Well at least the cast is still wearing things that could be considered to be costumes. It's the music nomination that has me confused.

I am really happy for the show. I think this is one of the best years that they have had in about six-seven years.

I don't know how they got a nod for hair though. YIKES!!!

Seriously cannot express my excitement over Ari's nom. She deserves it!

I don't understand Peggy's nom but I'll welcome it. She is a huge part of Days' history so it's cool that she got nominated. Not sure about that category though.

Happy for Chandler and Freddie! To be honest, last year was Chandler's year, but I think this year goes to Freddie. He really made the role his own and to be honest, Chandler hasn't really impressed me in a while. Maybe the writing just isn't there, but it seems like Chandler has been phoning it in for a while. Regardless, rooting for both of them!

Killing myself slowly

Happy for all the DAYS actors...even the ones whose nominations I don't get at all (Peggy).

So Chandler's scenes I guess were when he kisses Neal and goes to Marlena afterwards to tell her about it. Those scenes were really great and I think he has a good shot. Of course I'm biased and know nothing about the other two guys from the other soap nominated. Now Freddie, I have no idea about which scenes, but I'm very curious. I don't remember a whole lot during that time that really showcased Freddie so I'm kind of surprised he was nominated. Not that be doesn't deserve it, just that from that time frame it was mostly PSA Sonny, and not a lot of emotional depth going on. These last couple of months I've seen more from Freddie. Regardless, I'm rooting for them both, because I just adore both. :wub2:

Also, it makes me sad to see that James Reynolds didn't get nominated. He was PHENOMENAL last year during Lexie's death storyline. Easily one of the highlights of 2012.

I'm a bit confused. Can somebody help me out here, so the nominations for the actors are based off of their work in 2012 not anytime this year?

Yes. Daytime Emmys are always for the previous year's work. So this year's Emmys are for any episodes aired between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.

Here's from the Emmy rulebook:

What Programs Can Enter?
Programs Series and Specials (depending on the category), and their related craft
achievements must have originally aired or been made available for viewing, downloading
or streaming by more than 50% of the US national market between the dates of January 1,
2012 to December 31, 2012 between the hours of 2:00am and 6:00pm.
