So, are you saying that a kiss between two guys has a different FCC rule than a kiss between a man and a woman? I am not getting what the FCC rules has to do with any of this? |

I'm still utterly confused. There are several primetime shows that feature gay couples/characters, and they get featured in promos. Last year, they had "The New Normal," which was all about a gay couple, and this year they had "Sean Saves the World" with Sean Hayes. Hell, NBC had one of the first primetime shows to feature gay characters prominently (Will & Grace). I know they were kinda chaste, but that was 2000. Why would they be afraid of a promo (even aired in daytime) if they are already showing affectionate gay content on the actual show? The FCC's not banning it from airing on the show. Why would it be banned in a freaking promo? |

FCC rules seem pretty arbitrary and contradictory to me. But I really do think that's the issue, not NBC's willingness to promote Wilson. And I'm on the side of those who think Wilson needs some shaking up. They sort of bore me because the show seems determined to gloss over all sorts of potential internal conflicts they should be dealing with. I don't see the need to make them cheat on each other, but they do need some stuff to work through that's meaty and interesting. Goodness knows, Will's family life and childhood traumas alone should offer plenty to work with. |

Good point. They don't need to be swapping beds to create good drama. They're not always happy outside of their relationship though. They've gone through tough times but together. I firmly believe that Days has a plathora of possible storylines available that they will probably never give WilSon which is a shame. They have a Horton and a Kiriakis together and happy. It's hella cute but there needs to be major fireworks outside their relationship especially given their families pasts, imo. |

My issue with Wilson being so happy all the time is that they had a really weak story for getting together in the first place. Neither have had a significant relationship on the show outside of each other and they're already the equivalent of a Days senior citizen couple. |

In a way, I have no problem with them getting together so early and being wrapped up in each other's world. I have two gay friends who met in high school and who are still in love and together. This does not mean they don't have drama galore. They have family conflict (one set of parents are homophobic and refuse to acknowledge the relationship but their son wants to continue to have a relationship with them which makes every family occasion a huge drama), as well as work and value conflict. They're not happy 24/7 but they're absolutely devoted to each other. Edited by Kaha, Feb 8 2014, 01:56 PM.

I agree that they've had their struggles, but for a soap pairing, Wilson are basically in Heavenly bliss. It's true that their families could provide a lot of natural conflict. There was potential with Adrienne disliking Sami, Sami basically being in the Dimera family, which has clashed with the Kiriakis family over various things, there's the rocky history between Kate and Victor, etc. Wilson are very mature and above getting sucked into their family's drama, which is great for real life, but I think they'd have more to do if the show would let them struggle to find common ground, instead of being so understanding all the time. |

Wouldn't it be nice if the conflict between Marlena and Victor at least caused a little bit of friction. Sonny sides with Uncle Vic and Will sides with his grandma. |

Of course. What I am saying is if they want WilSon to be the in love monogamous couple, they can still give them some other drama. Some of those dramas can be realistic. They can draw a lot of rich material from two young gay guys trying to be part of the fabric of a small town. Some of the drama can come from their family or Will's history or Sonny's apprehension and struggle to be a father. |

Yes! I would love to see family conflict with WilSon. Something that really tests their relationship which makes a lot of sense and includes a lot of history that we've seen play out over the years. |

@heyjude14 Couldnt you just show them together without showing them kissing and be OK? If not, will WilSon ever be in upcoming promos? @CaliKay10 yes they will She also said that Days will not be airing a promo during Olympics coverage. https://twitter.com/heyjude14 Edited by cord08, Feb 8 2014, 02:11 PM.

I'm still confused and I was the one asking some of the questions. I feel like it's not a concrete answer. I take this as Days had Wilson in the promo but NBC forced Days to take them out of of it because they were scared of local affiliates dropping Days. I get money is the bottom line but I just wish somebody would be ballsy enough at NBC to truly stick to their guns. I don't feel they truly support Wilson and now I honestly believe shit is going to be cut big time from them going forward. They finally got an equal love scene and now it seems it's going downhill and nbc is retracting. Ratings should be what matters most and fans didn't jump ship the week following Will and Sonny in bed. As a matter of fact ratings have increased ever since the gay scene came about. I'm not saying Wilson are to thank per say but it certainly hasn't hurt the show. The Olympic games would have been the perfect opportunity to rise above and say we believe in equality but instead the opposite is happening. I'm disappointed that it seems the engagement and the wedding will be blown under the rug like it's a no big deal thing. Explains why Wilson can't get their own story, have to live with Gabi and have never been shown kissing in a promo. Either you 100% support something or do you don't. Why can't Days and NBC at least do something to show more support toward Wilson? Show an online promo of them regarding the engagement and their upcoming wedding. That shouldn't be governed by the same guidelines I'd assume or maybe they are. Because honestly I feel this is a very wishy washy answer. Edited by michr544125, Feb 8 2014, 03:11 PM.

