‘Young & Restless’ Actress Settles With Allegedly ‘Neglectful’ Agency
The parties supposedly wish each other well
The drama is over — the case of the neglected soap star has come to a close.
As first reported by TheWrap, “The Young and the Restless” star Christel Khalil filed a lawsuit against her own talent agency for allegedly being so neglectful that they sent her on an audition for the very show on which she was already working.
The long-term soap star even won an Emmy — and was nominated for four — for her role on the popular soap opera, where she worked for 10 years. Mavrick Artists Agency, the defendant, told TheWrap that the accusations were ridiculous and without merit.
“There’s no way in hell that she went out on an audition,” the company’s attorney said. “That just couldn’t have happened. Do you think ‘Young & the Restless’ is so stupid that their casting office would have scheduled such an audition? It wasn’t an audition — it was a submission.”
Khalil had also accused her now-former agency of withholding her money beyond their standard 10 percent agreement. Mavrick previously told TheWrap that she just didn’t want to pay her fees.
And now, the drama is over.
“The Parties are pleased to confirm that they have resolved all of their claims against each other, they wish each other success in their future endeavors, and the action has been dismissed with prejudice,” attorneys for Khalil told TheWrap.
The defense concurred, though no details of the settlement were released.
Khalil had left the agency before she filed the suit, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
“Both sides are a combination of happy and not happy by the nature of the settlement,” the person told TheWrap.
