That explains why all her men are being paired off with other woman.
Could be, What we are seeing now with Rafe, Lucas and Ej could be that the writer knew then when they where writing/shooting it that AS was leaving the show. I mean if she is leaving it would be way to do it. I would hate if Sami and EJ would elope and never look back again, mostly because I want to keep EJ (and James) on the show. Specially now when AS is leaving. Hopefully, James want to stay on Days when his renewal of his contract comes up.
The best way for story to Sami consider to dead and than have story of ej and Lucas fighting on kids There more story if Sami will be gone only
Lucas and EJ canīt fight over the kids because EJ doesnīt have any rights to Allie, and Lucas doesnīt have any rights to Johnny and Sydney. - Partnersincrime

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Exactly, unless they bring Brandon back short-term.
What she do with the kids will she kidnap from their fathers and they will never see them again
Sami kids are important to the show so I donīt see her leaving with them (unless Ejami were to leave together) they will have to kill her off or recast her. Maybe she could leave and just take Sydney with her if Allie and Johnny is sorased and old enough to decide that they want to stay with their fathers. Well if Sami leaves it in her Will that she wants Lucas to raise all the kids then heck yeah they can fight for the kids...seriously....it's that easy.

I am totally shocked, but I can't say that I am sad. She has been on too long and didn't have breaks when she should have. I think Days execs were allowing AS to let her say she was leaving first before announcing that Days will get renewed. You know, the whole bad news is ...but good news is thing. I think people will be OMG about her announcement and then a yay! :cheer: for the other announcement.
I do think JL will take over the role of bad girl, but I also think they need to bring back Carrie or Belle. Loved Martha Madison as Belle. I worry a bit for BD and GG, especially GG. I am hoping they both stay, because I see a place for them both, but with CB leaving I can see them writing the character of Rafe out, too.

I am shocked.Just shocked.Never thought I'd see the day when Ali Sweeney would leave days.I do think this does open the door to bring back some big names. The question is who? #1 on my list is Peter of course. If they'd hurry the hell up & declare Bo "dead", by the time AS is done filming, Hope & Aiden could be really heating up. They fall in love, are getting ready to commit to each other forever & boom! Bo is alive!
His acting was awful towards the end. He was obviously unhappy and it showed on screen, imo. Surprisingly, I'm not sure if I would welcome him back. his acting wasn't that bad. i don't remember seeing people complaining day after day about how he was just phoning it in. he put in much more effort into his final episodes than Chandler did, IMO.

I haven't read thru all of the pages yet so I don't know if this has been discussed, but WHY did she announce that she was leaving? She said that she would be on the show for the whole year, so why not keep her mouth shut until later. Does she want massive twitter campaigns of crazed Sami fans begging for her to stay and get a big fat raise? Anyway, I will not shed any tears at her leaving. She has monopolized this show for way too long. :cheer: :cheer: Adios Sami :yahoo: :yahoo: I think she did the right and wise thing when she announced her leaving. She firstly wanted to be the one herself to announce it, and secondly she probably knows how loose lipped Ken Corday is and how otherwise things get leaked. It would have been horrible and embarrasing if ths sort of news had come out from any other channel. She should be the one to tell about the news herself. However, I do feel that it's going to be *really* stupid for fans to now try to go on watching knowing that's she's gonna leave anyway. I mean, how is anyone supposed to be invested or interested in her and what happens to her, since they all know she's about to leave anyway. Plus for some people, like me, I can't wait to watch when she's finally gone, but if that's going to be only in 2015, that's ridiculous. I will have forgotten about the existence of this whole matter by then.

This begins to explain the random WTF of the recent male / female shifting. When AS leaves (and I'm guessing JS leaves) then two of the characters with the most screentime will be gone and the show has to figure out how to restructure to fill that. Her departure may be a year away but they need to test all of these characters out.
Sweeney is at the height of her career now so I'm also guessing she is looking to make the most of it and we will soon hear about an AS talk show. It would be kind of funny if it took Days time slot.
Why do you think JS Will leave too there nothing hint is going to leave and stuff with ej and Abby are pointing that JS not going anywhere JS's contract is up in April. Last year he had difficult negotiations and I'm guessing this year won't be any different. With JS no longer the main leading man of the show I'm guessing he probably is ready to move on to other endeavors.
I think there is a 50/50 chance he leaves, but I'm leaning towards it being more likely than not.

