Sami doesn't know what we the audience knows....and even based on what we know it still looks like the evidence is mounting against Ej. At the very, very least Sami should be cautious and not just telling everyone that Ej didn't do it, that he couldn't have possibly done it, that he would never do that....because as we all know...he's done it before, he's certainly capable of doing it again and he would certainly do it again if need be. So in the end, yes, Sami does look stupid NOW, by saying those things even if she technically is right and the others are wrong.....

I'd just like to note that in today's episode, Days of our Lives flashed back to some of EJ's crimes.
Does Days not realize just how stupid it makes Sami, or do they just not care?
I'll bet that Days realizes that Sami is a character on a soap opera in a fictional town where nearly everyone is a criminal on their tenth or eleventh chance. Just a guess, though.
It doesn't explain her stupidity.
It does explain why they aren't expecting her to act like a real person. Characters do bad things, then they and others move on, because they have to, since there are only so many people in town to interact with. That's how it's always worked and will continue to.

Gross, Caroline basically said that Sami wanted Rafe because he reminded her of her own twin brother.
Is that any worse than the already accepted argument that she wants him because he reminds her of her father?

so because he has a past he is automatically guilty now? the ones making assumptions are the foolish ones here.
Being wrong isn't foolish.
no but condemning a man just based on his past is.

Uh, he's guilty of plenty, like almost getting Sami and her entire family killed. He isn't some innocent victem
No one is making EJ out to be an innocent victim......the point is, he is NOT guilty of THIS and Sami not jumping on the condemn bandwagon just because of his past does not make her stupid.
It doesn't make her smart either. She has no reason/evidence to think that he didn't do it.

I thought it was established (here at least) that Sami doesn't want someone like her father, she wants her actual father?

It's her choices and actions that make her stupid, not EJ's past misdeeds and crimes.

They have evidence, lol. That's also just kind of the way things work when your looking for a suspect.

Sami is not trusting blindly either.....we actually see her posing the question to EJ......she is not joining his naysayers but at the same time, she is at least asking.

she is not condemning the man but at the same time she is questioning him.

Is it possible this Jensen guy is on the Dimera payroll? Vargas has already shown that the Dimera name knows no boundaries even in jail, Rafe being a cop he's created a lot of enemies over the years so who knows at this stage who's really behind Rafe's attack, speculation of course.

Hope to Sami: "EJ could have a bullet riddled corpse at his feet & a smoking gun in his hand & you'd still think he was innocent."
Epic zing!!!

That's for sure. I say Ciara Brady for President - or head of the CIA at the very least.

what evidence? Gabi's words and EJ meeting Rafe at the pub? They have made him an official suspect without anything to really go by, relying heavily on their past.

Sami has made the decision to trust EJ, and she made that choice because of his actual actions. Even if she's not 100% certain, she should at least be loyal enough to defend him to outsiders, not immediately throw him under the bus and hand Hope more ammunition against EJ, by letting her think that even Sami thinks he might have done it.
