Interesting/Spoilerish Tweets, Week of 8/12; Twitter/FB List, Contact info in first post

Please post all interesting/spoilerish tweets in this thread. If a news article or new video is also tweeted (for example by SOD or NBC), it should probably go in its own thread, following our normal rules. This thread is for tweets, usually from someone on the list below, which give us information in some way about anything related to the show or upcoming storylines.

Please link each tweet and then set it off in italics, quotes or a quote box. To link a tweet, click "expand" and then click "details". That will give you the link to the tweet on its own page. If this is difficult (ie posting from a phone), please at least set off the tweet in quotation marks.

If anyone has names to add to this thread, please PM them to me rather than putting them in the thread. There are unfortunately a lot of fake accounts out there, and we want to verify each account is legit before putting it in this list.

I have entered the below list as a "Twitter List" under the DaytimeRoyalty twitter account. To access it, go to

http://twitter.com/DaytimeRoyalty/days-of-our-lives

Then click "Follow this list". It will then appear in your lists.

Thanks!

It is unlikely SOD will print any letter that bashes an actor/actress, producer or headwriter. Try to be reasonable and respectful with your criticism, but don't be afraid to express your point of view about the show and its storylines.

If the comment line inboxes are full, wait until they're emptied and call back later.

The PR team at Days wants us to let everyone know they check this board daily and they report our feedback to producers. They also check the comment line, so make sure to call it often and leave your feedback about the show!

I honestly think that the taping schedule affects some actors' performances. Some may need a little time to get familiar with the script/scene and make it work. This does not mean they are a bad actor/actress. I am pretty sure that most great movie actors have the time to get a feel for the scripts. NBC may be saving money. But the quality is not as good.

I agree. It's clearly an issue, because both Eileen Davidson and Chandler Massey have discussed feeling "burnt out" because of the taping schedule. It's the primary reason she left. I imagine it would be extremely difficult for actors to memorize such a tremendous amount of material in such little time. I get that it is saving them money, but there is a point where it begins to hurt them. That might be James Scott's problem these days. He's just not good. Maybe he's burning out?

I think JS started to go downhill when they changed the shooting schedule a few years ago. Also he was on 4-5 days a week. He was pretty good from 2006-2008. Even ED has had a few off days this time around. They really overworked her.

Regarding the shooting schedule, I wonder if it really makes that big a difference between two episodes a week and three episodes a week. It seems like the shooting schedule is designed to maximize scenes and they film seven episodes a week. But I figure they shoot scenes out of order, so, in one day, they will probably shoot a bunch of scenes that take place on one set even though they appear in several episodes. That saves time and money in terms of having to set up multiple sets, plus it means that they can stagger when actors are called. But it also means that even for characters who appear in only two episodes a week, that could make for some very difficult work days, especially if the episodes are dialogue-heavy.

Unfortunately, that aspect of the shooting schedule is the one thing that I don't see them possibly changing. TPTB could cut down the four month delay between shooting and airing episodes by going dark more often or for some longer periods, but compressing more than a week of episodes into a week is what allows them to cut down significantly on labor costs. Right now, they get seven episodes for five days of labor. Slowing down the shooting schedule would mean shooting on more days and increasing the cost per episode significantly.

Seems like I remember KC saying something about changing how far ahead they shoot in one of his last interviews.

There is absolutely no reason for any actor to shoot three full episodes in a single day. That is simply piss poor work and planning by the EP or someone else. Second, the suits or writers need to learn to balance the stories and cast members. Except for JJ, the rest of the contracted young cast has been appearing once a week. Some of the older cast (Hope, Marlena, Kate, Roman, Caroline) also do not have enough to do. If some of the load placed on some characters (Kristen, Sami, EJ, Jennifer, Daniel) was distributed to other characters and if no one was forced to shoot three full episodes in a day, then this show would'nt be encountering the labor problems it is now facing. Also, the actors need to buck up a little. They sure seem to enjoy those half days of work or those weeks where the show is shooting and they only work one or two days.
