"If Sami can't find happiness with a Martian, then she can't find happiness with anyone."

Please post all interesting/spoilerish tweets in this thread. If a news article or new video is also tweeted (for example by SOD or NBC), it should probably go in its own thread, following our normal rules. This thread is for tweets, usually from someone on the list below, which give us information in some way about anything related to the show or upcoming storylines.

Please link each tweet and then set it off in italics, quotes or a quote box. To link a tweet, click "expand" and then click "details". That will give you the link to the tweet on its own page. If this is difficult (ie posting from a phone), please at least set off the tweet in quotation marks.

If anyone has names to add to this thread, please PM them to me rather than putting them in the thread. There are unfortunately a lot of fake accounts out there, and we want to verify each account is legit before putting it in this list.

I have entered the below list as a "Twitter List" under the DaytimeRoyalty twitter account. To access it, go to

http://twitter.com/DaytimeRoyalty/days-of-our-lives

Then click "Follow this list". It will then appear in your lists.

Thanks!

It is unlikely SOD will print any letter that bashes an actor/actress, producer or headwriter. Try to be reasonable and respectful with your criticism, but don't be afraid to express your point of view about the show and its storylines.

If the comment line inboxes are full, wait until they're emptied and call back later.

OK, I'm going to get trounced for saying this, but Drake's tweets, I think, have crossed the line to rather pathetic.

That line was crossed awhile ago. I mean, seriously, who begs for their job back on social media?! Man up, dude. Have some self respect. There are far better ways to handle it...

Give me a break people....he is a DAYS vet that has been treated HORRIBLY by TPTB....I say let him vent in any way he wants too.

DAYS should not be able to treat their vets like this and get off scott free.

I don't think there is anything wrong on Drake's tweets. It's not like he's bashing the show or anything. AND I do understand his frustration bc he deserves better than this. If he had to leave , his last scene should've been with Marlena, not Kristen or Brady. Jmo

On the one hand, I don't understand why Drake's tweeting like this, because I'm sure he doesn't want to burn his bridges. On the other hand, Days hasn't cared about stuff like that in the past - I mean Thaao has done much worse, and Days has asked him back. But regardless, I completely agree with Mitch. Drake has been on the show such a long time, and they're really treating him terribly. Molly Burnett leaves and Corday says the door's always open for her to come back, but they can't even (it seems) tell Drake what's going on with him?

I can undertand Drake's arguments, but I can also see TPTB's side. They're damned if they use him and they're damned if they don't. If he's not on, people complain about him being mistreated. But if he is on, people complain about his acting. Nobody can win.

I'm a little bored with all the baseball innuendos about his job, too. But, really, the formula for getting back into the field isn't that difficult. Just show up to at work, Drake. Mentally and Physically.

  I hope so Christmas miracles are a John and Marlena specialty and he also tweeted this :$

Drake Hogestyn
Gotta get off the Salem bench and back in the box so I can jack a long ball off Doc! #take'emdeep
does this mean Marlena's in prison for Kristen's murder? B/c that's certainly the way it reads to me. And still no John?? If they don't say he's in some Dimera dungeon somewhere this really doesn't make any logical sense as to why he's not in town.
Maybe I'm missing it, but where are you getting anything about prison?
just putting Eileen's departure in with the "long ball off Doc" thing sounded like he wanted John to come back to take the heat off Marlena for something. Idk, it's late, lol.
A long ball is a home run. So, more baseball, not jail.

I might be able to get behind DH's tweets if he were venting (although probably not, tbh), but he's not venting, imo. He's just begging to be taken back. If this was the 80s, he'd probably send TPTB a mixtape of sappy love songs. It's really very sad and uncomfortable to watch someone carrying on like this in public.

I personally think people are being very hard on him. I'm sure he knew those were some of his last shows, and he couldn't have been happy about that. I mean we know he wasn't happy based on his tweets now. But he's supposed to give the performance of a lifetime while being totally pissed at TPTB?

Who begs for their job after they failed to do that job satisfactorily?

Like, DHim needs to schedule a meeting with the writers and promise to be better or send them a fruit basket or something to get back into their good graces. He needs to stop with the confusing ass tweets.

They weren't just complaining about his last shows, though. The complaints have been going on for months.

And, even if he was pissed... Isn't the unwritten rule of acting that you shouldn't let your feelings about behind-the-scenes stuff show in your performance?

Yes, if he wanted them to keep giving him money. I know it would have been hard to suck it up, but if you know you have no other prospects and you want to keep working, what other option is there?

Drake's acting has been off for years, tbh. But since last November it's been gradually getting worse and then half-way through he just gave up trying. Dher was given some really bad material to work with too and at least she put effort into her scenes.

I don't know why he thought he could get away with it considering he's been fired before. He should have been on his toes no matter how much he hated the s/l

He wasn't benched because of his acting, so I don't think it would have made much difference if he acted his heart out. He would still be gone, because that is what TPTB wanted and that is why they wrote his story like that. I am sure the majority of his fans will still remain his fans, even if they thought he did not do a good with the crap they wrote for him.

And this is the way to do it? Hey, I'm sure we know a lot of vets in different areas who lost their jobs who don't go whining around on Twitter. I haven't noticed Matthew Ashford doing that, nor did Deidre Hall when she was sacked. And, the way his acting was, it makes him look like a spoiled brat. Sorry. I cannot respect any vet who feels they are entitled because of years and still do a crummy job, bad writing or no. I work with quite a few veteran teachers who have to deal with lousy circumstances. The true pros go on and improve things, even if they are unfairly treated. The whiners lose people's respect. You think Drake can even CONSIDER getting other work with this attitude? Sorry, but he needs to grow up.

Yep I don't think he was fired because of his acting, to me it just seems like more of the same
Firing / letting go of the male half of Vet couples.
Matt A did a great job & yet he was fired and while BD hasn't been fired yet
he is rarely used & I wouldn't call him a bad actor.

DHim's tweets do make him look rather sad & pathetic but other Days actors have done
worse & been asked to come back. (MR,TP & CC looking at you ) I don't find his tweets dirty at all, they make lots of sense if you know your baseball lol

I can understand why Drake couldn't give his 100% to this John/Kristen/Brady mess, bc he knew how wrong and disgusting that was. It's kind of hard to play a scene when you despise the story underneath so of course that emotion it does show on screen. This year was a bad one for John. Big time. And it sucks that now Drake can't even "fix that" and show the REAL John Black and not this person, we've seen for months. It's truly sad. He deserves another shot.

It really was a crappy storyline but I would think that there has been many actors on soaps that have looked at their script and thought "Really? My character would never do that " but they still hit it out of the park. I don't know if I could really say that about him. He can do a good job at acting but this go around I had a hard time finding that in him.

Waited for over a month for the show to make any comment, but since none seems to be forthcoming I'll be moving Bryan to the recurring list and Drake to the former cast list. Never had this happen before without the show confirming exits to the soap press. Hopefully I'll be adding Drake back someday soon, but for now, he is no longer with the show.