I'm really wondering about all the renewal comments. I was certain I had seen an announcement on Days renewal already. However, it will be renewed, it's a given. They're not going to cancel it before the 50th, if for nothing else, going out in a blaze of glory, and having all the media it will bring. (Btw, the show better do the celebration good as GH did. No slouching.)
And eww to weird people like Alicia Minshew or Kelly Sullivan as recast. There will be no recast, and certainly not from these choices. I just want to say the same thing was said about Law and Order. It went to 20 years but it needed to go a little further to pass the Gunsmoke record. It was so close. It's ratings weren't bad bad, it could have hung in there but NBC cancelled it. Now part of that is Dick Wolf's fault too as he was negotiating he wouldn't take NBC's fewer episode order. But still, if NBC sees a show is not going to last longer, they don't care about history, anniversaries or records.

AS definitely has a clear plan in all of this. I really don't think she's simply "just leaving". She has either gotten a juicy deal from NBC, either a pay increase on Biggest Loser or the host or another job in another show, or then she just feels confident enough to go try it on her own. But I don't think at all for one minute that she is just leaving because she wants to spend time with her children. Not when she looks better than ever and feels probably on top of the world. ICAM. Ali is above all a very shrewd businesswoman. She recently tweeted that she had finished her second fiction book and that means more book tours and guest talk show appearances. I also wouldn't be a bit surprised to see her with her own show in the near future. I highly doubt her kids or lack of vacation tim are the reasons she is leaving the show..Days has plenty of dark weeks...AS has just been too busy with other projects to take advantage of them.

YES!
Exactly. Buh-Bye!
I Never thought it would be possible! Am I asleep and having a great dream? I mean it is 2 AM........... All I can say is this not so over zealous and religious fan says PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
Alison, do not let the door hit you. Alison,, you were never loved by the fans the way they loved Deidre Hall and Susan Hayes, EVER. You never made that iconic status that those classy ladies ascended to, and you never even came close. The execs that blow smoke up your ass may say it was your "era". That may be true, but that's because they shoved you down our throats, and did the ratings ever reach the top tier consistently since they made you the "Lead" instead of the B status villain you were created to be by the legendary James Reilly? HELL NO! Did Days reach top tier when the two true leading Ladies, Deidre and Susan, had their time as focus of the shows drama and angst? ABSOLUTELY!
That proves one thing....you may have had screen time, but your forced and annoying time at the top as leading lady pales in comparison to the real deal, and about 87% (an educated, and generous to Alison guess) of long time fans are rejoicing at a future that does not include huffing, pouting, scrunchy face, stomping, and cardboard lines you would expect to hear in a middle school drama for charity. Free at Last! I never thought it would happen. BTW: EXECS feature Dee, Kristian, and Susan more and more.......and make your young lead Ariana Zucker. Her acting has passion, depth, and integrity. She has the chops to take on a real story and tare it up. We know in the endgame it's Ericole, and that would make her a Brady by marriage, It's a natural choice, and Ariana's acting actually can draw a nomination. I know there has to be a young leading actress, so gradually shift the focus to Nicole and Eric. Go ahead after some angst and turmoil and allow them to marry so she can be a member of one of the shows two leading families. NICOLE BRADY.....That rings a much better tone to this fan than Sami Brady. IMPORTANT NOTE AND A MUST READ KEN CORDAY, GREG MENG, GARY TOMLIN, LORRAINE BRODERICK, and CHRIS WHITESELL!!!!!! Kill her off dramatically to jump the ratings in the middle of some very good stories. The writing is actually showing details and skill right now. Do what William Bell, Sheri Anderson, Gloria Monty, and James E Reilly understood was the key to ratings success. Make Sami's death a Multiple episode, suspense filled events and non stop action that will keep viewers that do not watch regularly tuned in for a while, and have other stories airing with emotional depth and momentum catching fire with brilliant scenes during the "historic" Sami killing string of episodes. It's the soap art that has made shows soar even after events like a very well written and dramatic death of a lead. ONE MORE THING NBC, SONY, CORDAY, AND COMPANY...............THIS WILL NOT SINK THE RATINGS IN THE LEAST! YOU OVER-INVESTED IN AN ILLUSION!!!! LOVE your avi! :blulaugh: :P

