Come on Ron, We are counting on YOU !!

So NBC caved to the homophobic Olympics because the network just happens to be airing this travesty of a sporting event? Really now? What a PR nightmare...I really wish every gay publication picks this up and runs with it...it's really disturbing. NBC is the WORSE network IMHO, they have botched so many moments the last couple of years, but this just takes the cake. So don't include a snippet of Wilson getting engaged on a promo because it's airing the Sochi Olympics which are being held in a country that recently passed anti-gay laws...brilliant...we are in AMERICA....I truly wish NBC gets some bad press for this. I feel bad for Judie though, she shouldn't have opened her mouth...just not answer was the way to go with this one...

When I was composing my previous post (at the bottom of the prior page), I accidentally clicked to post it before I was done typing.

I just went back and edited that post to finish my thoughts.

Wow what a nightmare for NBC and deservedly so! This definitely sounds like a NBC issue since WilSon was originally in the promo but then cut out. I do believe that Days supports the couple but NBC, unfortunately, has the final say and they clearly made the wrong choice here. Very disappointing!

ETA: To those who are angry, please don't stop supporting WilSon and Days. I get the anger and disappointment but, in light of what happened, the couple needs our support more than ever. NBC might be dipshits who caved under pressure but WilSon is helping A LOT of people out there. I only hope that it continues.

I don't know where or how, but my suspicion it has something to do with money for NBC.

Judie would be the person who knows what scenes were rejected.
She knows *WHAT* happened.
She may or may not know WHY.

I have no idea Judie if was trying to state her personal opinion as *her* personal statement, or not. But if she was, it was clearly her opinion of what happened, and not anything official.

Maybe Judie knew that nobody would ever say anything -- yet she felt it needed to be said?

But then again ... perhaps Judie was simply replying to a twitter follower in an offhand manner, forgetting that everyone would read it as some sort of statement.

Tweets are 140 characters -- it's hard to figure out what is the underlying motivation of brief tweets.

As much as I want to be unspoiled for the Wilson scenes next week, I am disgusted that NBC would cut them from the promo! Good thing this is the only show I watch on their network.

I would agree that the couple needs our support now more than ever.

And yes -- all the teens out there who are being helped by the the WilSon saga -- I think those viewers are VERY important. Of course, ideally, gay couples would be part of the canvas of life on all shows -- and WilSon wouldn't be so badly needed. But right now, things are what they are, and Wilson is needed.

This Will/Sonny controversy doesn't make any sense to me. NBC has been including commentary on Russia's laws and the LGBT community in their primetime olympic coverage so far, and the coverage (IMO) has not been friendly or supportive of Russia's actions.

I think there has to be more to the story because NBC suddenly becoming homophobic because of the Sochi Olympics makes NO sense.

Jude should have kept her mouth shut.

NBC is behind their gay story as long as it doesn't hurt. Nice to know.

Pretty much. It doesn't surprise me, but wow, sucks to hear how Days is too chicken shit to promote the engagement. And I cannot believe Judie admitted that on twitter. Does she seriously not know what a huge can of worms she just opened???

I was just wondering if anyone actually sees the promo on tv?I don't watch a lot on nbc, just local and evening news, and of course Days.

As for WilSon promos, you could probably count on one hand the number of times they have been included.lol

Has WilSon ever gotten a promo?
I'm not sure.
Here is a site that saved all the Days promos:
That could be hunted if you remember specifically the dates of important Wilson events.

I couldn't be less invested in Rafe and Jordan. They are the epitome of boredom and malaise.
You're really true to your username!
Why thank you.

For those who requested a cap:

Posted Image

He looks like he's wincing.
Looks like he's emotional and smiling to me.

Guess we will find out.
His expression reminds me of Sami's when EJ gave her another chance last year.

Obligatory :wub2: for Ejami and  for ericole.

Anyway, I hope Days/NBC gets slammed in the mainstream press for taking Wilson out of the promo. Soaps are supposed to tell groundbreaking stories (not that wilson aren't the most conventional TV couple ever, especially these days).

What an awful thing to do! I hope NBC gets all the flack they deserve.

Really, Days has been pretty great with WIlson. They've gotten multiple love scenes and plenty of airtime and are being woven into different storylines. This is definitely an NBC issue.

Now I'm even more confused, here's some replies from the promo lady to fans questioning what she meant.

I'm just utterly confused now, and I get the feeling we won't get a clear answer on this. I'm usually one not to kick up a fuss but this is really odd.

Looks as though Judie is implying Wilson were taken out of the promo because certain local affiliates would object.
