having Y&R nominated for outstanding writing kinda throws the fair idea to shit don't ya think?

Congrats to all nominees!!

There's only four soaps left and four nominees...and Days still couldn't get a nomination for writing. It makes me happy.

Much prefers sweevil, snarky EJ over Father Figure Fucktard Eejiot.

Peggy McKay is no more a lead actress on DAYS than I am - but it's nice that she got a nomination.

I'd love to see Ari Z finally take the Emmy home. She definitely had the material to do it with this past year.

I agree with the sentiment that Chandler's performances got worse after his Emmy win. He's still doing that really weird grinning thing - drives me nuts! Glad to see Freddie get in there. I'll be surprised if either one of them win it this year.

I'm surprised Days was nominated for anything, honestly.

Peggy McCay for lead actress is a joke. She wasn't even a lead actress 25 years ago when she actually got screen time. She doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

Arianne Zucker is great but I honestly don't remember a thing she did last year. What was her story?

Chandler and Freddie... meh. They're both good but I don't think they've done anything in the last year to warrant any kind of special recognition.

I was wondering the same exact thing. If so, I'd like to be a fly on the wall.

How do you get nominated for best show without getting nominated for best writting team?

Ari had the dead baby storyline/Daniel obsession thing. Not that the show really played her grieving beyond 2 days....her Daniel obsession kept going and going....

True, but I believe all she needs is one full episode of material - I think that's all they submit.

She definitely had that during the show when she gave birth to her stillborn baby.
