Great for Days!!!
I know a lot of people are complaining about the Tomsell regime but their stories are bringing the numbers.
I hope NBC will announce a renewal soon, maybe for the 48th anniversary.

♥ Thanks to Reese for the Avi♥

as usual..just as Days is gearing up for sweeps, stories start to move and the show gets viewers...it's really that simple...if they didn't ONLY write for sweeps periods, Days would be an all around better show. Writing events isn't going to always work for Days....the stories need to move outside of sweeps periods.

I'm not surprised about Y&R. This was the week they killed off chilly's little girl.

Good for GH and Days getting new highs.

It's no different from when JER was writing DAYS

Yes, it is. Under JER it was the opposite. Most of the big stuff happened in non sweeps months and very little happened during actual sweeps.

Last week, Days wasn't gearing up for sweeps though. This stuff will be over before sweeps. This is just another example of days pulling off an event and then immediately not being able to keep people tuned in. Ratings are fine. Ratings would be better if they'd stop killing all of the potential for drama immediately.

Its time to kill off a Newman on Y&R, IMO. Time to balance it out.

Killing myself slowly

The soaps attracted almost 700K viewers in one week?

Where were those viewers last week and WHAT warranted such a spike?

Was there an early snowstorm somewhere?

Well, that Monday was Columbus Day. Also, maybe a lot of people were furloughed.

We are constantly told that these are the ratings that advertisers rates are priced on. For at least a year, Days has been 200-300,000 behind Y&R. I seriously doubt advertisers pay sooo much extra for Y&R than DAYS - or put another way - why does Days look like it has no budget and Y&R looks well produced in comparison (not as well produced as before though...)?

Yeah, there were a lot of people here in the DC area affected by the government shutdown.

Yes, and there was a lot of heavy rain in the D.C. area in the earlier part of that week too. And weren't there some snowstorms in the upper Midwest (or was that the week before)?
