I feel like "defrocked" will be next year's "flashdrive".
Or "hairbrush."

Everyone looks seasonal but they're all wearing the same thing. We're getting there though. I could do without the Members Only jackets.

3 leather - Maggie, Nicole and Eric
2 Members Only - Abe and T
2 grey/tan southwest pattern sweater - Abigail and Marlena.

I don't really like episodes where everyone is just standing talking to someone else.

LOL great line from Ali about the fantasy world contract. How appropriate.

Is Abigail less popular right now than Melanie used to be? If the answer to this question is a clear yes, writers - it's time to reevaluate and retool the character. There is no reason why a young, pretty, vibrant, smart legacy character should suck so much. All the pieces are there to make her work.
You know, I used to think the writing was the issue for her, but now I'm feeling like KM's choices are just as much to blame. Take today's scenes for example. KM could've played Abby as clever, tough and sassy in her exchange with EJ, but she played her as whiny, shrill and judgmental. I never thought I'd see the day where I much prefer Gabi/CB to Abby/KM.
Yeah, it's probably a combination of writing and acting choices which makes the character lame. But I've got a feeling that the character is going to take a turn in the near future. My guess is that we're going to see an Abby who is more edgy and got a bit more spunk and fire in her. I also guess that there's going to be more Abby and EJ scenes in the near future.:) I also think the writers are going to take back her similar traits when she was crushing on Austin. Because the current version of Abby is not working.

Marlena, you could have shown Brady the DVD in private, too.
Except her point was that Victor knew who was on the DVD, she didn't. And she didn't know the person on the DVD was being raped.

I have a feeling that Richard Bloore is doing so experimenting with wardrobe to find just the right looks for each character
I agree. I just wish he weren't doing it in groups.

I honestly don't understand Eric. I like him, but why does he have so little compassion and forgiveness when it comes to his own mother? I mean if he could forgive Kristen and allow her to marry in his church, after a few pre-cana sessions, and change his entire view of her (allowing her to work with children), yet he can't seem to give his own mother the time of day? Makes me wonder if he's the angel everyone seems to think he is.
I feel for both of them. They both have good hearts. If three months down the road he's still pissed, though, I might re-evaluate my opinion of him.

I know. That doesn't change my point, though. And on the part about the rape - Victor didn't know that, either.

Marlena is tit for tat with Victor.
Marlena to Victor: Go to hell,
Victor: I will meet you at the gate.
Who does Vic think he's kidding? I think he'll be standing all alone at the gate :blulaugh: I mean really. Marlena's already beaten Satan. Victor should be begging her to put in a good word for him with the big Kahuna. ;)

But he knew it was Eric, a priest. And he knows about the rape now. I'm not saying he should give a damn about Eric or Marlena, he's selfish and merciless that way, but he could have had a little sympathy and remorse (knowing now what he knows). Instead he got defensive and chose to accuse her of being an equal partner in his decision. He knows he damn well used her to save Brady's sorry ass. But I know he's a grumpy old bastard. I guess Marlena wasted her time today. Victor wasn't going to be nice to her like he was to his precious Brady.

He wont be alone at the gate. He will have EJ, Stefano, Sami, and basically all salemites.
Well maybe Saints Daniel and Jenn wont be at the gate. But I think they will be.

Can all Salemites please stop being surprised when characters like Victor and EJ do something bad?
that's basically what Victor told Marlena.
He basically told her, she knew who he was.
Yep, she totally wasted her time on that whole visit. But maybe Victor's stupid marriage will fall apart and he'll end up all alone and that will be his reward. Though, personally I think getting rid of Maggie would be an improvement. We'll see how he feels about it though...

Marlena was beautiful and fierce today.

LOVED Victor. And Ericole.

Dannifer continue to be the gift of :headbang: that keeps on giving.

About Abby. It's almost as if the writers of Days don't have a clue as to how to properly craft a rootable heroine. Jennifer is another excellent example of this. I get the feeling we are supposed to see both as the standard-bearers of the Horton family legacy, but they are coming across at least to me as judgmental shrews who live in ivory towers. There's a real lack of empathy in both characters. This was glaringly apparent in Jennifer's treatment of Jeannie in front of Kim and Shane.

Now, Jennifer and Abby are written as clingy, passive aggressive and Daniel-obsessed. Gabi's singular ambition is modeling (which is a job, to be fair).

But ultimately, I hate to see Jennifer and Abby written with less smarts, self-confidence, intelligence, empathy and depth than Alice Horton, let alone any of the other show's fine heroines.

Thanks for the welcome back, honeybees. :D

I'm not sure if it is misogyny or just stupidity. Hope is still take-no-prisoners, Sami is feisty, Nicole is actually maturing and learning to base her self-worth on something other than the man in her life, Marlena called John on his shit, etc. Gabi has always been a mess of a character for me, but at least when she was hiring stalkers she was showing a bit of gumption. Now she's a "poor me!" heroine and she still hasn't paid for what she did to Melanie or for helping to cause Jack and Madison's death. (Yes, I'm still bitter.)

Abby was fun when she was trying to bed Austin. Her interactions with Jack were fun. Now, aside from my relief that Abby's hymen is no longer around to have it's own storyline I see nothing positive about Abby. She's reduced to aiding and abetting Jennifer's monstrous self-absorption.

Jennifer is dead to me.

Maggie and Victor.
seriously, if Maggie didn't know who Victor was before she married him is just scary.
I agree, but to be honest, this show REALLY softened the guy over the years so I don't think it's crazy that people softened in their view of him also. He's been portrayed as a good guy for many years now.

I need EJ and Victor to form some kind of villains support group.
LOL, but they don't really need one. They're doing fine.

Marlena, you could have shown Brady the DVD in private, too.
And when was the last time we had even seen Brady giving Marlena the time of day?
Who knows. Perhaps she should have called him and told him about the DVD. Or watched it herself, first. Marlena brought this heartache on herself.
It is not Marlena heartache that concerns me in the least at this point or ever did. My real point was that Brady wasn't listening to anyone anyway and he wouldn't have give her the time of day to watch the DVD even given the chance. It would not matter how she or victor went about showing it to Brady, privately or publicly . I like Brady he was just being really stupid. For the record, I love the way they did the reveal and all the repercussion to everyone it make for great soap opera! :cheer:
