Nananana7- great points and I think I agree with a lot of it. It's felt to me at least that they are doing it intentionally with the ejami stuff kind of like a transition. I realize that doesn't make sense. I wish I could explain it better. I think shows do that all that time. I felt like Ej putting Lucas in the freezer truck was a sort of homage to the Will doll. Of course there are tropes that will be duplicated but sometimes I think there's an intent behind some of it even if it's loose. We shall see where they are headed with all of this. It's like the 50 Shades thing. No they aren't going to show the kind of kink that was in that book (even tho they could allude to it, think Passions) but from what I've see so far it seems are going for a same feeling or theme that was present in the book.
I still feel that Ejami are a direct Sami and Austin reflection up to the point of the obsession for almost a decade, the fact that the same one is always left at the altar when the shit hits the fan, the interloper keeping the couple separate and all that....obviously...Ej is playing the role Sami played in the original story...hopefully Ej can move on and fall in love for real with a person that loves him for him and isn't constantly wanted him to be someone different to please her....
The show actually had JnJ and they gave Jack his walking papers as soon as they possibly could.
It's possible the show is trying to rake in some money by attempting to draw in JnJ fans -- by writing/directing Ejabby as a distorted reflection of JnJ ... yet the show is too stupid to actually re-hire Matt and write Jack as JACK and not as a buffoon.

I truly think there is more to MA not returning than we know....it might be more on him than anything the show does or doesn't do. I mean, I know the show doesn't treat the character with any respect, but the fans of the actor/character are truly loyal. We've heard the way JER had it out for the character/actor but JER has been dead for how long and we still don't have anything better for Jack. It's a testament to the actor's popularity that he gets brought back so many times. Much like BD admitted to being bitter in the past about being given the shaft, the same is true of his character's popularity...he's treated just like Jack/MA but somehow he manages to continue to be around and somehow manages to get writers to write for him. Might not be what we all might want for Lucas, but he's not treated like Jack is..he hasn't died and returned a million times...I think there is way more BTS stuff with MA that keeps him from being around. I say this as a HUGE J&J, Jack and MA fan.
Ejabby is the future...ejami is the past....plain and simple...once as leaves it will be Ejabby as a couple because of the reactions from both families. She will be the black sheep for loving a dimera and he will confuse his family for loving a "good"Horton. It's so good....some of the stories just write themselves.. Especially if she has a dimera baby..
Isn't that the same story they had with EJami? Brady and Dimera is pretty similar to the Horton and Dimera story.
I love ya but my eyes are stuck in the back of my head right now.
lol..You seriously don't see the comparison? Come on....Sami is even as dumb and slow as Austin now....remember he didn't even know that Carrie cheated on him with Mike...zing! Who gets left at the altar now? It's certainly not Sami anymore...it's Ej...he's the new Sami and YOU KNOW IT! lol....

IDK why Days would attempt to draw in JnJ fans by writing a story that's the opposite of the one that hooked them in the first place, but the writers have tried stranger things.

My bewilderment is more over you hoping EJ finds someone who loves him for him....
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH LL???
As to the comparisons, I don't think tptb are smart enough or care enough to do that. And, I don't think they're interested in the fans from yesteryear, they want the current, younger fans.

Sami never cared what her family think if she wanted something that why the brady and Dimera never really believable why sami will stay away from ej.it was really funny last year when sami said she was not with ej because of her family anyine that watch sami for years know it such bullshit.with abby it will be believable of abby will care what he family thinks

Don't most of Jack's deaths coincide with JER getting hired? I don't think you can compare BD to MA when it's only relatively recently that Days started hiring people who don't see much value in Lucas. If Tomsell are able to stay in power as long as JER did, we might see Lucas get killed off a half a dozen times, too.

Yeah I guess but he was also brought back during times when JER was in charge, that is why I think it was partly due to JER and partly due to MA himself...so I can't really say it was ALL on JER. When it comes to BD and Tomlin...I don't put anything past them...but hoping they don't go there, not that it really matters, look how many times Jack came back from the dead, organs harvested and all.

Ej was the reflection to Sami but EJami are Ejami imo.

I think there might be people who are drawn to the sinner & saint, good girl/bad girl type tho.
I feel confident that if there are any "reflections" of J&J, they're completely unintentional. Especially since everything listed so far is just basic soap cliche.

Yeah, I agree with that, it's just that, while I'm no JnJ expert, ISTM that Ejabby is like JnJ only in the most superficial sense, and if that's all that matters, then there are only three kinds of couples at all - sinners, saints, and saint/sinner.
I don't think we'd even be talking about JnJ if not for Abby being their kid. If we left everything the same but swapped Stephanie for Abby, we'd be talking about this being a callback to stayla.

I think some people are also drawn to the Romeo & Juliet type couples/stories.
