OWN Orders 16 New Episodes of 'The Haves and the Have Nots' By Derrick Bryson Taylor Posted Image Photo Credit: Getty Images Tyler Perry's OWN drama The Haves and the Have Nots is a proven hit for the once struggling network. According to a press release issued today, OWN has ordered an additional 16 episodes starring Tika Sumpter. The show, which debuted on May 28th, became the highest rated premiere in the network's history. The series is also the highest rated program among women 25-54. It's also the number one show among African-American women on Tuesday nights. The latest round of episodes will begin airing in early 2014. "Naturally, it is wonderful to have the network's first scripted series score so resoundingly," said Sheri Salata, president of OWN. "Tyler's fans and OWN viewers have responded to this guilty pleasure in record numbers, and we are happy to give them more of a good thing." The story follows a wealthy, dysfunctional family, the Cryers, and their unwavering drama that spills over into chaos. Are you excited to see more episodes? I agree, Tika Sumpter is good. At first, I only watched bc of her, but lately a new storyline has piqued my interest. It's two women that have one thing in common-breast cancer. Edited by bellajewel, Jun 27 2013, 01:59 PM.

High Mrs. Cryer was great. This show isn't that exciting, yet I love it. It's a bit heartwarming, especially the breast cancer storyline. |

Tika Sumpter is fabulous. I'm glad for her that the show is doing so well. She deserves it. The show is starting to grow on me. It's a fun hour out of my week, nothing groundbreaking or super thrilling but sort of a guilty pleasure. |
