AZ and GV are giving wonderful performances, but I so wish Eric had just taken a second at his desk (when he was talking to himself) to express some doubt. My sympathies are with both Eric and Nicole and I do think that he's in a certain amount of shock. That doesn't make Nicole's pain any easier to take -- I blame Ari Zucker for all of her emoting. :)

That scene with Jen and JJ was .. weird. "I slapped you! Why do you look sad?" Was there supposed to be a break in between those two bits? It was strangely put together.

I love the line that Anne walks re: Theresa. She has genuine concern for JT, but she's still calculating what Theresa owes her. Then we see Theresa open her eyes and that she is essentially doing the same thing.

The sheer amount of hypocrisy that bounces around that hospital with regard to work hours is astounding. Jen and Dan are rarely there and leave whenever they want, but Anne doesn't do any work? What?

Yay, Marlena and Victor! #un-neuterVictor.
Yeah, the scene with Jen and JJ was weird. They really had me going when Jen slapped him! Turns out that was just a daydream.
That was probably a foreshadowing of what'll happen when the secret comes out.

Eric having doubts would be essential if these writers truly wanted to pair these two. That is what's missing, and it proves to me that these writers are incompetent.
I think I disagree about the writers being incompetent here. I know... :o ...I'm shocked at myself even as I typed that. :blulaugh:

I think the writers probably do see Ericole as end game. However, I doubt seriously that they are planning to pair them together as lovers any time soon. More likely Eric's actions will leave him to deal with all sorts of priest angst that will also include deep personal guilt and ultimately romantic regret about Nicole. In the meantime, I think it's possible that Nicole -- hopefully as part of an interesting umbrella story -- may finally get a happy relationship with a new, good guy...but the drama there will be her conflicted and unresolved feelings for Eric.

Anyway as a viewer who loves AZ (and has really come to appreciate GV) that's how I would write it. That's classic soap drama to me with good characters/actors in an evolving s/l. TomSell know how to do that when they want. They are soap pros. Why they continue to be so tone deaf on Dannifer is a painful mystery to me. But that doesn't mean they have to mess up Ericole...and unlike Eric I still have a little faith. For what good it does...

I think it's also important for Nicole that Eric be knocked off his pedestal. She doesn't think she's good enough for anyone as it is, but she would never have a great (and equal) relationship with Eric as-is. He's the epitome of Good and Pure and Perfect.

I felt so bad for Nicole today. Eric believes Nicole raped him but his so called 'proof' is flimsy at best, circumstantial at most ... and yet he's convinced it was her even though in the thousands of memories he's had he's NEVER seen the woman's face! Maybe he's so mad because secretly he wanted to have sex with Nicole? I don't know ... for a priest he's being pretty close-minded.

Oh goodness ... Anne is just too much but Dan has given both her and Theresa all the ammunition they need to completely destroy his reputation. Anne could have Theresa claim rape ... Theresa could remember and blackmail Dan into being with her ... all because he's being 'noble' and protecting JJ. I knew Nicole would be the one to overhear JJ and Dan talking.

More random Hope scenes today ... oh well, I'm just happy to see her.

Loved Marlena's reaction when she found Kristen's flashdrive on Dan's desk.

^^^^ a monkey's balls! Eric is hardly that and Nicole needs to quit putting herself down just because the douchebags in her life think the sun shines out their rear ends. Right now I want her away from ALL of them, Brady, Daniel and especially Eric. He can go suck it as far as I am concerned. I keep thinking to myself he's as much a victim, in fact more of a victim because of what Kristen did but his behavior in his last few episodes has continued to rub me the wrong away and it keeps getting worse, not better.

I should have emoticoned. :) I totally agree with what you said -- I just think that that's what Nicole thinks. Every time she talked about Eric, she just went on and on about how amazing and perfect he was.

JJ and Daniel just set the stage for tomorrow's episode. Jennifer is gonna find JJ at Daniel's apartment and she'll get suspicious. :toetap:

I get it, my frustration is Nicole's writing. For years all I have heard from her mouth is how wonderfully perfect this guy or that guy is and I have to listen as she puts herself down in the same sentence. I am sick of it.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if my tone was reading correctly on the interwebs. :)

I feel you. It seems like every time she takes a few steps forward, she ends up getting bumped a dozen back. It's frustrating to see a lack of character growth in this area when you have an actress who can pull off anything you throw at her.

Oh no, Ciara isn't going to be at the wedding of Brady and Kristen. That's a shame. But kudos to the writers for writing dialogue to explain why she's not going to be there.
why isn't Ciara going to be there?
There was some throw away line that she was going somewhere on a planned trip and couldn't be there.
Oh, I think Hope said she was taking Ciara to see Matilda. That's the Broadway musical based on the Roald Dahl book. I thought that was really clever, since Lauren Boles could be a precocious little Matilda herself. After all, she was the Mini Me Rachel on Glee. This is how I picture Ciara at the musical. :wub2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywaIJ1qI2Zc

I don't agree. I think that would be true if we were at a different point in this story but we're not. Eric hasn't been shown to have the same feelings as Nicole....yet. It's not in the writing but I think GV has added a layer of denial to Eric that also really helps this story. IMO, it comes across that Eric needs to believe this to ward off his own feelings. It's Nicole's nature to put herself down and quite frankly, I'm not in a hurry to see that change. I saw what happened to Sami when she grew out of that, and I'm not interested in that for Nicole or AZ.

AS can't act to save her life, AZ is quite well equipped to bring the right kind of nuances to a grown up Nicole Walker with a self esteem higher than a puddle of water. The self flagellation is so overdone where she is concerned.

Perhaps. But it provides story.

I feel totally jipped that the Days writers couldn't work in any kind of Halloween festivities into their stories. It's not like these are on speed dial and every scene propels the action. They drag shit out til our eyes glaze over so why not give us an energy boost with a spooky party atmosphere as a backdrop?
Maybe they're just in a place where the drama is in such a downer cycle they couldn't muster the enthusiasm themselves to carry it off? It's a missed opportunity imo to liven up Salem and wet the appetite for some variation instead of the same old, same old.

Thank god, Hope still hates Kristen and told Brady she doesn't want to go to the wedding! Brady once again getting a little but of reality. Thank you, Hope!
Hope seems to have found her Salem Brain after losing it for those few Fetch-heavy Theresa's OD episodes.
Unfortunately, she's not yet done with that stuff...since Hope is picked to be the one to spill it to Abigail about Jeannie Danesa. "I didn't even know they were dating." Please, that was both lame and unnecessary IMO. :x
but Hope being the one to accidentally tell Abby isn't completely unreasonable or strange. Abby calling her "Aunt Hope" was a bit more strange since Abby always just called her "Hope".

I'm not liking the writing for Ericole. If they plan on pairing them up, how hard could it possibly to write a love story?
Apparently it's rocket science for TomSell.

We've seen her with human resources paperwork.
LOL!!! Kudos to whoever hired her in that capacity. Yeesh.
