I'm so glad they didn't go the other way and cast Chrishell as Theresa and Jen as Jordan. They just wouldn't have fit.

I understand that legally Sonny has zero rights but that guy has been helping both Gabi and Will look after that little girl, so while he has no legal rights him involving himself in all of this doesn't bother me because he's had a pivotal role in this little girl's life too, and tbh I'm not a huge Gabi fan (I do go back and forth on her, though) but still, I'm probably a little biased.
I agree. Sonny loves that little girl as if she were his. Also, Gabi deliberately held off telling them about NY because she was afraid they would get upset. I would think she could have discussed this with Will instead she tells Nick all the details and of course he is going to encourage her to take the job because then he gets exactly what he wants.

Seriously, couldn't Chad call Abby himself and tell her he is not coming back.
Have Chad heard of a telephone or cellphone for that matter?
Also has EJ heard about cellphones or landline?
Did we really have to see Abby walk on at ten minutes before the end.

Gosh and they just spoil my Eric/Nicole eyeing each other.
Chad called EJ. Why Didn't he call Abby too? Did he call Sonny as well?
This is so lame.

It's another potential source of amazing conflict - that Sonny functions as a parent and yet has no legal rights. One state (California I believe) has actually granted parental rights to three people - a lesbian couple and the biological father of their son - because the court recognized that all three people had been parenting the child since birth. It's also considered a victory for stepparents. Of course, in this case I think every party consented and wanted the legal arrangement this way. The lesbian couple asked for the father to be granted his rights (when previously he had been a sperm donor) because their child was sent to foster care when they couldn't care for him even though the bio dad was ready and available.

So, the fact that Sonny is a parent to Ari emotionally but not legally or biologically could be mined in really interesting ways.

And I think Gabi's modeling was a nod to history - but it actually functions in the story in a good way since I can think of very few less appropriate careers for a young single mother in new york what with the crazy hours, potential loss of income at any moment, pressure to be thin, casting couch and general sleazy company. Of course, this is days, and they would have us believe the ultimate worth of a young woman is her ability to model.

I do think though at the end of the day they all need to come to some sort of agreement with a baby in the picture.
Something like Will dumping Sonny so he can join Gabi in New York while Sonny remains in Salem and rekindles things with Brian?
I think that ship has sailed

Unpopular opinion time.

Sonny's biggest flaw since this whole storyline started has been thinking that Gabi would be as considerate to him as he has been to her. Despite not liking her much, he has taken care of her and Arianna financially and otherwise since the day that baby was born, and she repays him by yanking the rug out from under him (and Will) to follow a dream she hasn't mentioned in 6 months. Never mind that two days ago she was perfectly happy to stay in Salem exactly as she is - no job, no career aspirations, apparently no desire to provide for her child until something literally landed in her lap.

Of course, none of any of this actually matters with what's about to happen with Nick, and then CB leaving. Even if there is a custody battle it doesn't seem like that'll be the focus.
Great post. Totally agree.

Took it out of the DVD player in the back of the sanctuary? I think that's the last place the DVD was seen. Much better than sending the bishop a YouTube link. LOL

I respect and understand Will's position but he's making a big mistake. Gabi offered him joint custody - what's wrong with that? He can't seriously expect her to throw her entire life away by living with him and Sonny until Ari moves out. Gabi is right - They are not Sami and Lucas ... they could easily co-parent from two different locations and have a great relationship.

As for Sonny - I lost any respect I had for this character. He's a bully and worst than that he's a bully that thinks he's better than anyone else. Throwing around his name trying to intimidate the 'little' people - you know, people like Gabi, who are beneath him. Shut up. You have NO SAY in this matter. This is between Will and Gabi so butt out and stay out.

Sigh ... it was sad to see Shane leave ... and Kim too LOL! I'm still not convinced that Theresa wasn't just snowing them all the entire time.

Enjoyed the Abe and Nicole scenes.

Oh look, it's pop-up Abby. Oh Abby, of course EJ thinks it was okay for Chad to lie ... if you only knew how easily and how often he's lying to Sami these days.

