Totally agree what you said. I thought they were finally going to write the EJ and Sami a "love story" - including all the obvious dynamics of her family rejecting them, Stefano not completely on board - maybe throwing a few curves their way, especially when they had EJ kissing his ring and giving him back DE. They totally blew that story. The next time you saw them interacting he acted like he knew about Kristen and Eric long before he actually did, which isn't what we saw on screen. In hindsight, it appears they decided to go with an EJ and Abby pairing of some kind and had to add scenes because they certainly didn't flow. EJ is being written completely OOC. This isn't how he would ask and I can't get on board with EJ cheating on Sami. I don't care about him cheating on Nicole she wasn't his true love, even though even that paring is preferable to EJ and Abby. I think the writing has been poor. You can clearly see when the direction changed and when the stories really didn't flow correctly.
When it comes to fictional soap characters we all like what we like and dislike what we dislike.I must admit when the interview was given for November sweeps of 2012 with KC saying they were going lock, stock, and barrel with EJ and Sami then Rafe and Sami broke up at the wedding and she got with EJ,I thought I would see writing for them that I am seeing now with EJ and Abby. The current writing for EJ and Abby shows they know how to write a romantic story so I do wonder why they did not write an actual love story for EJ and Sami .I don't recall EJ and Sami being happy during 2013 although they were together.I guess I never saw EJ and Sami as true love,I viewed their relationship as an obsession on his part sort of parallel Stefano's relationship with Marlena and Sami being physically attracted to him as well as having her ego boosted by the fact that he wanted her so badly he was willing to do anything to have her.
But the current story is somewhat ambiguous so you never know.Their love story may be continuing/coming,they may show EJ straying because he was actually hurt by the way Sami has been treating him and turning to Abby because of it.Who knows.Based on what I have read about early days Jack Deveraux and what I am seeing with Nicole, characters can be redeemed and writing can improve if the show stays on long enough.

The writers would need to write a story that puts a nice, rosy foundation, under a train wreck beginning to make it romantic for me. So far the storyline is just Sex..no depth. IMO.
It does not seem relevant now at least since ej is not in relationship that have depth or Abby never was indepth realtionship
So, the only reason a relationship has depth is when the two people are having sex? Sami and EJ are engaged to be married. He professed his love to her multiple times, including the same day he slept with Abby.
This is only my opinion, and I know that many here will disagree -- which is fine -- but as far as I'm concerned, E.J. isn't capable of truly loving anyone other than himself, as his actions have proven over and over again. Therefore, all of his professions of love -- for anyone, including his own children -- are completely meaningless to me.

Of course, next to Nick, E.J. is the character that I despise the most, so there's that.

Every time i read Daniel's name along with Nicole's I want to gag. Why are they ruining what should be a wonderful love story?
And while I'm on the subject of controversial opinions...the writers aren't ruining what should be a wonderful love story. Greg Vaughan is doing a great job of ruining it on his own.

Daniel doesn't annoy me as much as he seemingly annoys most of the people here. Sure, he annoys me at times -- particularly when he's around Jennifer, since either the writers or the actors -- or a combination of both -- choose to portray them as lovesick, immature teenagers who stammer constantly and talk over each other when they're together, forgetting that they know how to hold adult conversations and string together coherent sentences. Honestly, that's my biggest problem with them as a couple, and if that were remedied, they would be far more tolerable to me.

But when he's not around Jennifer, he doesn't normally bother me -- certainly not as much as some other characters I could name, at least. (*cough*Nick*cough*E.J.*cough*Eric*cough*)

Of course, I have also never been able to understand why the majority of the people here seem to have such an overwhelming hatred for Melanie, either, so clearly I don't see eye-to-eye with the DR community at large on a number of subjects. Which is precisely what makes this an interesting place to frequent.

Wednesday
EJ tells Sami that things must change; JJ attempts to throw Theresa off track.

Thursday
Daniel and Nicole come up with a way to clear Eric's name; JJ worries Theresa won't fall into his trap

Friday
Nicole and Daniel track down Dr. Chyka; Jordan rescues Rafe from a tense situation.

I'm so over EJ, I hope Sami tells him to take his demanding and shove it up his ass. He can be with the silly thing and leave Sami the hell alone.
Never thought I would ever agree that even the likes of Sami deserves better. I don't love to hate ELoser anymore, I just plain loathe the bastard now. The mere sight of him makes me sick.

What the hell would draw any sane man to a bland sanctimonious shrew like Jennibitch Jr. anyway? She's plain jane pretty at best, but she's nothing to go ga ga over.

I can't stand Nicole but I sure am glad she has moved on. To Eric (a priest of all people). LOL

I just saw someone refer to Kate Mansi as "Plain Jane pretty at best".

It's official -- it's time for me to go to sleep. And see a doctor tomorrow, because I'm clearly hallucinating. If I don't get whatever this is treated soon, I'll probably start seeing people say that Deidre Hall needs to take some grammar lessons or that Kristian Alfonso looks older than she really is or that Eric Martsolf has really started letting himself go and needs to start hitting the gym more often. This is serious.

