We are constantly told that these are the ratings that advertisers rates are priced on. For at least a year, Days has been 200-300,000 behind Y&R. I seriously doubt advertisers pay sooo much extra for Y&R than DAYS - or put another way - why does Days look like it has no budget and Y&R looks well produced in comparison (not as well produced as before though...)?
I think Y&R has better international sales.
Exactly, Y&R and especially B&B are a hit internationally. I have no clue about Days or GH. Additionally, isn't the CBS almost considered a primetime show in Canada?

Killing myself slowly

After B&B, DAYS is the most widely distributed soap in the world. DAYS has consistently and by a wide margin been the #2 soap in Canada for decades, ranking much higher than B&B & GH. In fact, B&B was just demoted from CTV (one of the big 3 Canadian networks) to CTV 2 (Canadian equivalent of USA, Lifetime, The CW, UPN ect). Furthermore, GH was kicked to low cabler CITY years ago, after it too couldn't compete on Canada's Big 3.

In Canada, Y&R and DAYS have ruled the ratings by fat margins for a long time. They are the only 2 soaps remaining on major networks in Canada.

While Days is not that far behind in 18-49, it trails the Bell soaps massively in the US along with GH in the 25-54 and 55+ demographics which is why Y&R has been #1 for so long.

Days is gearing up for a solid November. Ratings prove that Days fans love a good reveal, especially one that exposes Kristen. If they can get a two-year demo high with an engagement party shooting, I think Kristen's reveal stands a good chance of giving the show a 3-4 year demo high. Thinking back to November 2011, I believe that was the controversial EJami griefsex outing, correct?

WANDERING Minstrel!

We had a monsoon here in Rhode Island that crippled the state. The Governor issued an edict that every constituent "stay calm and watch Days Of Our Lives "!That accounts for the bump here.
