I don't know. I can tell you that a lot of us have a hard time waiting now. We want to see SOMETHING happen for her...something about her life. Something that affects her.
We can't help it. We're fans, and we've waited for a couple of years now. At first I was patient because the divorce was new, and I was getting used to THAT idea...and I don't think jumping right into a new relationship right away is something Kayla would do.
Even in that long ago Shane/Kayla stuff, they didn't get truly intimate for about a year after Steve died.
So I waited...I was fine with it. And when they put her at the hospital again, I was very glad about it. Still am.
But I'm now officially tired of waiting and feeling impatient...because how long do I have to wait?
They don't have to cast some big name or anything, but they could cast a recurring actor to play someone interested in Kayla. Why not? She's recurring. He can recur. If something clicks, develop it more.
I don't know.
I just want something for HER.

I agree that it was complicated, but I do think you can separate who is responsible for what pretty easily. Adults are responsible for their own actions. I don't think Kayla is any more responsible for Jack raping her, because she led him on in the relationship, than, say, for Duke raping Adrienne (something else Steve accused her of because she kept Steve from killing his father, which would have prevented the assault). The dynamics were complicated but the actions were simple.
The story was actually socially relevant at the time because the marital rape exception was just being phased out in a number of states. Before these laws changed in the 70's and 80's, if you were a wife, you didn't have the right to refuse consent to your husband. And as awful as it can be for the victims to see their attackers get off with a slap on the hand like Jack did, that is also realistic because marital rape is still often prosecuted as a lesser crime to this day, even when it is violent like Jack's assault which left bruises. So to see Kayla's consciousness of what happened to her, and standing up for herself on the stand, was a good social moment for Days.

"Apparently, if you get your name on a ball, you're in for life."
This becomes especially puzzling given the hot (and probably true) rumors that Stephen Nichols is about to return to GH. You'd think they'd go ahead and cement the breakup.

I want something for Kayla, too, because MBE is one of my favorites. I'm am still excited about this, especially if it doesn't have anything to do with Daniel as per CM's comments, just want them to get it right.

||Almost everything in this preview was not seen on the show this week. I wonder if someone mixed up the promo for this week and next week.|
