Oh, well, that is not exactly true. One can maybe argue EJ was deeply conflicted and it's a hard thing to choose between the love and loyalty for your sister and the love for your fiance. And I have stated his decision to keep the secret was symptomatic or played on very real issues existing for EJami - if you are to admit them as a serious coupling that merits that consideration. They come from families that are, at this point, by nature at odds with each other, a fact that will probably continue to pose them with various conflicts of interest and tests of trust. But in this case, EJ did choose to protect his sister over coming clean to Sami with information she could have used to protect or help her brother. He chose to keep Sami in the dark. And at the wedding, he tried to hush hush Eric from making very important connections that would relate the video to the night he fell ill/was raped. And he is continuing to lie to Sami's face, implying that the sex depicted was consensual. He is lying to save his ass. Yes he doesn't want Sami to be angry with him, he doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize what they have by allowing the truth of his actions to come out, but that is not the same as love. That is self-preservation and survival.
I am not going to make comments now about whether EJ really does love Sami or what that "love" means. That's not up to me to say. But in this case, lying to cover his ass does not love equal. And perhaps he comes clean right away once Sami confront him tomorrow, which would be better than further digging himself into a corner. But up to this point, I feel at least the cover-up of the lie is coming from a selfish place.
His choice was not as simple as Kristen vs Sami; choosing to keep quiet and allow sleeping dogs to lie was what he thought was in the best interest of them all, leave well enough alone. Its also a very idealistic outlook that a certain amount of selfishness is not part of being in love.......people make mistakes as EJ did with keeping quiet over what his sister did, and him trying to make sure he does not lose Sami or his family does not take away from the love he has for them, more so than anything IMO it conveys how precious they are because his greatest fear is losing them. Yeah I just don't see it that way - letting sleeping dogs lie because you don't want to ruffle feathers and prefer to keep things status quo, even though you are keeping a very explosive and important secret that directly affects your beloved's loved ones, reads as cowardice to me. Yes you can lie to someone and still love them - depending on the lie. I know enough to understand relationships are sophisticated like that. But for me, this lie was of a certain degree, that I can't justify it away quite so easily. And then to continue to cast shade upon your beloved's loved ones in order to maintain your lie isn't exactly noble imo either. One can still say EJ loves Sami but in this case is, thus far, at this moment, is thinking about survival and self-preservation. That's ok - that's reconcilable. But I wouldn't say this particular action is all about his love for Sami.
I also didn't say EJ's choice was black and white - I posed it as a dilemma. But the defense that he thought it best to keep this secret in order to keep things quiet because that would be "best" for everyone sounds like flimsy rationalizing on his part to me.

This is EJ Dimera we are talking about, it doesn't have to be and it never should be noble.
As for his rationale, what counts is that its his, its what made him do what he did; it being 'flimsy', or foolhardy does not take away from that.

And I used "noble" facetiously. The point there was to say if the motivation to lie was to leave things as they were, now that the event is exposed, continuing to lie denigrates Eric in the process. I am not sure how I see that action as coming from a place of love for Sami.

So Brady is fine with Victor's role in exposing Kristen....and he's also apologetic to Nicole.
But he can't dredge up an ounce of sympathy for the woman who raised him from toddlerhood..the woman who loved him as her own... the woman who tried to help him see the light numerous times on Kristen, because she has always had his best interests at heart.
Piss off, Brady.

There isn't anything to defend is my argument because his love for Sami was not and still is not in question. That is why my stance is that they was no choosing Kristen over Sami, or a choice of Kristen vs Sami showing Sami doesn't matter to him when compared to the Dimeras.

It's the rock that is the mother of his children and the one that keeps him warm/and or hot at night. With the rock, there would have been anger, rage, murder, pestelence...whatever. But with the hard place, he profited nothing and is left to tell more lies to cover other lies and more lies and more lies, and nasty comments he knows to be false just to cover up lies. And those lies will eventually bite him in the ass, has he learned nothing? Not that I care... just saying. What happened the first seconds of today's eppy, did we see Kristen??

I'm glad Roman wants to help Nicole, but I would love it if the writers took a page from the movie Bernie and had the entire town rally around Nicole knowing what she did. Bernie, if you haven't seen it, is about the "nicest guy in town" who shoots a little old lady in the back and stuffs her in a freezer and spends all her money - but the town loved him and hated her and so they bizarrely rally around him.
I picture a montage of everyone saying things like "Sure, she kidnapped my baby, but she didn't really mean to run that woman off the road." and "Yes, she tried to kill me once, but I'm absolutely sure Kristen slammed on her breaks" and "Well, she married me because my mother paid her but you know, in this case, I think she's innocent." did she run her off? it seemed like both loss control "yes she was smacking her with her car from behind" but it looked like both loss control and swirved. (it wasn't like she was sticking a knife in her behind, which would have been justified.)

Love that EJ kept digging himself in deeper and deeper. If anything Kristen's confession to him and his agreement to keep it from Sami cements my belief that Sami means next to nothing to him. She's not a DiMera by blood consequently she will always come last to him. What ticks me off is that Sami is too dumb to figure that out for herself but then she deserves to live a long and miserable life with the likes of EJ.
EJ tried to incriminate his father over and over again a couple of months ago, to get Sami out of jail. He even offered to go to prison in exchange for Sami's freedom. Sami doesn't think she comes last to EJ, because that's not what's been playing out.

Piss off, Brady. This. I was OK with Bristen. I even didn't think Brady is as stupid as everybody was saying but after this . Praising Victor and blaming Marlena  . It doesn't make an inch of sense.

UGH -- the president's press conference wiped out nearly the entire episode in the Central Time Zone! Arrrgh. Help!
What time does it air where you are (I am central too)? I record it, so I hope I get it. I'm in central and I got it all, but I would've been peeved MAJORLY if Barry jacked up Days to lie talk more about Obamacare.

Hey, Supergirl can you get me screen shot of that smiley face that EJ gives Brady in that same scene? It's right before Sami <cough> comforts Brady. Please and thank you! :hail: Posted Image Thank you!
Oh my! They were BOTH smiling!???