I'll miss Sami. She annoyed me at times over the years and this might be an ensemble show, but she has always been a big part of the Days that I grew up with and it's not going to be the same show without her. That said, although this is completely unexpected, I'm not really that upset that AS is going. Wish her the best and hope she's not jumping ship because she knows something the fans don't. I don't want Sami to die, though. I want her to finally get her perfect wedding and happy ending.
Really? I kinda want Sami, Johnny and Sydney to die in a car crash so EJ can go bat shit crazy because he lost his family.
No! Enough dead kids already. Besides, I don't think JS can top ALfonso in the grieving parent department. i'm not sure ANYONE can top KA.

I'd be willing to bet when she re-signed her contract a couple of years ago, she let them know that this would be her last stint - and they're using her up as much as they can while she's on canvas. Will Days survive without her? Yes. I just hope they take/took advantage of her news by beginning her exit storyline already...maybe she goes insane, maybe she just leaves town. Regardless, it should provide for some hella ratings toward the 50th, and I don't see NBC not renewing the show at this point.

I'm not unhappy that Sami is leaving, but make no mistake: This has nothing to do with EJ and Abby. That pairing is gross and disgusting and never should have happened with the characters being true to their characters.
Also, that pairing had nothing to do with AS leaving. Since she know announced, it means she's probably announced it to her execs probably only last week, or most earliest around New Years. EJ and Abby began on New Years, which means it has been filmed in August, which means it has been scripted around June, which means the initial storyline plans have been made last spring. And there is no way TPTB would have known about AS's departure that early. And even if she had said then that she is "likely to leave in a timespan of the next two years", I don't think they can think about it in the way that they would need to write it into the script. The writers can't wait and see for two years whether someone might leave at some percentages chance.

He'd be out of Sami's shadow too. I think it's the perfect opportunity to stay for James.

He'd be out of Sami's shadow too. I think it's the perfect opportunity to stay for James. You're right it was the year before but I still get the feeling he isn't interested in EJ's path. Honestly I don't think he has really liked his character in awhile. He loves Sween so I'm sure he was happy to finally work in a 'happy' story with her but I just haven't felt that he really gives a shyte in a very long time.

Why do you think JS Will leave too there nothing hint is going to leave and stuff with ej and Abby are pointing that JS not going anywhere
JS's contract is up in April. Last year he had difficult negotiations and I'm guessing this year won't be any different. With JS no longer the main leading man of the show I'm guessing he probably is ready to move on to other endeavors. I think there is a 50/50 chance he leaves, but I'm leaning towards it being more likely than not.

His own words make it sound like he was happily soaking up the light of her sun. lol
He's always mentioned dreaming of quitting and moving to New Zealand or something, so I wouldn't be surprised if he did that.

Wow ... I thought she'd always be on Days to the end. But when it's your time to bow out then it's your time.

Yeah I will be shocked if he stays. He has stated before in numerous interviews he wants a Bonnie and Clyde story for Ejami so he may get one now. Further more, it is no secret that JS has always been bias when it comes to EJami, now I do not think it has anything to do with whether he stays or not, more that he might leaving because he wants to do something else.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep

You're right it was the year before but I still get the feeling he isn't interested in EJ's path. Honestly I don't think he has really liked his character in awhile. He loves Sween so I'm sure he was happy to finally work in a 'happy' story with her but I just haven't felt that he really gives a shyte in a very long time. IDK, he sort of confuses me at times with what he says. He's said many times he loves to play the darker EJ...he thrives in it and it's fun for him. If that's the case, then this is the perfect opportunity for him to play that role. He betrays Sami in the worse possible way, she leaves him and before he has a chance to make it up to her, she dies in some mysterious tragic way. He can't cope and goes back and embraces his dark side....I think that they will focus on every one of her men's reaction to her death...Ej can go full blown dark side again, Lucas can drink himself into oblivion, and Rafe can go back to working at the Police Station full force to uncover who killed Sami Brady....lol
