They wouldn't need to do any re-writes. All they have to say is that she took the test too early.
Or got a false negative.

Well, I for one am flippin' ecstatic!!!! This guarantees ERICOLE will be together by the time ED gets back. But from the sound of her tweets, she wants Brady back---not revenge on Marlena. I just don't see it being Eric's baby. That would turn Brady away from her...she wants that child to be Brady's.....however....HER REVENGE COULD BE TOWARD NICOLE!! Showing up at ERICOLE's summer wedding and carrying 3 month old baby would definitely be a showstopper and PISS NICOLE OFF!! Kristen would definitely entertain the idea of that baby possibly being Eric's for soooo many reasons---BUT SHE WANTS BRADY, SO IT WILL BE BRADY's!!

After being accused of trying to upstage Alison Sweeney...
Eileen Davidson @eileen_davidson @angmcny I didn't know Ali was leaving. And if I did, why on earth would I want to upstage her? I have nothing but love and respect for her.
Eileen Davidson @eileen_davidson @angmcny Are you a hater? Please unfollow me. Think. What do I have to gain? NOTHING!
I love it when ED calls out people on twitter. She does it so well. ED is classy about it too.
I bet AS wishes some folks would unfollow her & not try to fight some imaginary battle for her.

There's nothing about Kristen's return that guarantees that Eric & Nicole will be a couple. There's a lot that can happen between now and 6-7 months from now.

Excellent news.
But I'll pass on the idea of Kristen teaming up with Nick. I'm still hoping that Blake Berris is already gone for good at this point anyway (and therefore won't be around to film scenes with Eileen Davidson when she starts filming in March), but regardless, I've already had to put up with seeing my two favorite characters on the show wasted on my least-favorite character on the show for far too long. I do not ever want to see another one of my favorite characters on the show wasted on him.
And I highly doubt that we'll see Kristen pregnant, unless it's just in flashbacks. She'll almost certainly return with Eric's baby in tow, but she'll start airing again over one year after Kristen raped Eric (on the 6/24/13 episode), so there's no way that Days is going to have her return in the middle (or even at the end) of a pregnancy, IMO. I just can't see them messing up such a huge return with such an unbelievable detail, especially since some people (as evidenced in this thread) are already going to have a hard time buying the fact that she can have a child in the first place.
The timing barely works out for her to return at the very end of a pregnancy if she's carrying Brady's child, but if they're going to go with a baby storyline, surely they'll make Eric the father. There's far more storyline potential there, and they didn't have Kristen go through a pregnancy scare after raping Eric last year for no reason whatsoever.
She had a pregnancy scare and then wasn't pregnant, though. It's not like she had another chance to get pregnant with Eric. + she supposedly saw that fertility expert. Though the doctors in Salem are amazingly incompetent.

I don't get why so much talk about babies/pregnancy: 1. We DON'T KNOW if there will be one. 2. Women over 50 (or women told they can't conceive) can have babies even in real life.
Sure they can have babies, but the percent of women in their 50s who get pregnant naturally is nearly zilch. So yeah, Kristen showing up pregnant from just having sex with Eric or Brady would be amazing. I'm fine with it, but I'd like it better if the show called out the WTFery of it. Plus, I want to see Kristen's blood boil when people continually tell her they're shocked someone her age got pregnant, LOL. If it's Eric's child, it's ridiculously easy for them to write a plausible explanation for how she managed to get pregnant from "natural" sex, despite her age and history of fertility problems. It would literally take one line of dialogue. Two if you want to add some snarky flavor.
"Chyka admitted to me after the fact that one of the drugs in the drug cocktail that I used to get Eric to sleep with me is being used in experimental trials to help couples with fertility problems conceive children naturally as an alternative to in vitro fertilization. At the time, I wanted to wring his neck for failing to warn me and possibly complicating my reunion with Brady, but I've learned to embrace motherhood...except for the diaper thing, which I'll let Marlena handle."
There. Problem solved. The drugs turned Eric's sperm into super-sperm that was capable of things that normal sperm could never hope to achieve. Frankly, that's more believable than E.J. inexplicably being older than Will.

Also, I always find it amusing when people pull out the "she was told that she couldn't have children!" card with Kristen, yet totally support Nicole's two miracle pregnancies and keep hoping that she'll eventually have a third miracle pregnancy. Nicole was told that she couldn't have children, too. Many times.

She had a pregnancy scare and then wasn't pregnant, though. It's not like she had another chance to get pregnant with Eric. She wasn't pregnant according to that test. Tests have been wrong before (in both ways -- false negatives and false positives). It's not difficult to explain that away. It's not like she ever told Jennifer, "Oh, by the way, I just had my period, so it looks like I dodged that bullet" after taking that pregnancy test.

True (though that was itself a rewrite, IIRC), but I'd argue that they generally don't play it that way on-screen. During her most recent pregnancy, I'm pretty sure that Nicole mused on more than one occasion that it was shocking that she had been able to conceive a child, period.

I am so happy. I posted in Friday's thread my discontent with the show lately. More like my BOREDOM.
I think the show has been GREAT lately...
I will say Thursday's and Friday's kept me thoroughly entertained, but I hadn't watched them yet when I made the post. (Which I said in the post. LOL.) I was really into Friday's ending. I am glad for some movement!! If you don't mind, may I ask what you liked about the Thursday/Friday shows other than the Friday ending? There have been so many positive reactions to the show although not all for the same reasons which is one of the reasons I like posting here. I haven't seen very many posts by you so I am interested in your take on the show based on the two episodes,if you don't mind me being nosy.If you do mind,I'm okay with not getting an answer.

I am happy that she is coming back for story purposes but don't want her with brady or eric.
Welcome.I totally agree.I am glad she's back.Don't want her with Brady. Not likely she would be with Eric.I like that she creates havoc. If she returns with a baby it needs to be Brady's baby or a baby she adopted and lies about.I am also interested in her reaction to EJ/Abby and Eric/Nicole,esp.Nicole.

Some women literally don't know that they're pregnant until the moment that they go into labor. It's not unheard of. Wishfull thinking can overcome all the barriers, I think, LOL :D . And it's a soap, stranger things have happened.
If there has to be a baby (I'm not sure there has) most logical s/l would be Kristen saying it's Brady's but the baby being bought/illegally adopted via Stafano's help.
The s/l they will write for Kristen depends on for how long they signed ED. If it's short term I doubt they'll try a baby s/l at all. BTW it's interesting in what stage of development is their s/l for Kristen now.

lol, wonder what made them change their mind about the "news" date? Kassie's reveal first? I still think it's not a coincidence that the news was supposed to be released 1 day apart from Ali's news. Whether to bury Ali's departure or b/c they were linked. Or both.
I think it's weird that Days has kept a lot of the recent casting news quiet until about a month out, but has decided to announce KDP & ED's news now, before either of them has started shooting. IMO, it would've been better to keep at least ED's return quiet until at least such a point where the show would start to drop hints of Kristen's return, if not even longer. Maybe even keep it a secret until Kristen does pop up. I'm very very very glad they did it!!!!! This makes me look forward to the future and I'll keep watching the show even if most of the time nothing in particular interests me now (maybe except for Ejabby).
I think they let Ali announce her departure when they had 2 (3 - with renewal) very powerfull positive pieces of news to give. It was very coordinated and well handled by 'Days'.
