I'm not sure this counts exactly, but Duke being at Adrienne's apartment and grabbing her and looking at her and saying she's all grown up. That was chilling because you knew exactly what was about to happen.

the morgue fight between MarDevil and John was pretty creepy :scared:

For a storyline, I found the Salem Strangler story the scariest, especially the scenes in which we thought Jake was murdering Marlena (when the victim turned out to be Samantha) and when Jake tried again to murder Marlena at Don Craig's cabin.

For scary scenes, I have to go with Trish Clayton's step-father trying to rape her and one of her alters slamming him in the head with an iron and killing him.
I got chills just reading this.

"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."

All the murders in the Salem Stalker -storyline were scary for me! When it aired in Finland I was only eight or nine years old (I don't remember clearly), so the whole storyline was scary for me at the time. Especially Maggie, Cassie, Roman and Tony's murders were scary. (When the tiger mauled Tony- even though he didn't die to that, it was really scary scene.) On the other hand I found Alice's death a bit amusing.

I'm gonna say this is my favorite scary moment. Roman's death actually worked really well, because in any other case Roman could have been able to take the killer out, but the shock of taking away the mask and having it revealed to be Marlena was such a shock to him that it was no wonder he couldn't fight back. And the wedding cake tray, having the bride and groom stuffed down his throat, and Kate's bloody scream at the end were amazing to me!

At the end it was so satisfactory. I SO wanted Marlena to be the killer, and she was! I'm not withcounting the things that happened after that though. Now when I think about this story, it was cartoonish, but at the time I was actually riveted, couldn't miss an episode. This storyline has gotten way too much unnecessary flack. It was a great storyline actually and all in all. I get that not all were happy that the characters were all alive, but this couldn't have been done any other way. I mean, nobody's gonna kill off Alice Horton by stuffing donuts down her throat. That's just not gonna happen. So I'm perfectly fine with these people being alive after all. This way, we got the best of the best. The murders AND the happy ending.

1. The death of Samantha Evans (when viewers thought Marlena was being killed).

2. Vivian rolling around on Carly's grave after having buried her alive.

3. Roman's murder at his wedding to Kate. Lauren Koslow's blood-curdling scream gives me chills to this day!

That's a good one!

I would also like to add when Curtis injects Billie with drugs.

- You're my little girl. We had a good time once, we can have a good time again baby.
- You know what I like the best about you Billie, when you fight me like this, it turns me on when you fight me.

and when Paul tries to rape Nicole.

- You wanna know a secret? I wish I did, I wish I knew all about you Nicky.
- What are you talking about?
- That's my one regret about the old days. That all I did was watch while you gave it away to those pigs on the set, creeps who'd watch later. I wish I tried to first myself. But what the hell, buter late then never right Nick. Come on baby, show daddy what you can do.

It's not this?

Also, any scene with Charity Rahmer "acting" might qualify.

Here are some of my favorites:

The scene on Melaswen when Tony/Andre's talking to a chair like he's speaking to Stefano and it swings around with a corpse in it!

Tom's floating head, although that's more of a whimsical creepiness than anything.

When RealPrincess Gina lights Stefano on fire, he burns like a torch and is in bandages for days.

Right after Bo and Hope's 2000 Christmas wedding when Shawn-D finds the corpse in the frozen pond.

When Laura Horton tried to commit suicide by hanging herself during the height of her mental instability in the late 70's.
This is stuff that on one talks about because it has never been re-aired. I would love to see 70's DOOL (Im 26 years old). I have always thought they could give Jennifer a mental illness storyline after this JJ story reaches a climax/turning point. It could be great.

Can you tell us anything else about that storyline or scenes? What did they show to allude to that? Must have been pretty risque for that decade in daytime.

the scenes at 4:40, 6:29 and 7:30 are truly terrifying. Deidre does a great job. I remember watching these scenes at 8 years old. This storyline was truly revolutionary in my opinion. Great direction, music scores, and acting.

Great cliffhanger at 8:47. What a game changer for daytime and DOOL at that time.

Start at 6:48. The infamous "death" of Marlena Evans in 1980 that started a fan outrage. Truly terrifying scenes (music and all).

Laura's mental health started deteriorating after she had Jennifer. It probably would be considered post-partum depression now. Then Laura believed Bill was having an affair with Dr. Kate Winograd and that set her off even further. Laura was treating Julie for depression around this time (after Julie was burned badly). She was telling Julie she (Julie) had nothing to live for and would be better off dead, while telling Doug to act like there wasn't a problem with Julie being scarred (this lead to Julie divorcing Doug).

Laura's mother had committed suicide and she started to imagine seeing her and hearing her. She believed her mother was encouraging her to kill herself. This happened shortly after Laura put toddler Jennifer on a bus by herself. Laura was standing on a stool or chair ready to hang herself with her mother's voice taunting her when Bill found her in time. She was committed to a sanitarium and Bill and Jennifer were soon written out.

Of course, this story was changed in the 90s and it was said that Laura had a breakdown after Bill had an affair with Kate Roberts. :hmmph:

Off the top of my head-

Stefano "killing" Roman on the island

The many scenes of Carly inside the coffin- that was downright creepy!

Stella putting Marlena in the pit

Those thugs forcing PornBillie to shoot heroin

Marlena killing both Maggie Horton and Doug Williams

Renee's murder by the Salem Slasher

My very first memory of Days, I don't know why, was Carly being in the hospital, and you could hear her saying she was alive (Inner thoughts) but she couldn't move. Creepy. (Especially to a 6 year old)

I remember Bo crying at the coffin while she was screaming "I'm alive BO!" Creepy.

But OMG... Inside that coffin... That gave me nightmares FOREVER.

(And yes, Vivian on top the coffin adds to the creepiness...

Marlena floating above her bed being possessed by the devil. That shit freaked me out.

Also anything involved with the Salem Strangler story. That was the only time a murder spree freaked me out on a soap.