John & Marlena did re-marry - she mentioned it in a 'blink-and-you-miss-it' scene where she mentioned it in passing. Thanks for the response about Bope though!!
Wait... they got remarried off-screen? Just like the mourning of Jack must've been done off-screen.
Oh my God! I was thinking that too! What's going to happen with Ryan Brady now? Is it possible that he may be ACTUALLY alive? I know that the Santeen story is pretty much shit but I can't seem to shake my mind off the fact that a LITTLE KID has died. I always feel a tug in my heart strings whenever I hear of a kid dying.
Which begs the question...is he dead??

I think Kate is beautiful! But if people want to believe she is a "Plain Jane," Days could do a Jane Eyre type story. with Abby being Jane and EJ being Mr. Rochester. Abby could be the children's governess and Sami could be the crazy wife in the attic.

I have often said, "I WANT to like Daniel." It's the writing that stinks for his character imho. They kept pairing him with Jennifer and then overdo angst 'til we're all ready to beat our heads against a wall. I like Daniel when he was with Chloe the most, although I didn't like our boy Lucas being hurt. But then again, whenever Lucas is alone I hold out hope that PodSami will come to her senses.

That's why I'm so excited to see how everything plays out with that storyline because it would seem the writers aren't falling back on the same 'o same 'o tire story of having Sami race back to Lucas or Rafe because NEITHER are now available or WANT to be available. The dysfunction was pointed out by Lucas and Sheryl at Club TBD the other day. . .

Sorry I totally hijacked your reply. I said all that to say, the writing seems much more connected than in years past and all the stories and characters connect to each other and I LOVE IT!

I didn't say that about Kate, but I don't find her attractive AT ALL. And I've met her in person and I didn't think so then either. Her face is just weird to me.

We don't all find the same things attractive in life, thank goodness! How boring.

I don't like the character of Gabi, but I find Camila gorgeous. In person, I thought she was stunning.

However, I do find Deidre Hall and Kristian Alfonso to be beautiful and Eric Martsolf to be a babe, in case you were wondering.

This story needed to happen to Sami. I am so tired of her walking around the last 7 years knowing that she had 2 and later 3 men in love with her. She has taken turns playing those men like a fiddle. She needs to have Lucas, Rafe and EJ all give up on her and move on to younger and more beautiful women. Women with character.

As much as I would love a pregnant Abby to walk in at Sami's wedding, I think it should go another way. The writers should make Abby decide to give up EJ (Not before we get a few weeks of bliss of EJAbby though). She tells him he needs to go back to Sami and the kids and to not contact her at all. EJ fights her on this, but finally decides she is right, he will go back and play the game for the children's sake.
We get to the wedding scenes....the vows are about to be spoken..and EJ stands up for himself and says "Darling, Samanther, I'm so sorry but I can't go through with this. Can everyone give me a moment alone with Samanther please?"

Then he tells her how he has fallen in love with someone else, for REALS this time. He cares for Samantha but "not in that way".

He then will be off on a whirlwind search for Abby and ends up at the airport where she is getting ready to leave Salem for good. She boards the plane and he has to give mucho bucks and throw around the Dimera name to get them to empty out the plane so that he can be there waiting when Abby gets off.....

That would be perfection....

I believe that is what we are seeing on the screen as of now. Lucas has or will have Sherly, Rafe and Jordan and Ej will, of course, have Abby. Sami will have the short end of the stick for the first time in her life.

I want these men that have wasted their sweet time chasing, sacrificing, and just doing about anything for Sami to GET A LIFE! I want the them to experience the ultimate romance of their life for having to give up so much! They are all deserving of it and that includes for poor ol' Ej! Ha! :tounge:

Yeah I fell for him once.

It's hard to ever believe in him again.

IMO this is why they shouldn't have rewritten history and why he now has zero credibility.

I still enjoy EJ most of the time, but yes, he has zero credibility as a character. Poor guy, he used to be so awesome back in the day, but too many writers have given him too many personalities over the years to ever see him as credible. I just enjoy most of the various EJ incarnations as JS plays them and have given up attaching any sort of meaning to who EJ is.

Beauty is subjective, sure. But there's a difference between not finding someone attractive and calling them "Plain Jane pretty at best". The phrase "Plain Jane" would better describe Ken Corday's daughter -- the woman who played that mousy hospital intern, Karen -- than someone like Kate Mansi, who is still undeniably gorgeous even if she doesn't necessarily float your particular boat, so to speak.

At the risk of inadvertently offending anyone, I personally have never been attracted to redheads, but I'd still never try to suggest that Molly Burnett is "Plain Jane pretty at best", because I can still completely understand how someone as handsome as Casey Deidrick could be attracted to her, even if she does nothing for me personally. Thinking (when she was on the show) that she wasn't the most attractive woman in the cast is one thing, but calling her plain or even ugly would have been another matter entirely. The former is an understandable opinion based on the fact that beauty is subjective, but the latter is just as flat-out wrong as saying that Deidre Hall uses poor grammar, IMO.

For the record, I'd choose Kate Mansi over Camila Banus any day. But Camila is also beautiful in her own right.

(And yes, I realize that I get too hung up on semantics at times. I'm a writer -- I can't help it.)

I love how some people are actually managing to romanticize the fact that a man is cheating on the fiancée he claims to love. The hatred for Sami on this site seemingly knows no bounds.
