I really enjoyed today's show.. all of it. The scenes between Nicole and Eric were delicious.. such emotion on both their parts.
Love how several people are beginning to put the pieces of the puzzle together with regards to Nick and that this storyline is involving so many characters. Gabi is going BSC and Sonny and Will both look like the cats who ate the canary. Abby in the church holding Arianna and EJ walks in... foreshadowing??? The closing scenes with Hope and Julie walking in on them were priceless.
Hmmm... Hope and Liam.. if that were me and someone had just said those things to me about my child, I would have immediately gone to talk to my child.. christening and Julie be damned. Maybe Liam is right... Hope really isn't spending enough time with Ciara.
No Sami made this show even better... sorry not going to miss her on Days.

I don't know where the hell this is going? I KNOW Abby wants EJ BAD, but EJ has me all kinds of confused? It's making me feel as clueless as Abigail! Lol!
The problem with trying to figure out EJ's intentions is that his words and actions with Abby would be the same whether he is playing her or not. That is, either he's sincere in caring about her and being unable to resist sleeping with her or he's trying to convince that he's sincere so she stops digging about the Nick stuff. His actions and words will look and sound the same on the surface, so there's no way of knowing. Which is obviously how the writers want it to be. Personally, I believe whatever "truth" the writers end up going with is going to be a completely convoluted mess that both sides will fanwank to fit their version of EJ's intentions regardless. Hmmm... Random thoughts...
I like Aiden/Hope. When I had initially seen just screencaps, I wasn't too excited about Daniel Cosgrove -- or whatever his name is. But seeing him in action with Hope, and... I don't hate it, I have to say. I'm here for their inevitable romantic entanglement. Wondering how the writers are going to swing their romance with Bo still being alive.
Also, Ericole is a blessing in my life. Loving them so much. TPTB made a fantastic decision when they brought GV on to play Eric. He and AZ are magical together.
Regarding Ejabby... Still loving them. Love their chemistry and I love KM, in particular. The s/l is making me enjoy Abby and that's pretty much all I wanted from her being paired EJ, so wish granted (so far).
As far as the never-ending debate of Ejabby vs. Ejami vs. She's too young/slender/idk vs. I hate it vs. I love it vs. whatever...

The constant bickering in every thread is sapping my will to live, to be honest.

Anyone else disappointed that we didn't get a hint that Aidan knows Hope by reputation, since he's an attorney? Clearly he's new in town, but still. I would have added a nice layer.
Actually I'm excited he hasn't, or hoped he hasn't. Because to watch two people in love, especially people who have received bad first impressions (which this meeting is a great way to do it, a parent's love for his or her child will result in knee jerk and sometimes irrational snap decisions but it's understandable) will need to overcome those mistaken perceptions. Hearing about Hope's accomplishments in her job will come first, which he will probably believe that's come at the expense of Ciara. But then her own personal characteristics are what is going to (hopefully) get him to fall in love with her. Perhaps Hope's story will result in some story for Doug and/Julie once the Nick thing is wrapped up.

So, it would be very wrong to hope Brady doesn't get off the sauce anytime soon, right? Asking for a friend.
Ericole. They're finally giving Nicole heroine-status writing. About time. And I love GV as Eric - it's a thankless job to play a good guy on a soap, and Eric is good guy on steroids. But he made it work, and he's a big part of what's sold me on Ericole as a couple. Used to hate them together back in the day, but I love them now.
I don't particularly care who EJ ends up with, and I can see ways to make an EJabby pairing quite viable. But mostly, I'm enjoying watching him deal with all the amateurs on the verge of blowing up his cover-up. EJ and Gabi scenes are priceless all by themselves. And I like Abby better when she's around EJ than any other time, so I'm fine with her being constantly in his orbit.
Loved Mama Bear Hope, but wow, she doesn't know anything about Ciara's naughty side, does she? And while Aiden was a total jerk to her, he's not entirely wrong. No Bo + Hope's crazy job = a woman run ragged trying to keep everything from falling apart. At the same time, he's not very sympathetic to a fellow single parent (which, technically, Hope is). I want to see more of them together, so that's a plus, right?
Julie and Abby should go into business together as private detectives. Nicole, too. Horton, Williams and Walker, PI.

The age difference between EJ and Abby doesn't bother me at all. Abby doesn't seem like a teenager to me. As a matter of fact, for the past year or so she's acted like the parent and Jennifer the child in their relationship and I hated that. Now, she seems to be acting more age appropriate.
In real life, rich handsome men like EJ almost ALWAYS would go for a young, beautiful educated woman like Abby vs. an uneducated, style-less, divorcee with lots of arrests and baggage like Sami. So the age difference doesn't bother me at all. The fantasyland is actually trying to convince me that a man like EJ would look twice at someone like Sami. I suppose that's why this is a soap. lol
I've never understood how Sami got any of her men. One of my co-workers always said it was her boobs! I've said before that she has got to be the world's best lay. It's the only thing that explains her storyline for the last few years.
I'd say the same for EJ too because there's no other reason a woman would want to deal with that shit.

