||that's Days MO...way up one week, way down the next.|

Team Michael Quartermaine!
|Looks like all soaps lost viewers after May sweeps ended. Surprised GH's numbers weren't worse as this is around the time of the Franco reveal which hasn't been very popular.|

||Seems like all soaps lost viewers, but Days losing 443,000 from the week before was a big drop, and they were the only soap who lost viewers ( 151,000) from last year when Mardar's crap was still showing...surprised at that one.|

I just can't believe that remembering how awful all soaps were last year that all but Days manages to hold their year to year gains...Days is down from this time last year by a significant number....and this time last year the show was on it's way up from the lows in April.
I have a funny feeling that this Sami story is not going to do well for Days....we'll see.

||Though things on Days have slowed down, I can't figure out how that train wreck GH is above them? :shrug:|
|talbab1994||Jun 18 2013, 09:04 AM Post #7|
I was thinking the same thing! GH, for me, is an absolute train wreck. Weren't they kind of heavy on Patrick and Sabrina last week too? Maybe people watched for that? Lulu got her memory back too. This whole Franco storyline is just so bad. What the heck happened? :shrug:
|JDeveraux_91||Jun 18 2013, 09:21 AM Post #8|
I've done so much FFing of GH lately that I can't tell you who was the main focus last week. Oh wait, there was A LOT of Franco which motivated me to FF. I'm glad that Lulu got her memory back, but TIIC did it in the most cheesy way possible. The whole show is pretty cheesy and just plain silly lately!

The streets ainít made for everybody. Thatís why they made sidewalks
Franco has been on pretty much EVERY DAY so far. :flipoff: or at least 99% of the time since RH took over :soapbox: :eyeroll:

I still like RH doesn't matter what character he is playing. I thought I would hate him as Franco, but I can still see Todd. He still manages to bring humour some of his scenes. I ffwd anything to do with Kiki, Morgan, Michael. Patrick and Sabrina are so dull, they really need Britt and Felix to bring life to their story. I still prefer the old Lulu.
I actually enjoyed most of GH last week. I think it was a Friday that most of the ones I find boring were on.

|Ouch...they lost almost a half million viewers in ONE WEEK....NOT GOOD!|
|daysmemories||Jun 18 2013, 10:06 AM Post #12|
As underwhelmi ng as GH has been it's more watchable than the Sami story on Days. Now that that's front and center it's like ugh!

||DAYS is still up in the demo compared to last year, but these are pretty bad ratings for them - Friday is usually awful for DAYS and they weren't even on - imagine how much worse it could have been?|

|which demo again is the one that matters most?|
|natdot99||Jun 18 2013, 03:31 PM Post #15|
||Maybe 90% to 95% of the shows have been FF material rather than good drama. :shame:|
|Southofsoap||Jun 18 2013, 03:39 PM Post #16|
For Daytime, the broad demo is W18-49 as a proxy for advertising rates (it's not perfect). It's also not that straight forward because advertisers will pay a further huge premium for W18-34. So the more stacked your 18-49 is towards 18-34 the more you can charge.
There is an advertising journal that publishes estimates for a commercial for prime time shows which illustrated this year very well with New Girl on FOX and NCIS on CBS. Both air on a Tuesday and NCIS will typiclaly get 16m-18m total viewers whilst New Girl will be lucky to get 4-5m (so NCIS is watched by roughly 3-4 many more people live + same day DVR). NCIS even beats New Girl in A18-49 by a 3.3 to about 2.5; but New Girl kicks NCIS in A18-34. A 30 second advert on NCIS is estimated to cost $166,000 but New Girl costs almost double at $321,000. That's because New Girl is stacked high in A18-34 and NCIS has virtually nobody under 35 watching.

||Whoa, big dip for Days. Hopefully they can come back from this next week, because the show has been so much fun lately!|

Killing myself slowly
18-34 is the only reason PASSIONS stayed around as long as it did.
It was consistently #2 behind DAYS and even #1 sometimes in that demo....it stayed close to Top 3 for most of its run I believe in 18-34....however it was the over 34 viewers the show MASSIVELY lacked.

||Im not really concerned. They were preempted for two days. That had to kill them. The show has been great post sweeps.|
|LuvingLumi||Jun 18 2013, 05:36 PM Post #20|

|I don't think the preemption kills them, if anything it might have helped that they didn't count toward the end of the week when the ratings seem to dip consistently anyway.|
