First the look-alike. Then Hope arrives. :)
What is Hope doing at a crack house? My guess would be she is undercover or she shows up to arrest everybody in sight. LOL
If Hope is undercover, I hope she's wearing something bitchin'. lol. & she needs the sleek-straight hair too. lol. Sadly, I'm guessing she just arrives with other cops to make a bust. Undercover would definitely be more fun to watch. Either way, I hope Hope takes no bull or excuses from Brady. Love for her to arrest him and lock him up! And he better not call john for bail money. :blulaugh:

Instead of sending Brady to a crack house, can't he just join a nudist colony? Where is that spoiler? C'mon writers!
Maybe it's a nude crack house.

I'm betting the JJ spoiler isn't anywhere near as interesting as pregnancy. I'm betting he's acting distant per Daniel's orders and she thinks Daniel can help her. lol
This would presume Theresa was interested in getting close to him again. WHY? She only interacted with him for his drug hook ups. Those days are over. The only time she offered up sex was basically in exchange for drugs and because she couldn't get Daniel to sleep with her. She has no vested interest in JJ. I doubt she's suddenly wanting to be his friend or lover. She still views him as a punk ass kid. I can't see her wanting to get in contact with JJ unless she HAS to. Oh, it'll happen.

Whereas Marlena never did anything for me. Too self righteous for my taste. I realize I'm in the minority here, but I'd root for Kristen before Marlena just because of that. I never cared much for saintly characters, therefore I'm often disappointed lol.
I have nothing against Marlena and sure she can bring something on this show, the question is more, is she a super interesting character? In my opinion, no. Iconic or whatever for viewers who grew up with the show but would a new viewer really think that she is exciting? I do not think so but it does not mean it's true :) What I mean is that you can not rely on old references it does not work that way in this industry where everything is fast and viewer demand more than what they may have done before. I wonder that maybe it's a difference between old and new viewer-starting what they want to see? What do you think?
I think that your view of how "the industry" works is pretty much always flat out wrong. This is daytime, not primetime. The goal is to keep viewers. The show is more likely to bring back old viewers than it is to gain new viewers. In daytime, "icon" status and history is pretty important because a big point of a soap is to have familiarity. These shows have been on for decades, and long term characters used in any capacity are part of what keeps the audience around and what's capable of bringing back lapsed viewers. However, I don't think Marlena should be front and center anymore (and she's not), and I also don't think a new viewer would have any reason to find her "exciting." Her place on the show isn't to be an exciting main character. I do wish the show would give newer viewers a little more of a chance to see her point of view and see why some "older" viewers would root for her (same with Julie). That's something that I think has been missing since they brought her back (it's something they've screwed up with pretty much every return over the last few years, IMO). But if they didn't bother to do it with Kristen on canvas, I don't think they ever will. I don't think they realize that they need to. I think they assume that everyone knows the character well enough, and that's a pretty bad assumption on their part since even in her last decade on the show, her focus has been pretty minimal overall. All that being said, I think that Sami is a big dull bore. The fights online about her are more interesting than she could ever hope to be. She hasn't done anything new or interesting since the 90s. Everything that once made her rootable has been stripped from her, and because of that I have a hard time seeing what it is that anyone finds interesting about her now unless it's just who she's paired with...who I also happen to find to be a big dull bore. And it's not like I'm old. I've been watching for a long time, but I'm in the target demographic. And it's not that I just don't "get" the writing for her. I get it. I just don't like it. The choices aren't only Marlena and Sami. The focus has been on Sami for a very long time, and it's past time to move on or at least phase back. That absolutely happened to Marlena, Hope, Jennifer, Kayla, Julie...every lead female character (that were seemingly far more successful in the spotlight). It's past time for them to try something new. It's the only thing they haven't tried. And it's not even something they should try because of ratings (though I think there's a good argument for that). It's just something they should try as part of the natural progression of the show. That was long.
I think itīs natural progress of the show that old leading characters gets phased back once they get older, but the difference between Sami and the other female characters you mentioned is that AS is still in her 30, once she become in her mid fourties Iīm sure she will get phased back too if the show is still around then. There are many that doesnīt like Sami but there are many that likes her too so I think they would loose even more viewers with her gone.
The show needs to be more balance though and write for more characters, so that there is something for everyone to see, but it seems that the show might have realized that since but Lucas and Hope is getting stories. They should write more for vets to bring back old viewers, but they also need more young characters to bring in new viewers. I donīt understand why they donīt sorase Samiīs kids, but there doesnīt seem to be any plans to do that yet since they made a casting call for new 5-year old Sydneys.

Friday Theresa asks Daniel to help her with JJ
I will accept this, but only if it's really "Theresa ask Daniel to help her with JJ after she discovers she's pregnant." Otherwise :frustration: I just read on Days Cafe that Theresa wants to make an announcement at Daniel's hearing. So yeah, it's gonna happen. ;)

Well, to be fair, I'm not sure Jennifer knows that at this point in the spoilers. Jennifer doesn't know about JJ's involvement. At this point none of it is her business. Daniel is not her boyfriend and Theresa owes her nothing.

Well, to be fair, I'm not sure Jennifer knows that at this point in the spoilers. I'd be surprised if Jen-Jen knows at this point. Because if JJ receives "discouraging news" about his own hearing, he probably can't say anything about what happened until he knows he's in the clear. Another example of TomSell dragging things out needlessly to prolong a story (and a pairing) that's already past its expiration date. And Jen-Jen probably only cares about whether Theresa slept with Daniel before she O'D'd. Nothing else even registers on her Daniel-centric radar. Theresa will probably only testify about what a stand-up guy Daniel is for saving her life--Dr. Douche will be exonerated just before Christmas, so the holiday worship can begin. And IIRC, his insta-recovery from hand tremors so he could perform emergency surgery on Jen-Jen was last year's "Christmas miracle," so I guess he gets to be the focus of this year's too. Oh, goody. :sarcasm:

The other female leads were phased out in their 30s and late 20s. Marlena wasn't because she wasn't on the show until her 30s.
Well that is to soon IMO that is still young, not that you are old when you are in your 40īs either but it would make more sense to me if they got phased back then.
