The musical score used when Kristen lied again and said Eric took advantage of her was SO MUCH WIN! How about the irony of Kristen saying Eric said that "God loves me and wanted to show me", considering her holy, spiritual self when she arrived in town (pre the two affairs with John behind Tony's back)?

I don't think I have ever hated Kristen as I do right now. This episode just killed any residual pity I felt for her character.

She's caused so much devastation for so many, there's no way I feel sorry for that psychopath. And to add insult to injury, I'm pretty sure she's convinced herself that she really is the victim here.

She's caused so much devastation for so many, there's no way I feel sorry for that psychopath. And to add insult to injury, I'm pretty sure she's convinced herself that she really is the victim here. Believe it or not -- and this time, I'm fairly positive that I will be the only one to express this opinion here (and maybe anywhere, for that matter) -- but I feel more sympathy for Kristen than I do for Eric. I just can't muster up any sympathy for characters that I don't care about, and thanks to his turn as a priest and, mainly, Greg Vaughan (because in the hands of Jensen Ackles, Eric was one of my favorite characters), I no longer care about Eric. The same is true for Nick and E.J. -- no matter what happens to them, I will probably never be able to feel an ounce of sympathy for them because I just. Don't. Care. About them. At all.
Now, before anyone takes this the wrong way and gets upset over it (because that's not my intention) -- I'm obviously not saying that what happened to Eric isn't tragic. If it had happened to practically anyone else on the canvas other than the aforementioned three people, I would probably be right there with the rest of you, (figuratively) huddled in a corner in a heaving mess of devastation. But just like it's easy to root for horrible things to happen to a villain that you would normally never wish on your worst enemy, it's hard to feel sympathy for characters that you can't stand -- either because they're villains, or because they're just preachy, judgmental bores who are a complete waste of time to you.

I'd like to feel something for Eric, but I don't. With this show's poor handleing of the subject matter + whiplash writing, knowing that Eric will be perfectly fine in a couple weeks with zero emotional harm, and it'll be treated as him having a tantrum over nothing really takes away from caring about what he's going through. And that is really sad.

I'm sorry to shock you, but you are not the only one ;) . I agree with all you've said, except I don't think it's Greg Vaughan's fault or that the way he plays Eric is the reason that makes me feel bored with the character. It's the writing that, in my opinion, made the character quite one-layered. Characters that are only "black" or "white" (especially those of martyr-type) are simply not interesting, they don't make me root or feel for them. It's how I see it. Why I feel for Kristen? Maybe lots of viewers would disaggree but I see Kristen as a grey character.

...or you're both alternate personalities of mine that I have no awareness of.

If one of your alternate personalities lives in a small country somewhere in Europe it can be the case :D.
