Big Brother 15: Discussion Thread

For those unfamiliar with the show, here's the premise:

A group of diverse strangers move into a house outfitted with hundreds of cameras and microphones and they are completely cut off from the outside world. No TV, no internet, no telephones, no books, no newspapers or magazines. Complete isolation. For three months, they live inside the Big Brother house, being watched by the viewing public via the live internet feeds. (Live feed updates are posted in the live feeds thread.)

Each week, they participate in a series of competitions to win food, luxuries and power -- the most important power being "Head of Household." The person who wins Head of Household (HoH) is automatically ensured safety for a week, but they must nominate two of their fellow housemates for eviction. Following the nominations, the houseguests vote LIVE to evict one of the two nominees. This happens every week for three months, and the last man standing wins $500,000.

Big Brother 15 premieres June 26th on CBS.

I'm not holding up much hope for this season. I really hope it is all new house guests. Hopefully, they can get a good cast.

A SUMMER OF “BIG BROTHER” ACROSS ALL SCREENS – ON-AIR, ONLINE, ON CABLE AND ON TABLETS AND MOBILE PHONES

“Big Brother’s” 24/7 Live Feeds Move to CBS.com with New Features Added

Full Episodes Available On CBS's New iOS App

TVGN is the New Home of Big Brother After Dark

LOS ANGELES – BIG BROTHER debuts its new season on the CBS Television Network on Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) in a big fashion across all screens. New this year, fans can access the show’s popular 24/7 Live Feeds subscription service directly on CBS.com, watch full episodes via the CBS App for iOS, and catch a curated live feed from the house during the late-night hours on the TVGN entertainment network.

In addition to this season’s new multiplatform offerings, BIG BROTHER will continue to offer fans opportunities to use social media to unlock exclusive content, impact the house and interact with this season’s Houseguests.

“We’re building on BIG BROTHER’s major strides in interactivity – including primetime reality TV’s first live Twitter vote – by bringing the show’s die-hard fans even more opportunities to impact components of the show and interact with this season’s houseguests,” said Rob Gelick, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Digital Platforms for CBS Interactive Entertainment. “Fans will have the most immersive, 360-degree BIG BROTHER experience ever, across every possible screen, including social media integrations, the Live Feeds on CBS.com, and full episodes on the CBS App."

The social, interactive and multiplatform features fans can look forward to this season include:

BIG BROTHER Live Feeds on CBS.com: The BIG BROTHER Live Feeds are moving home to CBS.com. Available via subscription on a season-long or monthly basis, the Live Feeds will provide an exclusive all-access pass to the BIG BROTHER house. Fans will have access to the features they know and love – including subscriber-only web chat, four different live feeds, multiple camera angles, quad-camera view, and live stream playback – along with new features like live feed highlights, offering bookmarks of key moments in the house; the ability to rewind within live playback; Houseguest status updates; and more. For more information or to sign-up for an Early Bird Special, fans can visit: http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/live_feed/ (As in past years, CBS may delay and/or black out the webcast on occasion in order to preserve the drama for BIG BROTHER television viewers).

BIG BROTHER Live Feeds on Mobile Devices: In addition to watching on CBS.com, subscribers will also be able to access the BIG BROTHER Live Feeds on mobile devices by visiting cbs.com/bblivefeeds/ from their mobile browser.

BIG BROTHER on the CBS App: iPhone and iPad users can catch up on full episodes of BIG BROTHER on the CBS App, where they will also be able follow and join the social media conversation around the show, view photos and get details on the cast. As in previous years, full-length episodes and clips will also be available on CBS.com and across select CBS Audience Network partner sites.

CBS.com’s BIG BROTHER Live Chat: The weekly “BIG BROTHER Live Chat” web series returns with host and former BIG BROTHER Houseguest Jeff Schroeder. Every Friday, Schroeder will take questions directly from fans via BIG BROTHER Connect and interview House Guests and series experts in a live online webcast.

CBS.com’s BIG BROTHER Memorable Moments: Fans will be treated to “BIG BROTHER Memorable Moments,” a new miniseries featuring a look back at some of the more memorable moments of the last 14 seasons.

