He has to sacrifice a whole lot for her and gets nothing in return. All he has is her living at the DiMansion with the kids but beyond that, nothing much.
And he gets to have sex with her too which apparently he likes. I don't see that EJ wants anything different from Sami than what he's getting right now. Dude even seems to like getting yelled at by her because he gets to yell back and then have sex.
And that right there is just sad.

Meh...he liked sex with Taylor too and Nicole also but for some reason with those two he would actually talk about issues and problems plaguing the relationship without carrying them up the stairs caveman style to do them.....IDK I think if I was an Ejami fan I'd be so pissed at the writing for them...in the beginning it wasn't so obvious but after a while it really feels like it's being done on purpose to show that this so called relationship they have is nothing more than lust and sex...once you take that away, they don't discuss their issues, they don't tackle their problems and they haven't faced what is truly plaguing them.

This right here is why I want so much more for Ej as a character. He should be allowed to have some kind of existence and SL that doesn't become all about Sami and their constant fights and sex romps. :x He no longer even feels like a main character, he's just faded in the background as nothing more than Sami's current sex toy.
A most accurate description of 2013 EJ Dimera.

Hey, I'm all for it. Ever since they seemed to land on writing EJ as a "gray" character rather than a villain back in mid-2011, he really hasn't driven much story. I get that it's usually the villains/antagonists (Kristen, Nick, etc.) that make stuff happen on canvas, but you'd think they could find something more interesting for EJ than running for mayor, running a cosmetics company, taking over DE, etc. Or at least if those are the kinds of stories they want for him, then show us the actual stories and give him an active role in them.

On that note, Days is really a female-driven show. EJ is about the only male character that has consistently driven lots of stories in the last few years. Other than that, it's mostly been Sami, Nicole, Kate and Kristen making shit happen in Salem. Hope, Carly and Melanie also drove quite a bit of story there for awhile too. But the Salem men are mostly just appendages and they have been for awhile.

I don't think they even have adult conversations. There are really no different than Bristen when Victor asked Brady what they did other than sex. Which is why that bff conversation out of no where between Brady and Sami about their respective partners was incredibly ironic. We are about to watch one of those relationships go down in flames, a blaze of glory, and considering the very shoddy Ejami writing, I would suspect them to follow suit but who knows? Maybe TomSell just get a kick out of writing the worst Ejami coupling ever (not that they have had any better).

Beyond their history, when your character becomes so pathatic it can be replaced with Harry's dog from Third Rock From the Sun, there is a huge problem with your character.

I do think the point is that Ejami doesn't completely deal with their problems since it's the same trust issue keeps coming back to bite them. And I also think the point is that their passion/chemistry is what draws them together, as opposed to any type of healthy dynamic. But yeah, at some point, if they're going to be in a fully functioning relationship, they need to actually deal with stuff. Personally, I'd like the story have a better, long-term arc to it, but I'm fine with the basis of their story as a couple right now. That is, their issues are coming from who they are as individuals (selfish liars) and the problems that naturally arise when two selfish liars get together. That's more interesting to me than the issues coming from yet another tired triangle or some big secret that is supposed to blow up in somebody's face.

And no, Ejole and Ejaylor didn't deal with their real issues either - hence the big R2 and Griefsex reveals.

What exactly was there for them to talk about? There was no issue, Sami was teasing EJ and very proud of her man for putting Lucas in his place and over her shoulder she went for some fun  :wub2:

Then we have the time before that where they actually talked, EJ gave her space, they talked some more, Sami consulted Will and then they came together, no sex involved.

The time before that, they fought, each used Caroline and Chad respectively as a sounding board and came together after to talk about their issues and resolve it, no sex involved.

So its not an accurate picture that is being painted here with all EJ and Sami do is have sex and leaving their issues to fester. They manage to do both, and that is a win win for this EJAMI fan and I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way.

As for EJ being backburned if EJAMI are ever over and suffer the fate of Lucas and Rafe, not sure about that given that EJ is no Lucas and Rafe. EJ and Sami have danced around a relationship before and each time when it ended EJ's presence in the show never suffered one bit. I remember it even being thrown around earlier this year that James episode count and so forth would have suffered and from what I am seeing posted on this board, he is right up there.

Are you actually watching the Ejami sex scenes? They generally fight, have sex, and then talk about what got them riled up in the first place.

I think it fits their characters that they as a couple are volatile, emotional, self centered, passionate, and dysfunctional, all of which are displayed when they have a disagreement about something. As a fan of the pairing, I expect and enjoy their crazy relationship.

that last bit of your description is a perfect description of what Bo & Hope were for years. If nothing else, MarDar actually showed them talk to Marlena about their issues and be able to be more open with each other.
I don't expect EJami to ever change. And i don't really expect to hear that they're breaking up (unless they're breaking up Fetch Style) any time soon. What's funny though, is that TomSell seem to have run out of things to write for EJami. And they haven't even really been together all that long. You look at couples like John/Marlena, Bo/Hope, even Jack/Jen (to a lesser extent since they came & went on canvas) & the writers always had something to write for them that was more than some stupid "he lies/hides something/etc., she finds out, they argue, she forgives, they have sex" continuous circle. If John & Marlena were bickering, there was a real reason for it & the disagreement would last for episodes. John would talk to Bo/Abe/Roman about it, while Marlena would seek advice from Hope/whoever.
If TomSell can't find something real for EJ & Sami to do, then they need to have EJami take a vacation or something and not take away airtime from characters that could use some more, or show space from interactions/story bits that should be included in other stories but for whatever reason are not.

Nicole and Kristen have a major showdown – which ends with both their lives hanging in the balance.
Brady has a surprising response to everything Victor has done.
As Rafe and Jordan bond further, she continues to keep mum about her mysterious calls.
Eric apologizes to Nicole – but she angrily rips into him..
Sami kicks EJ out of her bed!
Will and Sonny learn about Gabi’s job offer – but she doesn’t tell them a key piece of information.
These sound great.

I don't know how to muti quote, but Tomsawyer you raise a very interesting point about their trust issues and its keeping in line with their history and who they are. Trust is not something you can just resolve, its something built over time, with each obstacle faced and hurdle overcome and it also does not mean you will not suffer set backs either. Tomsell are who they are, so I am not expecting beautifully crafted sls, but thus far they have kept EJ and Sami very true to who they are in their relationship and I love that.

As for there being talk in EJ's other relationships; talk with his hand around a neck maybe.

Wednesday ("Eric Confronts Kristen")
Eric confronts Kristen; Maggie seeks comfort from Daniel over her unstable marriage.

Maggie doesn't deserve a witty dapper dude like Victor. He should hook up with Marlena, and she should stfu.

There was a SOD feature on EM a few weeks back and there was this little part in the interview where he mentions that Brady has a huge falling out with Eric because of the sex tape. Brady can't believe the reasoning behind why/how Eric and Kristen slept together because it's too "far-fetched" or something like that. EM claimed that the rift between the two brothers will be long lasting. It almost sounded like there's still a rift in the episodes being taped now.
Des Brady ever grow a brain? What a douche.