Kate Mansi is a grown woman not someone in their early-to-mid teens, and there are plenty of other women who are older than her and have the same body type. I don't see how or why it's weird/creepy for someone like her to be in a relationship with someone of EJ/JS' size.
Probably because she not Sami
I don't see the issue either. And as far as age goes, aren't they something like 9 years apart in real life? She's playing a 22 year old onscreen. Adult and legal. He is in his early 30s and is also that on the show, no? I mean, I know he is technically, like 16 or 17, right? lol So, it's not inappropriate or gross imo that they have a sexual relationship onscreen.
They also previously paired her with Chad twice and Casey and James are exactly the same height.I never liked Abby with Chad but that was because of their character history on the show rather than aesthetics.I saw a lot of posts supporting Chad/Abby in the past and currently and against the couple but I don't recall any mention of Abby (Kate) being too short for Chad(Casey). If she is not too short for Chad I don't see how she is too short for EJ.I also think having Abby get her degree, get her first job,and Jennifer talking about how proud she was of Abby as a young adult was paving the way for Abby to have an actual relationship with EJ. My personal problem with it has to do with they maturity level of the characters. EJ comes off as a manipulative 40 something, (sometimes a stogy 50 year old) and Abby comes off as a naive 20 year old.
Obviously in real life, all sizes and shapes of people get together and I have no problem with them on tv either, but the stature differences in the characters are what bother me. That and the weird pre-emptive desire for EJ to deserve to be loved and believed in by a sweet woman. That confuses the hell out of me given I've watched his entire run on the show. He deserves nothing but a nasty woman who doesn't make him a better man.

Depends on what kind of lawyer he is. If he's a patent lawyer, for example, then he likely wouldn't have crossed paths with her.
Something tells me he's not a patent lawyer. But even if he hasn't crossed paths with her (which I'm fine with) I imagine an attorney at law would familiarize himself with local law enforcement when moving to a new place - if he hasn't been in Salem since before November off-screen, that is. Seriously, do they ever have patent lawyers on soaps? Asking for friend.....

Yeah, I didn't get a romantic vibe either with the musical cues and EJ's tone of voice. I thought it was supposed to be more creepy, menacing.
I thought the scene was strange because all of it from the background bible to the baby holding were constructs that would be used for a couple which has been soapily been kept apart for a long time. Instead it was awkward because these two talked about angel's wings a few times and then fucked in a cabin two days ago. Moreover I don't get what EJ is trying to keep Abby from saying..."Julie! Gabi had a terrible fight with Nick in the town square!"
Don't forget EJ talking about all he and Abby had been through together! :blulaugh: I like them but I still find many aspects of the story funny. That line had me scratching my head while playing their 5 second backstory in my mind's eye!

Not answering untill I get the name of the friend. I think soap lawyers are like Justin, criminal, civil...corporate...patent...actuary...whatever the plotline dictates.

I'm sorry but those two don't look like a couple to me. They look like a father having a conversation with his adult daughter. I could see EJ with Hope, heck even Theresa but not Abby.
JS looks much older than his actual age, imo.
He always looks thirties to me,early or mid most of the time but late when he wears his glasses, especially when they are at the end of his nose.Regardless, most of the time I find him extremely handsome. How old does he look to you? JS actually looks 35 to me. Usually I think an actor or actress looks either younger or older than their actual age, but to me he looks about his age.

I'm not sure Aiden knows that Hope is a fellow single parent (just like Hope doesn't know that Aiden's a single parent). Hope can probably faster figure out that Aiden's not married, but Hope still has her wedding ring on, so he probably assumes that she just doesn't care. I agree that Aiden isn't completely wrong. At the same time, he's going about this whole situation in the wrong way. Instead of wanting to figure out a way to resolve the issue (which is what Hope wants to do), he came in with guns blazing & throwing accusations at Hope and blaming her for something her daughter did.

Seriously, do they ever have patent lawyers on soaps? Asking for friend..... probably not. Soap Lawyers are probably like Soap Doctors - capable of doing anything that needs to be done. lol. However, I'm sure that EJ could channel his inner patent lawyer if there was a storyline about 2 companies battling over an invention/new drug/etc.

The perfect Soapyness of ERICOLE is dreamy!
Julie makes me laugh, I wish they would use that busy body more because she is magnificent in comparison to Maggie.
All of the tween crowd bugs; Sonny, Will, Gabi, Abby, sometimes JJ. I cannot deal with them and this Nick story has only made them worse. It's too bad because during the baby story they were really on fire.
Just Ericole....so much Ericole....
Drunk Brady is the best Brady. EM really does great work when he has something to play. I like his playing with Teresa and her punking him in the end.
I definitely liked that scene between Hope and Aiden. I think DC needs to find his groove but this could be interesting. I also wonder how he will fill in the canvas. We have a lot of lawyers.
Nicole looked fabulous today, fabulous. Loved the nun giving Eric the rosary....ANGST PEOPLE

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Don't forget EJ talking about all he and Abby had been through together! :blulaugh: I like them but I still find many aspects of the story funny.
That line had me scratching my head while playing their 5 second backstory in my mind's eye!
Don't be a hater.Just sayin' for a friend. I'm hatin' on the game which brought me Abby years ago! Abiriver fo evah!