BIG BROTHER Social Media:

BIG BROTHER Connect: BIG BROTHER fans can interact with one another and the show via CBS.com’s BIG BROTHER Connect social hub, which aggregates all of the social media conversations happening around the show.

BIG BROTHER on Twitter: Fans can follow @CBSBigBrother for updates on the show; @BigBrotherScoop for exclusive production updates; and @BigBrotherHoH for messages from each week’s Head of Household.

Flock to Unlock and the BIG BROTHER Photo Booth: Fans will have opportunities to use the power of Twitter to access exclusive photos from inside the house. New this season, the BIG BROTHER house will also feature a photo booth where House Guests will take exclusive photos to share with fans on CBS.com.

BIG BROTHER will once again be presented on multiple platforms and on multiple nights of the week on broadcast and premium cable television:

BIG BROTHER on The CBS Television Network: BIG BROTHER returns Wednesday, June 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Following the premiere, BIG BROTHER will be broadcast three nights weekly – Sundays (8:00 - 9:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning June 30), Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT, beginning July 2) and the LIVE eviction show hosted by Julie Chen will be broadcast on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT, beginning July 3).

BIG BROTHER on TVGN: Starting this summer, TVGN (TV Guide Network) will become the exclusive television destination for BIG BROTHER: AFTER DARK, a curated live feed from the BIG BROTHER house during the late-night hours. BIG BROTHER: AFTER DARK will air two hours, seven nights a week (12:00-2:00 AM, live ET/delayed PT) beginning Wednesday, June 26. During its premiere week, BIG BROTHER: AFTER DARK will air commercial-free on TVGN. To locate TVGN on basic cable, viewers can visit www.tvgn.tv for a channel finder.

Last summer, BIG BROTHER experienced significant growth across platforms. The on-air social integrations – including primetime reality television’s first live Twitter vote, which gave fans the opportunity to influence components of the show in real-time – helped drive a 558% increase in social conversation over the previous season.

BIG BROTHER follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with more than 53 cameras and 97 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, the Houseguests will vote someone out of the house. At the end, the last remaining Houseguest will receive the grand price of $500,000. BIG BROTHER is produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

I hope this season wins me back. My interest has been waning big time.

I do admit that everytime 'this time' rolls around I get a little excited. Hard not to after following cast announcements for so many years now.

I'm kind of surprised they seem to try and be breathing some life back into BB but I'll wait until I see the product before I realize probably nothing's changed LOL. But I'm hoping for the best.

I'm still torn on the idea for this upcoming Survivor season. Sigh. I love these shows but maybe it's time to either go back to the basics, or somehow reinvent them without gimmicky ridiculous twists. Or end them. Not BB -- yet. I think it could be refreshed, and it still does well for the summer so ... I think they just need to stop giving Probst so much power at Survivor.... but that's another thread LOL

Is US mad that BB CAN was so much better? LOL!

Well, that was their big announcement? Who cares. I guess the twitter vote is kinda cool. KINDA. But I can see that going horribly wrong.

I always love BB. I loved the last few seasons, and I think it has just gotten better over time, but I think I am in the minority about that around these parts. I do hope they will take a few pages from BB CAN casting-wise. I LOVED the cast of CAN.

I agree - I hope BBUS can make some better casting choices....BBCAN Season 1 was a casting dream IMO.

BBUS has not had a strong new cast since Season 10 and 11.

Also if they are going to bring back former houseguests, just make it an All-Star 2 edition...but I am tired of them being brought back in minority with new cast members.

Also bringing back former houseguests has almost always led to SHITTY casting for new members.

Exactly. They've relied on former HGs that the casting for newbies has seriously lacked.

I like the format of mixing old and new. Same for Survivor.

I don't want an all new cast. LOL.

I wouldn't mind this if the sides were equal in size...I hate when its 4 returnees with like 8 new HG....if they want to do a old & new..make it even.

Wait, seriously? Canada's blocked from the live feed?

Welp, if I wasn't already half out the door with this incarnation before this just seals the deal for me. The CBS episodes are useless and hunting down ever-changing bootleg feeds is too much effort. I'll just stick to BBUK.

I don't understand the blocking feeds crap. I mean people in Canada can watch the US version on TV where that wasn't the case for people in the US when it came to the Canadian version. Stupid decision.
