Ron Carlivati is a known crybaby bitch. And this is coming from someone who enjoys his writing 70% of the time. He has a history of screwing over his own shows by submitting horrible reels so he should have just known he wasn't going to win. And Y&R basically sucked for this whole timeframe. Days was the best soap and deserved this.

Has RC never worked with any FiCore writers? That's surprising but good for him if he hasn't. Gary Tomlin didn't win shit tonight and RC is just using this as an excuse to cry and not look bad while doing it. It is personal because GT took over for him while he was on strike, but the real issue here is that your union just awarded a show written by a scab over you. Might need to reflect on that for a minute and figure out what you're doing wrong.

I think Tomlin gets shamed enough by supposedly being the HW and not having his name attached to the award or being mentioned in any of the articles that the big sites are putting out about the awards. I'm basically convinced that Whitesell and Broderick are running the show. Especially after the Charlotte Ross tweet that she met with Whitesell and Meng and after Michael Logan congratulated "Lorraine Broderick and HER team" tonight after the win. Does anyone have proof that Tomlin is even alive?

Not to get political but I am 110% pro-union and I don't buy that it's Carlivati's real issue here. He has a God complex and constantly fails at award shows.

I'm very glad it wasn't Carlivati.
And I'm so glad it was none of those awful Y&R hacks. Not that they stood a chance in hell anyway.

I will say that even though I like GH, Ron should not engage in tweeting as much as he does. I have understood it. He engages in singular people and always responds to people trashing him. Why? Who does that? If you go on Twitter, you have to know people will tweet unpleasant things to you from time to time. But you should never talk back to them, that' just validating them. I don't understand the tactic. Also, a man in his position should really take into account that there are a lot of things he shouldn't or couldn't say. That's just the price of being high-profile.

I would be very curious to know which episodes were submitted. Is there a way to find that out?
I don't know if this has anything to do with what they've submitted, but 'On Air on Soaps' says:

During the DAYS writing team trip to the podium a clip of one of the major Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Kristen’s (Eileen Davidson) showdown scene was shown to the audience in attendance!

I'm not sure how the voting works, but the internal politics of WGA seem to be complicated. I remember reading that some members were angry about the Fi-Core shaming the union did after the strike, and the union not being sympathetic with how the strike uniquely impacted soap writers. So the membership at large may not care. IDK.

Oh, and Carlivati is a douche.
the whole "fi-core" thing really disgusts me tbh. I realize unions want their members to stick together, but people should not be blacklisted for life just because they went against their union's "orders". Ron can STFU. It's not the same for soaps as it was for the other shows. They have to produce a new show everyday not 20/yr. And since they were in rather dire straits at the time, it was even more important the writers stick by the soaps and not the WGA.

Edit, and while i believe unions can be good (for example i do believe the fast food & walmart works should be allowed to unionize for better wages), in some instances like here i feel the power has gone to their heads big time.

I don't think it's a power thing. Unions rise and fall on collective action. If they fracture then their position is weakened. Every benefit they were able to achieve (weekends, sick leave, vacations, workplace safety, maternity leave, minimum wage, etc), are because of union collective action.

I have no doubt the May episode for Kristen's demise was submitted. Those were amazing scenes between Deidre Hall and Eileen Davidson. I hope she submittted those scenes for emmy nomination.

Yeah the FiCore people should be blacklisted from the union and they are. Tomlin doesn't get any benefits that the others get. And he shouldn't. But you couldn't pay me enough to believe that Carlivati is anything more than a sore loser who went in thinking he had a 100% chance of walking out a winner.

If more people went FiCore then RC and tons of others may have never worked again so I could see him being upset with that. But the same people are voting on these awards so he is just total sour grapes.

Someone's name is missing in the writing credits...is GT still at Days??
Oh he's still there, but I think they must have him bound and gagged in a corner somewhere.

Carlivati is such a dirtbag. I would love to see his face if/when DAYS wins the writing Emmy.

He would really be outing himself as a sore loser if he complained then considering it has nothing to do with the union that he's hiding behind right now.

I'm very glad it wasn't Carlivati.
You should see his latest tweet! He's pissed! LoL

"Someone explain to me how a show with a scab head writer wins the #WGA award. #hypocrisy" - Ron Carlivati @carlivatiron
Keeping it classy.Tweets like this are the best reason for taking a deep breath before taking to social media.Obvious sour grapes.Every thought in your head does not need to be made public.Think before you tweet.Makes him look like an envious A hole.

Terrific script, I think David Cherill wrote that one.

Congrats to all the writers, it's well-deserved.