OH MY LORD ... Eric in civilian wear ... be still my leap-frogging heart!
I keep hearing about a shared custody. You can have joint legal and joint physical custody
but if they lived in two different coast his chance seeing his child will probably 10 to 11% a year. My brother lived through that arrangement and cost him 400,000.00 of an attorney fees plus 60,000.00 for travel and expenses in one year to exercise his parenting time with his 4 children before the court ordered the children to be back to their home state. It is not easy and shared custody doesn't mean Ari will spend 50/50 time with both her parents.

You know, I thought it went viral at first, when Will got the text from T. But then the way Will was checking in with Sami, it seemed to me that it was just gossip about a priest sex video making the rounds rather than the video itself. I think if the video was viral, T, being T, would have had it and sent it, and Will would have gotten an eyeful right away. I didn't get that impression...but it's hard to tell with the way CM mutters his lines lately. LOL

Today's episode wasn't as action-packed as last week, but boy there were some enjoyable things in it.

The writing for Ericole continues to be spot-on. Say what you will about TomSell, but everything they have done with Ericole has been right. Putting them through the wringer and back only adds to their story value, and it's so good to watch. It also helps that the actors have undeniable chemistry that can be felt with just a look. Also, GV looked FINE in civilian clothes today!

LOVED the Donovan family scenes today, again. It was wonderful when Kimberly called Theresa "Jeannie". I was SO hoping that Shane or Kim would do that during their little visit. It was so great to see them! Such a shame they can't stay longer.

Sonny's Kiriakis side coming out today was fantastic, but UGH to WilSon right now. They've been coming across as so smug and selfish lately and I'm really not enjoying it. Hopefully this doesn't last too long.

I enjoyed the brief EJ/Abigail scenes we got today. TPTB have to know that people can see chemistry between the actors, and they throw itty bitty breadcrumbs every once in a while. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing those two mixing things up!

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
If that baby was a God Child (like Daniel) or a blood relative, then I'd agree. But seeing as how Victor just threw Will's family members under a bus, I highly doubt he'd give two shits about Will's domestic issues with his baby mama.
He will if his NEPHEW, Sonny asks him to.
That's good that you believe that. Eh, I don't, so we can now agree to disagree.
Remember what Victor did to T when he was gay bashing Sonny? Also, didn't Victor kick out Nick because of his treatment of WilSon. Victor has a history of being protective and loyal to his wife's kids so I think he will understand Sonny's attachment to Ari.

No offense, but Sami's reaction to Ej knowing about Kristen and Eric is WAY understated for who Sami is. WAY.
Sami isn't the same person anymore...not that she was wonderful before meeting him but she had character traits that were hers... She would hold a grudge for decades, not be so forgiving, second guess everything about everyone, she wouldn't trust her so called enemies, she wasn't a cheater. No wonder I am no longer a fan, everything I loved about the character is gone

Father Hottie is even hotter as a regular person. That man is gorgeous. Can he be the Brady twin dominating our screen.

I really liked the Donovan family scenes today and I want Kim and Shane to stay.

I am glad Sonny's Kiriakis side is coming. I hate it when Gabi has all the cards. I would like it if he went all Kiriakis on someone's ass but I want him to save his ammunition for a weightier opponent.

I never knew about Abe and Nicole's connection but why don't they keep that. Nicole needs a family, specially a father figure.

I think Sonny's biggest obstacle to getting along with and trusting Gabi is that he is always on alert for the moment Gabi turns on Will. Like he told Chad Melanie was Gabi's best friend and she was willing to turn on her what might she do to Will. So in all cases he is instantly ready to think the worst of her and protect Will from her. That said, she hasn't done much that would change his mind.
Gabi is willing to turn on anyone if it suits her agenda. ANYONE.
Just like EJ,Sami,Kate,Will,Sonny,Victor,Stefano,Kristin............

LOL @ EJ "agreeing" to keep is distance from Sami, yet invading her personal space and getting all bothered. LOL.

And Gabi's behaved a lot better in that situation with Sonny than I would have. I'd a kicked his short ass and then invited him to bring it on. Kiriakis? I would have said Bitch that's your uncle, that ain't you.
Considering that uncle just helped destroy a priest and not give two fucks in the name of family, I think Gabi should worry what that uncle would do to support other members of his family.
If Sonny has to call in Uncle Victor to handle his business with Gabi, maybe he should keep quiet.