But as a member of the GA your supposed to want them together. Prepare to hit FFWD, I hit off during the EJami story. Came back for Eric and Nicole, and can't wait for them to really come together in a real true kiss. Ejabby tickle me, never saw a sex affair like this on any show....ever. Tick tick tick, will be so glad when booboo face is gone, off my screen. Don't watch her on the BL, don't like her on Days, don't read her in mag articles, the queen of NBC does nothing for me. |

Fuck the bigoted sons of bitches, and bitches... That is what's wrong with the world we live in, too many prejudicial bigots. Wake up and smell freedom!! I need a window treatment, the boy tinkling on the word...bigots. That really really REALLY pisses me off!!!!!!!! I mean the new Will does nothing for me  , I think he's ugly, but frankly I don't have a prejudice bone in my body. |

I would forever be annoyed by this and that should have been a sign about how the show would write and treat WilSon as a couple. They actual had a decent set up there if they had bothered to explored it. Brian was there at the time if I remember it correctly. Sonny gets rejected by Will after the kiss. It made zero sense for Sonny's reaction to be to wait for Will and reject going out with Brian. He doesn't know what the audience does as to why Will reacted harshly to his kiss and the audience didn't even know if Will had feelings for Sonny or not or if he realizes or not. Audiences just knew why Will reacted more harshly then was needed because of the shit T said to him. Sonny could have gone with Brian, Will could have seen an actual kiss between them to send him in Gabi's bed since the show wanted their freaking baby story (which didn't serve WilSon and is not being used to serve WilSon since they decide to gloss over any angst and drama it would bring to WilSon). Anyways, Will could have witnessed Sonny and Brian together as a couple few times, getting jealous and that could have lead to him realizing his feelings for him and how deep they go and either try to get the courage to tell Sonny or being Lumi baby, come out with some schemes to drive BriSon away from each other. They would have been at least more interesting then how it actually happened and is a set up they actual had. That pretty much has been the pattern when it come to Wilson and especially Sonny. Their story gets half-assed and Sonny almost never reacts like normal human being to the situation he is put in. So I do agree that we don't need for them to cheat or have romantic male interloper for their story to be interesting (although that would have been welcomed by me). They would have been just interesting enough if the show didn't decide to gloss over: the potential drama the baby and baby mama bring to Wilson. Adrienne's will founded objection to WilSon and it shouldn't have been just due to Sami but due to seeing her son move in with Will, his baby and baby mama. She could have been worried about Sonny's future. Worried about Sonny getting attach to that baby emotionally which he has no right to. they could have given us scenes of mother/son where she brought her own experiences with Alex and get Sonny's reaction and answer which would have helped us to get to really know him. Because we don't really know Sonny. We don't know his dreams, his worries (since he is not allow to have any for real) and what he is really thinking. Gabi moving to NY with the baby. They could/should have led to an actual break up between Wilson and real talk after it. Nick's "murder" and cover up. Adrienne being proven right again and this time they could have Sonny step back and question his relationship with Will. Is it really worth it risking his life and going to jail if these crimes were revealed. How would his parents and family feel if he landed in jail because of not even covering for Will but his crazy family. Hack, Will should have been wondering if he should cut his family off or not. His is a dad now and his one and only true priority should be to protect Ari and make sure he will be there for her. Covering crimes of his family could led to him going to jail. Where would that leave Ari. This stuff could have been interesting thing for the show to explore. I don't know why they gloss over a lot when it comes to WilSon. I would think that if is about not wanting to offend the bigots, then they would cut off the physical affection and not storylines that would naturally arise from whatever lame ass boring story they are doing at any given time. Bigots usually have problem with seeings gays kiss and stuff. That is what they are always complaining about the loudest. Wow, that is wall of text and I don't even know if I made sense or not. Okay, I'll just go back to lurkdom. Whatever the reasons behind the content in question being cut short, Judie should be careful; she's putting her job on the line by talking about network politics, even if it is only thorugh innuendos. |

Sevprince, your post definitely made sense. There is so much natural conflict that can exist between Will and Sonny without interlopers, but they refuse to let them fight for more than 30 seconds at a time. I agree that they should have delayed getting them together after the first rejected kiss and made Will work to get Sonny away from Brian. It could have been the usual method of Sonny thinking Will wasn't interested and Will thinking he had moved on to Brian and didn't want him anymore. Or they could have kept them apart longer after the baby reveal and had Sonny move on with Brian. The whole Gabi crisis could have been pushed back and still used to bring them back together. They also could have let Will grow a little more independent after the baby was born and eventually get Sonny back later. Ahh, all of the possibilities there were if they weren't so hell bent on keeping them so vanilla! All that being said, I still love them, go figure! |

A promo featuring ejami during Valentine's week? Really? This promo should be about love and romance, not a man who has just cheated on his fiance, not once, but several times, and him giving her an expensive gift to ease his guilt. This type of thing makes me despise this couple even more. And Sami..wake up..you and Ej have been barely speaking for weeks, not even a NYE kiss, and he comes up with an expensive gift on Valentines Day? Oooh..#classic cheater scenario. |
