LOL "And of course the great writers, the dream team I think." I stopped reading at that point.I think he must have some selective amnesia because I'm just not seeing the "great" tbh. |

Okay I should clarify lol. I would like the name of one viewer who is "very happy that Maggie is so integral right now"! And yes I know there are viewers that love Maggie lol. ;) |

I love Maggie and am glad that she is featured as often as she is. especially since she was essentially non-existent for much of the 90s. I am not a fan of the eggbaby saga. Then again, I have never been a fan of long-lost unknown child storylines, whether it was Mickey Horton or Eve Donovan or Swampbaby Chelsea or Melanie Robbins Layton Kiriakis Jonas or Chad Peterson Woods DiMera. The insta-connection is always a major fail! Edited by dooldooldool, Nov 6 2013, 04:13 AM.

Well, I am still a Maggie fan, but even I can admit that the character has been dragged through the dirt these last two years. Lol. I was happy with the way they were writing her up until MarDar took over. Both Jennifer and Maggie need some repairing. |

I love Maggie as well -- but she needs some restoring to the "true" Maggie, not the Maggie of the last few years. And how dare Meng talk about Doug and Julie being fan favorites and then NEVER use them in storylines?! Ugh! |

When we talked to Greg Meng at the Nashville book signing, he brought up Doug and Julie as characters who could add to the show. I think we might see more of them as Hope's story evolves. |

Well, SSH did tape 12 episodes to air in January (although Bill did not) so maybe there's still some hope of seeing more of Doug and Julie. No law against dreaming as Bill said in one of his recent tweets! |

The best soap opera writing tell storyline that involve a mix of newer cast members with veterans. I'm excited about SSH shooting 12 episodes and I'm hoping that Greg is sincere about using Doug and Julie more often. Fingers crossed.... |

I have lost the little respect I had for Greg Meng. I don't believe anything he says anymore...he's just like Corday to me now...and at one point I actually thought he was a good spokesman for Days...not any more....everything that comes out of his mouth now is pure bullshit. |

His brain has been infected with the "TPTB spin" disease. I wonder if people realize that if you have a really good product it sells itself, while needing to say how great this part is and that part and how you love what's been done here & there (and basically overselling) makes people wonder why the need for all the bull and think that they're trying to make shit sound amazing. |

While I wouldn't go so far as to call the writers a "dream team" (I mean, really?) I do think the show has been very entertaining for the past few months and it's in a much better state than it was a year ago, or a year before that, and on and on. There are definitely areas in need of glaring improvement, but at least I am entertained these days. Usually, anyway. As for Chandler and Freddie having any chemistry whatsoever...bahahahahaha. No. Just no. Sonny and Will are both boring as fuck. Seeing them (and Gabi) mew over that baby damn near makes me sick. (Cold, I know, but there is just NOTHING going on with any of them.) For that reason, I am very optimistic about Chandler's replacement. I hope he breathes new life into Sonny and Will's relationship, because while we have all been watching Chandler on our screens, there is no denying that he's been checked out for about a year now. Resting on his laurels, one might say, since he got that first Emmy. I'm sure he'll be more fulfilled doing whatever he does next. It's clear he could not be more bored at DAYS. |

It's like the minute they made her Victor's wife and they gave the egg baby to her she lost everything that once made the character great. I use to love Maggie and now I would really love to see her and her egg baby die a quick death and make Victor go back to his evil ways out of pure revenge for someone killing his wife....hey maybe she's the 'major death'....lol |

This interview proves to me Meng has ZERO control anymore...he has been castrated over there after what happened with Mardar...he sounds like Corday...who is even FURTHER out of touch with the show.

*sigh* I beg the board's indulgence. I feel a case of Fantasy Headwriting coming on... IMO, it would be very easy to fix a lot of this Maggie Kiriakis problem while also addressing Egg Baby and bringing on a new family that's mostly unrelated to mix with the existing characters while utilizing story elements/characters who already exist. I would branch all of this on Jordan Ridgeway's mysterious past. First, I would bring back Sarah Horton (late 30s) who takes an immediate dislike to Daniel which would then build to I-hate-you-but-I'm-forbiddenly-attracted-to-you storyline. Being bio-half siblings, it would be a definite forbidden attraction that would eventually be masked by Sarah's hate of Daniel & her desire to see that Jennifer stays away from him "For Jennifer's own good." Meanwhile, Liam is revealed as Jordan's ex-husband who's also from a VERY prominent and dangerous family. Despite her feelings for Liam, she faked her death & went underground to escape his family once she learned the truth about the shady business dealings of his father (who then comes to town to mix with the mature set). It turns out that the father is an old friend/business partner of Victor's. His arrival makes Victor VERY uncomfortable and he does his best to get him, Liam, & Jordan out of Salem ASAP. The father's younger son (late 30s) then arrives in Salem and takes a shine to Abby. The younger son is VERY shady and dangerous and almost makes the father look like a pussycat. Long story short, it turns out the younger son is really Maggie's eggbaby and Victor falsefied all of the paperwork and test results to prove than Daniel was really her child in order to stop her search & protect her from the villainous father. Maggie, furious with Victor's lies, leaves him. Enter Don Craig who's investigating the villainous father (and has been for many, many years). It turns out the villainous father is the bio-father of the younger son while Maggie is the bio-mother. The younger son is the villainous father's only bio-son because it turns out that Liam was the product of an affair his now dead mother had with --- Don Craig. Well, you see how this works. :) |
