OK start. I don't know if I'll stick it out though, the plot seems really convoluted. I don't know how anyone who wasn't already watching TVD could even make sense of their backstory from that pilot, or want to. And picking up minutes from the end of an episode of another series that aired last season isn't going to help them bring in new viewers either.
Not sure why being the king of New Orleans of all places is such a big deal.
And the "shock" at the end. Meh.
